A cute little attenuator. OLED display and SMA connectors. Requires 5VDC and does not seem to remember the last setting of power up. This is a single chip design. 0-31dB

Thank you for the measured curve of the attenuator. Half-dB Steps with 6 bit up to 31,5 is what they have, maybe is is just left out for easier operation with the incremental switches .

If you really want to measure the attenuation accuracy of the device, normalize the the scope response to 0 dB to compensate for the insertion loss of the cables and the device.

I recently purchased a set of in line SMA attenuators for about $40. Wish i would have seen this first for $6 i would have tried it. Oh well on the plus side my attenuators are flat across the useable range of my SA and pretty dead on. I think yours was 1.5dB off at the worst. I known thats not much just trying to make myself feel better. Thx for sharing

I use inline attenuators all the time. I never use this thing

This looks like just the thing for my homemade signal generator. It uses the QRP-LABs VFO, GPS disciplined. thanks, Carl AB1ZI

I haven't seen these little boards before. Thanks for the preview. As for the bent connector, I've had stuff from overseas get bent like that due to poor packaging. File a damage claim and get a replacement.

Very cool. Grabbed one

Six bits would allow you to have 64 unique values. That's why it goes from 0 to 31.5 in .5 steps.

This would be great for a WSPR beacon to check antennas and propagation.

Thanks for a lot of good videos; but it would be nice if you would put a link, where to buy the giszmos you are testing. 73 de oz1gnn.

Hi there, many thanks for nice review. I'm looking for programmable attenuator but for range covering the both WiFi bands: 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Do you know any / can you recommend any?

hi ..i am a novice..i bought the vna and the tinySA.. i recently purchased a similar digital attenuator a DC-6G which i asdume is similar to the one you are testing..anyways i was told to purchase this to attenuate my Feeltech FY6800 signal generators output for generating a S9 signal to ssb a cb radios input...i csnt find any specs on what INPUT tolerance is on these digital attenuators? Please help me. cheers...ps could you test these with the TinySA? Andrew s

Hi and thanks for the video. I live close to tv broadcast tower in my area. Would this DYKB 1MHZ-3800MHz Digital programmable RF attenuator work for me in the USA?

I used that chinese attenuator, trying to reduce 10mw of an RF Pre-Amp output, for a 15 watt 87MHZ-108MHZ FM Transmitter Project , , i set it at -3db hoping to half the output, but it did not work, i got the full 10mw producing 20 watt , , , even at -10db, i still have the full 10mw, at -15 db i get 20 watt for 3 seconds then nothing, the needle drops to zero, , , when i get 20watt, i turn ithe power off after a few seconds to stop frying the MOS FET RD15HVF1 RF power Transistor, , , bloody useless chinese attenuator, , , i'm opting for a simple analogue Variable Attenuator 0-20dB that is used for 471-847mhz UHF TV frequencys, , , the specs say the Frequency Range is 5 - 1000Mhz, , , so i'm hoping it will work !!
