I finally have the big brother/sister of my National F-EY129 fan! This fan is a part of my 4 Matsushita-made ceiling fans acquirement as in this video • Because Acquiring One ... . The 56" version is my real childhood fan as I encountered the 56" first before the 48" one. I was expecting will acquire the 56" version back when I found an ad that sells a used National industrial ceiling fan. But what can I do, I eventually got the 48" version first as in this video • 48" National Industria... . but the 48" version is also a huge childhood fan of mine as I remembered that I used to play with my relatives' National F-EY129s a lot in their old house. Although now I have two sizes of my childhood National ceiling fan, I never felt bored with them since they have an interesting design element compared to nowadays industrial ceiling fans, one of them is the polished brass medallion/center switch cap (whatever you wanna call it) that makes it looked a bit decorative for an industrial ceiling fan! Another interesting from this fan is the speed regulator switch that's veeeryyyy smooth to turn, and that smooth turn makes it satisfying every it gets turned! Although this fan has seen better days for real, I am still very happy with it and I can still reminisce my childhood times with it! Also, I have had the pristine unit version of this fan, precisely my 48" version of this fan as I stated before.
As the aforementioned condition of this fan, it has seen better days. The blades are rusted especially on the top side, other than rusted the blades are also a bit drooping. Then, the medallion/center switch cap has a faded logo and the glossy area has become dull, yet the medallion/center cap's support has broken as well (well, it's previously not broken actually, but I accidentally broke it during I'm washing the motor covers), which is why it looks crooked when it's spinning. Lastly, it has been yellowed. Most of the plastic surfaces have rotted, even much worse than my National F-560A1 back then. But, I decided to not restore these downsides. Why? Because I want to put a "daily-beater" concept to this fan 🙃🙃🙃. Well, as you may know, my National F-560A1 gets whitened by itself which makes the "daily-beater" concept on that fan not relevant anymore. But I just remembered that I still have this fan that's in much worse condition, so why not just move the aforementioned concept to this fan? 😉, and that's why a video regarding this fan you're now watching is not a pre-restoration video. The only thing that has been restored from this fan is the noisy bearings were have been replaced.
And although it has seen better days, this fan still has a plus point. It is surprisingly still very powerful! Well, the RPMs have decelerated just a little bit from the original RPMs, but it's still fast and blows a lot of air! I decided to not use the original speed regulator as I am too lazy to turn off the power source to be able to swap the KDK speed regulator with this National EY149's speed regulator.
