I really don't know what to say. The opportunity to meet and film with you guys is so amazing. And now I see the result it's absolutely perfect and I love how you enjoy my car so much ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Thank you, guys!!!
@@TheSuperProgrammerLB i love Volvo V70's and Volvo in general but that thing is just insane. And that monster weighs over 1,5 tons normally, its a 300kmh brick
@@dritson5255 i own 2014 v40 and v60, its not the plastics that are hard but the frame and crash preventing "hydraulic bar" under the car. You can not see it but it is there
@@Dreamlink91 I had a 2003 V70 and 3/4 of it was written off in a low speed impact in town. I'm talking less than 30mph! Doors and wheel arch smashed in like a stamped on tin can, beyond repair had to be replaced. The Ford Transit van that hit the car barely suffered a scratch! Supposed to have impact protection bars in them. After that incident never bought Volvo again lost faith in their quality.
My 16 year old son purchased my old 2006 V70 R that I had built at IPD USA. Since they worked it my buddy & I (who was a Volvo tech for 8 years) installed a bigger inter cooler and an even nicer exhaust. He programed it to allow higher boost in "advanced" suspension mode. She's sitting at 430hp, just what every 16 year old needs right?! LOL Cool car!
@@RicoBanani he's 18 now. So many people bashing in here, don't they remember being kids themselves? I had a 400hp engine in my Chevy step side p/u, far less safe than his Volvo. 🤷🏼♂️
I'm always wondering what the truck drivers hear in the parking lot when you pass. You should put out a guy with a powerful microphone to record the passing sound at 300km/h. :D This is insane btw, I love it!
@@jaleger2295 my father owned 850 2.5 petrol and today had V70 2.4 D5 but he sad the 850 is better,he sad the more cubed the better it is made,850 forever because V70 was maded on his platfrom
I have been driving Volvo’s for 41 years, first one a 245 turbo station bought new in 1981. Drove it for 20 years. Driving a V70 5 cylinder now, love it.
Simply an astounding video! Amazing 186 MPH! I have a 2004 Volvo V 70. My mom was the original owner. It is near mint condition with only 33,000 original miles. I have had the car since 2015. I love the car and intend to keep it the remainder of my life, don’t need a new one!
Comfy is a bit of a stretch with this modification. Put kids and your wife in it and go for long extended trips... I bet they won't like the stiff springs for starters.
@@madmat0815Last year I had to drive 10 hours. My back was tired but not hurt. I drove different seats. My back hurted after 1-2 hours. I love the seats if my 2007 S60
I love the sound especially with manual transmission. My 850 R only has approximately 350 hp, but is a lot of fun anyways. My E55 has close to 600 hp, but man, the oldschool automatic ruins the experience! Soundwise I like the 5 cyl turbo as much as the V8! Very nice review!
Definitely make the change! I went from a 2.0T to a 2.3T5 and that's already a huge difference. The 2.0T is actually stronger between 1500-2000 RPM, so for economy driving and city driving it's a little pokier, but above that the T5 is a LOT of fun. Only swap if you don't mind the hit in fuel economy, because the 2.3T5 uses about 50% more fuel at the same highway speed.
What an epic build! I think that high RPM boost wall thing is a very P2 Volvo feeling and adds a bit of character. I love it! I have one of the dreaded T6 XC90s running a tune for 320HP (and a shift kit lol), so a lot less power, but man when you hit like 4500 with your foot to the floor...even the sound of the motor changes. If I had to have a car for b-roads, it probably wouldn't be a P2 Volvo of any sort. But on the freeway they are total locomotives.
His comment about these old cars when built properly are so much better than new cars is such a true statement 👌 yes the new cars with their dual clutch transmissions etc are quick but these builds are just si much mre exciting and fun to drive 😊
I ordered the new 2004 S60R sedan when I was in Germany. That car was fantastic on the autobahn....especially the brakes. I can't even imagine what this thing felt like....love it!!!
Give me cars like these anyday over freshly built supercars etc. Always amazes me what people can do with cars. Wish I had the knowledge to build a massive project of my own!
Always had a thing for these. The police used them over here, and naturally you heard stories of them being slightly modified, which was probably untrue. Anything with a turbo five cylinder is awesome.
Definitely loving this build, that 5 cylinder sounds so good all over the rpm range from idle, mid range to 7 grand. She definitely loves the autobahn over the narrow roads. 😍
@@motektomek IMO if it's not been engine swapped to some other drive train and is still running primarily Volvo parts...it is absolutely still a Volvo.
That's because an RS6 is in no way a sleeper. Yes, it is "just an S6"...but it really isn't. It's an Audi with an RS badge, and the moment you so much as put a loud exhaust on an Audi people who don't even know cars look at it and go, "oh, that guy wanna be fast." A V70R could drive around with the exhaust set to quiet and in the comfort tune...you'd never guess it had 500+ HP. They were kinda fast to begin with, but never really took off as a good platform to modify for power until more recently.
Even though I've been following you for a long time, I think this is the first time I've seen you excited about a car. Volvo great car! This engine is all!Yes, that's what we should see in the future, not 3-cylinder engines with 110hp-130hp.
Owned an ‘07 V70R automatic and loved it through 235k miles / 378km, getting both rear ended by a full sized pickup truck and t-boned by another pickup truck, and the one thing that killed it was the angle gear and transmission failing.
P2 Volvos are beasts....Volvo dropped the 'totally boxy' design, but still retained the Volvo engineering and 'heavy duty' feel to everything. These P2 cars if looked after will do HUGE mileage. My V70 D5 is currently on 439,000 miles xD
My tuned D5 from 2003 with 215hp and 450Nm is at 660.000km. Will run at 200km/h all day long without any problems using only 10 liter fuel per 100km. Very reliable engine.
I'm daily driving a V40 1.8 122hp and am honestly wondering what would be a nice upgrade. It's stock af and I am not the tuning type but deff into fast wagons.
all i can say is GOALS! been slowly building up my 2004 S60 awd with chassis parts, that alone has made my volvo a BLAST to drive. not to mention the exhaust partially gutted itself the week i got it, so she sounds a bit meaner than stock. definitely turns heads when a volvo breaks the tires loose when already in motion.
This is just insane .. and you look at rs6 that cost what over 40/50 k compared to 2004 Volvo damn … this car is such a insane build , well done !! I mean I don’t know how much build like this would cost , but it’s worthy for sure !!!!
I'm pretty sure this car cost just as much. A reasonably maintained -R is about €13k, add 2k for Stage 0 maintenance and in this case a brand new B5254T4 engine on top of that. All the mods must have cost a small fortune. The LSD alone is €1400 already!
2004 RS6 sells for $18-30k in the US. my e61 535i cost me $13k four years ago and will hit 600hp easy on stock engine internals..and those two cars are both longitudinal platforms
What a car.. Another crazy and awesome video. When the car pulls it's being very fantastic and insane! Also the drivers of the newly produced cars would be surprised when this badass Volvo smoke them on the roads lol
Interesting. So my 1994, Volvo 850SE 2.5 has some sort of tax exemption now because if its age? Any chance of a link please? That said, I am not exempt from Sadiq Khan's ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone).
Just found this, and now I think I know what my next project is! A few years back, my friend modified 240 sedan that looked almost stock but had a supercharged LS motor making near 600hp. The “smoke ‘em” scene in the first Fast and Furious would’ve been MUCH cooler if Paul Walker drove a tan 240 instead of an orange Supra! Nice job, Lars!
I just entered adulthood and I'm in love with Volvo. I hope I just get my hands quick enough on certain amount of money to let me buy V70R or S60R in good condition. I would love to have one in my life. Such awesome car, I would like to draw one, one day ^^
