At the bottom of the transmission there is a bleeder valve correct? Or do I have to bleed the system else where?

@@mr.unknownidk5946 Bleeder valve is on the side of the transmission under the car. I'd recommend getting the bleed valve relocator

Great product. Why did you need a stage 3? Was there a great deal of power added to the car to create a need for the upgrade? I have a 2010 SS LS3 6 speed and I went with a Phastek stage 1 and a Phastek upgraded and lighter flywheel as a replacement, it is a major improvement over the stock clutch, especially with the Centerforce upgraded slave/release bearing combination. clutch engagement is flawless after being a little jittery during break-in. A great clutch it is.

We plan on adding some power to the car very soon. We went with the Stage 3 because we plan on a cam, along with all the bolts on's, and a healthy shot of nitrous.

What did you torque the pressure plate bolts too?

Alright good video it gave me an idea of what I was getting into. I would be awesome if you all had videos doing this from the ground like most of your customer base. But nonetheless still useful information to have and I’m glad I watched it. That being said, a few pointers for viewers: get ready to fight the driveshaft. My 2015 had short (1/16) nubs sticking out of the couplings on both the transmission and the rear end. I had to use a chisel and hammer to get the driveshaft to separate from them after the bolts came out. Also, for the pilot bearing, get the kind that goes on the end of a slide hammer. You will need to punch out one of the pins that holds the fingers in and grind down a very small amount on the other finger, then put the loose one in first and then the other, then put the pin in using a pair of channel locks. After that two good hits and it came right out. Also when your pulling the transmission out pay close attention to the wiring harness on the passenger side next to the bell housing. Before you start pulling the transmission back make sure it is well out of the way towards the engine otherwise it’ll be in the way and keep you from being able to pull it out and clear the pressure plate/clutch. Finally, if you’re replacing the slave cylinder or not, pick up a speed bleeder/bleeder extension from tick or summit. I can’t imagine attempting to bleed the clutch without it, and from what I’ve read is “the worst thing to have to do on one of these cars” Poke around the internet for torque specs and get yourself a bottle of blue and and a bottle of red loctite. Good luck.

Spot on Veromar. You should support the engine so it wilk not damage any components while your working on your car and measure the position of the transmission to the ground in the installed and removed positions, this will help in the alignment for the Trans installation.

Great video...the rack makes job less neck breaking.whats the best clutch slave cylinder quality wise..does the pedal feel stiffer with the stage 3 vs stage 1 and 2 .should the trans mount be upgraded or just replaced with new oem mount if needed..
@PhastekPerformance
@PhastekPerformance 3 года назад
We have always had good luck using the factory slave cylinder, even with all the high horsepower cars that we have built over the years. Its just a matter of making sure everything is working properly. The pedal will feel stiffer with a Stage 2 or 3 clutch kit, if you are needing the clutch to hold a good amount of power then we would suggest either one of those. It all just depends on the power you are making. As for the mount, we do suggest replacing it if you have higher miles. A factory replacement is all that might be available at the moment.

What about shimming the slave cylinder? Also doing all the measurements for the shims.
@PhastekPerformance
@PhastekPerformance Год назад
Shimming is not necessary for this clutch, there are some clutches out there that will require it but this is not one of them.

A little disappointed to see the Camaro TR6060 is using the same style throwout/slave assembly and semi remote mount shift as the 2007-2014 GT500. Had lots of problems with them in my GT500, and have been looking at a 5th gen as a replacement toy.

What flywheel do I get with stage 3? Affordable slave cylinder?
@PhastekPerformance
@PhastekPerformance 3 года назад
Typically we suggest a steel flywheel with most applications. We have come to find that the factory slave cylinder has worked out best unless there is extra pressure needed for the application.
