5G uses BPSK (binary phase shift keying). BPSK is one of the modulation techniques used in 5G, along with π/2 BPSK and other schemes like Quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK), 16-quadrature amplitude modulation (16-QAM), 64 QAM, and 256 QAM. BPSK is used for one bit per symbol, while 256QAM uses eight bits per symbol. 5G networks support a wide variety of modulation techniques for different applications with different rate requirements. For example, IoT (Internet of things) uses BPSK for low power working.
