So who thinks ASRock will remember this and apply the design to future designs? Surely they won't mess up? 😅 It seems like ASRock in general have pretty good power delivery and cooling for the money.
you need to study management/economy sourcery for like 17 years to understand this kind of advanced magic. not many are able to do this advanced things
I am not building my PC until black friday times, but man, it's videos like this that will be used to determine my parts list. god bless people like you willing to put the time and effort into making videos like this. THIS is the type of shit that makes youtube worth it for consumers. so ridiculously helpful. today you earned a sub (a comment, obviously) and like. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.
Especially considering this trend on Newegg of lumping together 10-15 motherboards under one list item so when people review them, you don't know what boards they're reviewing unless they specifically name them, which doesn't happen very often. That functionality is just gone, now.
@@LithiumLogicai don't understand why newegg doesn't do the same thing as amazon. amazon also lists different products under the same listing but it at least leaves a note of which product the reviewer bought.
I'm really happy he confirmed my purchase of the Asrock B650M RS WiFi being good, even if it was on a technicality because HDV/M.2 is impossible to get.
I bought the B650M-HDV/M.2 last year because of your detailed coverage of the AM5 boards. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a budget option. It's simply great for that price. As always, brilliant video Steve!
This is the best budget board out there. Great VRM, fast booting, runs extremely fast RAM if you want thanks to only having two slots. The only downside is the lack of ARGB header.
I got the h / m.2+, because on my country the HDV version was unavailable, it gives you good performance for the price as long as you keep in the ryzen 5 or ryzen 7 series because that is what its meant for
VRM heat is useful, but is that the only thing motherboards do and the only thing left to test?! It's like having a CPU, and only looking at integer and float performance 🤦♂ What happened to looking at actual power consumption, cpu performance, pcie performance, ssd controller performance, and usb throughput?!
@@davidanderson4727 Motherboard temperature directly affects the performance of those components so we can assume the hotter the mobo the worse it will perform in general. Just look at the thermal throttling presented in the graphs.
@@Puyols37 That's incorrect. The VRM only affects the CPU performance. Regardless, the overall design of the board and other "enhancements" would also affect cpu performance, such as the manufacturer doing a tiny overclock of the bus. It's a pretty short-sighted review and mostly a waste of time, considering how power can vary so much, and overlooking all aspects of the board, including audio controller, sata and usb controller, pci-e performance, etc.
No one else makes this type of videos. I really respect you guys for this. This is so helpful for someone who wants to build a PC with these motherboards. I was eyeing the Pro RS for a while and It's nice to have some reassurance.
Amazing video - awesome work and detail, thanks! I just purchased the Asrock B650M Pro RS so this reassured me a bit. I only paid £120 for it after discounts, so it seems like a bargain of an AM5 board - especially since it has 3x M.2 NVMe slots. 😊
I got mine for $100 and it enables me to pair the board with a 7800x3d instead of 7700x so, I'm forever grateful. For the perf/price, and feature, this is the board to get IMO
These videos are so good, because I can see people looking these videos up for several years to come, as you might be able to pick up an older, but good, board at a cheaper price, when looking to upgrade in the future.
I bought a B450 board based on your recommendation, still using it with a 5800X3D (also based on your reviews), and it's a great system. You guys always steer the consumer in the right direction, thank you!
Outstanding video! Thanks for the testing and data. I'm still glad I bought my Taichi Lite. As you said, outstanding feature set for the (relatively) low price. If nothing else comes out with more competitive features for a lower price, I'll be buying a second when I do another build for my wife around black friday.
Very grateful that someone takes the time and effort to test them. Waiting for the mini-itx. For the first time I'm thinking to come back to ATX from itx as the temps, W and heat seems to be rising in CPU and GPU every generation.
Thank you for your hard work Steve! I am on the path for getting my first new PC for a while, sitting on a i5-4670K right now... Will be an ITX build but might have a bigger brother in the ATX family. You are my go-to source for getting the parts, because I respect your work ethics and Actual testing instead of just reading promotion material. You ara appreciated, very much so! Thanks again!
Also worth looking at when choosing motherboards is troubleshooting LEDs. Good ones have two 8-digit LEDs, others just give you individual leds for RAM/Power/CPU and you have to go from there. Having no feedback is a no go for me, I don't want to spend hours guessing what is wrong.
Absolutely love the content, I have been using AORUS Elite AX (the first version) for a year thanks to your review las year. And thanks for shout out on the V2 cost reduction version, I think it should be a transparent information that some manufacturers wanna cut some corners after the huge success on the first version hoping that customers wouldn't notice it
@@patrickderp1044 To some of us it matters jack shit. I have a mouse and keyboard on the same wireless fob on the backside, and that's it. Literally. If I use my wired game controller I plug it into the USB hub on the monitor. I don't also have any USB sticks that are faster than USB 2.0....
You 're saying "I don't know why I do this" but let me tell you, your input is invaluable for someone like me: Haven't been up to PC hardware news for quite a long time. My PC is in need of an upgrade since it's a 10 y.o. platform. I live in a country with a smaller market so availability is hit or miss. And last but not least, a budget GPU is almost half of a month's wage. In view of those things, searching for advice and finding your videos on B650 motherboards (probably the best on the platform, if not the only one doing the round-up) is godsend. Thanks to you I've now narrowed it down to 3 models and I'm going to buy the cheapest one. Thank you!
I got the Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX V2 B650 and have loved it. Memory training is fast. No issues at all. Very good experience out of the box with my 7800x3d and G.Skill 6000 RAM.
Hardware Unboxed, you do not know how much videos like these help people buying new cccomponents with their hard-earned money. Cheers to you for all the hardwork
i love these motherboard big videos. helps a ton since not all the models available everywhere so testing this much of motherboards is a bless. thanks Steve 🙏🏻 the asrock pro rs and the pg riptide both are amazing and don't cost you a kidney.
the "$240" for the B650E Taichi Lite costs now after a 20€ price drop 310€. (which is the actual real price since the b650e taichi costs exactly the mentioned 364€ at the moment.
@@deceivedonegaming6105 Yes but it actually isn't 40 % because a sales tax will be added to the 240 $ which depends on the state. The sales tax seems to only be around 10 % or less though. I don't know if theres other taxes or things that will increase the price. Some US citizen can correct this.
The MB MASTER its BACK... sit down and enjoy this INCREDIBLE amount of work !! I always base my purchase on HU and I was NEVER dissapointed. Keep working guys , you are the best. Cheers from Italy.
I've got the Asrock B650 steel legend white pcb, great board, haven't seen it that cheap in the UK , I paid £229, great review, must have took a long time.
