How can we execute commands that requires administrator right ?

How can we check that the given command is executing or not . For example I have given a cmd which takes 10 hrs to complete, I need to check every 10 min whether the command is running or not , if its running I perform some operations if not running I will exit. Can you explain with an example

Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 2, in File "/usr/lib64/python3.6/subprocess.py", line 423, in run with Popen(*popenargs, **kwargs) as process: TypeError: __init__() got an unexpected keyword argument 'text'

How about the $PATH variable will that be same as we login to ec2 user, in my machine it is showing env of parent process?

Write a python script with all the commands... And then u can run it.. It will execute all the commands listed in that script..

@@networknectar But for each command it was executing in the new shell. I want to execute multiple command which depends on each other means i want to execute commands sequentially.

One way is put all the commands in a list , iterate the list with subprocess commands in it
