Thank you Ibrahim, i am waiting for the circumstance of wind AND time for more sailing... but thats a good Idea. A problem would be that we have almost very gusty conditions here where I can't measure the true wind, that makes it difficult to have a scientific comparison... but what I can tell by feeling: it's a huge difference.

Thank you Robert, today i've time to sail, yesterday the forecast tells something about 4-7kn wind --- and today? Nothing... fine weather over 20°C an absolutely no wind - nothing... 😟.

I didn't know exactly, at more then 2.5 Bft. it's gliding I guess. With one crew it's more save but needs about 3 bft breeze. The total sail area with gennaker is about 21m². In the moment the enlarged spars are very heavy, so stepping in the bow is a bit dangerous, also jibing at more wind. Next steps are replacing the wooden spars with carbon tubes. But first I have to spare some money for this step...

yes a bit. Reinforced the bow area with a second layer 6mm ply outside. Thats all.

@@aw-marinebootsbau3224 here is a link where you can see a more secure way, by doing that kind of 'half turn' so that the loose end becomes trapped under a secure turn, running parallel the previous wrap, you get a very secure connection that won't slip
