Telit Cinterion is a global enabler of the intelligent edge. Our end-to-end IoT solutions encompass IoT modules, connectivity services and cloud platforms.
As a trusted partner to technology industry leaders, we deliver value throughout the IoT deployment life cycle. Our IoT modules enable customers to integrate cellular connectivity into their devices for various use cases.
The current market for mid-speed connectivity relies on LTE Category (Cat) 4. This technology provides a balance of coverage, performance and price. 5G, especially with stand-alone networks, offers optimized features, including:
- Better quality of service
- Ultralow latency
- Improved capacity
- Greater efficiency
- Enhanced security
However, from device and modem perspectives, 5G caters primarily to enhanced mobile broadband, which brings unnecessary complexity for mid-speed applications.
5G Reduced Capability (RedCap) steps into this gap to improve uplink performance for router and gateway applications. Moreover, RedCap can increase efficiency for battery-operated devices (e.g., cameras and telematics units). This technology is the definitive answer for devices that require long life cycles.
Telit Cinterion’s family of RedCap modules ensures seamless hardware integration and cover:
- LGA modules that are pin-to-pin compatible with their LTE predecessors
- Standard M.2 form factor cards
These dual-mode modules enable a smooth transition from LTE to 5G RedCap. They promise field connectivity and set the highest security and implementation standards.
Our product line supports embedded processing via the IoT AppZone, powered by Telit Cinterion. Our 5G RedCap modules offer leading, rugged edge solutions for industrial-grade applications.
