Hey man, thanks a lot for the ride through Des Moines! I live here and have been through town a 1000 times, but it's been a long while since I did so from the cab of a rig. I could feel the rumble, watching this was a visceral experience!

John, thanks for taking everyone through Des Moines. I live in Ames and you should have taken I-35 North to Minneapolis and honked as you went by. As you were driving on the bridge over the Des Moines river, that glass dome structure on your left is the Botanical Center. They've got a bunch of plants, flowers, trees, etc. in there. Have a good trip back to California.

Ya know, about the biggest attraction to your downtown route thru DM is the visual of the golden domed capitol building. It is quite spectacular on a sunny day.

Setting here at Rush Peterbilt in Tulsa waiting for Steve to come . My new Peterbilt came in its a 567 with 80 inch sleeper my first Automatic. So I thought what the neck watch a video are to . That is good John your company reloaded you hop they keep it up . Judging how I seen you praise your DM he needs to reload you . I can say this that would not happen on my watch . But I am thankful I don't have to do that . That's why I've leased to this company for 40 years now .

+Robert Bob Love Johnny tried to explain these new hours of service laws to me on our get together,,,and, I frankly still don't get it.. When I used to drive OTR, we ran paper log books, a lot simpler and no 34 hr stop. Simply changed things up by starting another book. He said his auto log computer is locked in stone, and you end up driving for the computer hours, not so much how you feel. I like Jesse's suggestion of a 12 on and 12 off, forget the re-set..For me, I would want 12 on and 8 off, as I cannot sleep more than 4 hrs at one time anyway.

Mark Bell I lease to Jesse's company. I worked for his Grand father then his dad now Jess. He is a good guy . He does tell you how it is . I respect that. He is smart when it comes to Logistical operations and he has good HR skills . I've stayed here because they seemed to do things right . I've been leased here for 40 years . I just got my 8 truck today traded my 389 for this 2016 Pete 567 with the 80inch sleeper this is my Last Truck it's 525 Cummins and Automatic Platinum interior 163k I have my baby dressed out

+Robert Bob Love Sounds like a real beauty, and Jesse does write intelligently within our little family with JBG. He probably is better than most to work for. I'm just hauling my own corn and soybeans locally with a '07 379 Pete with a 550hp kitty. Good running truck, but fuel economy wouldn't be up to par for OTR work. If I had had a lease for 40 years with anyone, I would have the best out there also. Did you pay cash for the boot?

Mark Bell Jesse was raised on a farm . When Jesse's grand father started the company it was in Cape Girardeau MO. They hauled Cattle as we say Bull haulers then started hauling for Angelica Uniform company and Brown Shoe company . The Farm was in Small Town Patron Mo. It was a big ass farm over 1000 acres . When Refeers came into play with company it was because of independent Packing company in St Louis Jesse's Dad was off in the Army for 32 years . Then he retired and came into the company . Jesse's Dad moved the company to a LTL operation and dedicated lanes. Jesse's aunt married Sam Tanksley Sam had big Trucking Company at the time he had all Peterbilt Cabovers . Jesse's Uncle started Barrett Trailers in Oklahoma I'm sure you herd of Barrett Live Stock trailers . When Jess got the Company in early 2012 his dad died the company was a stable company but needed a change . Jesse Started that process sold all the old equipment sold the Terminal in Cape Girardeau Sold the Farm to a St Louis Cardinal baseball player . Brought into the Computer age . Then he lives in the Philippines and in the USA also he stays busy ......

I am totally agreement they need to dispatch you in away you can run a round Trip with out doing a 34 hour reset and let you have 2 days at home and do it again . I do it all the time I run 550 miles a day I do it at 70 to 72 MPH I never reset . All WEL needs to do is dispatch at 50 MPH . Even Belgioioso knows we dispatch at 50 MPH I get more done because I am not resetting . That resetting is far the Birds .I I say if my wheels are not turning I am burning up money .

You hit the nail right on the head . Again the Key is planning and scheduling . The 34 hour resets kill you . If you are doing resets every week you are spending money unless you love the inside of your truck .

+Wally Gator Sr. I used to hate spending any time beyond necessary fueling at a truck stop..The money from my pocketbook starts flowing out in those places. They are geared to get the trucker, or anyone in their establishment to spend their money.
