Ayo bro how much did it cost to get your headers and cam done. I have an l99 Camaro too. Trying to get a tsp 3 cam and ls3 conversion. Just don’t want to get ripped off by shops.
Honestly. Depends how if you want the best parts or not. I went with the more expensive parts so my build lasts. Like the trunion kit and Johnson lifters. Tsp Dod vvt delete kit. But ballpark you’re looking between 5k-10k depending if you can do some mods yourself. But don’t go cheap. And get a tune from a reputable LS shop.
I have a 2011 Camaro SS with a new GM performance LS3 495 horsepower crate engine with milled and CNC ported LS3 heads 11.1 compression ratio thats tuned and runs on E85 it has a built 6L80e transmission with a Circle D 4200rpm stall converter one piece aluminum driveshaft and a load of other upgrades it weighs 3920 pounds with me in it full interior and AC naturally aspirated all motor its best eighth mile pass was 7.22 at 96mph with a 1.65 60 foot with the stock 3.27 gears and a Eaton limited slip and the camshaft that this crate engine comes with is a pretty mild camshaft it redlines and shifts at 6600rpm it has ran 11.28 at 122.7mph in the quarter mile and does 123mph at 6600rpm in 3rd gear with the 3.27 gears these are all motor passes these 6L80e transmissions have a super low 4.03 1st gear transmission gear ratio so the need for more gear is so much less important you'll get more out of a modified L99 with a 3600+rpm stall converter than gearing 1st gear in a 6L80e transmission with stock 3.27 gears is much lower than a turbo 350 transmission with 4.30 gears now a 6 speed manual transmission in a LS3 has a 1st gear transmission ratio of 3.01 not the 6L80e 4.03 so putting 3.73 or 3.91 or 4.10 gearing in a manual works well and by using the stock 3.27 gears in a 6L80e transmission it cruises on the highway at 80mph at 2100-2200rpm like stock
@@Joshuapsalm my car with 3.27 gears shifts into 2nd at part throttle or street driving at 12-15mph if it had 3.91s it would shift into 2nd gear at 7-9mph if the throttle was pushed in the same position I'm pretty happy with my 3.27 gears and my 7.22 at 96mph eighth mile times my last car had 4.10s and a built 700r4 transmission can't say l miss it l like cruising at a relaxed 2100-2200rpm at 80mph on the high with my 6L80e and a lockup 4200rpm stall converter with 3.27 gears my 700r4 with a 3000rpm lockup stall converter with 4.10 gears tuned 2900-3000rpm at 80mph and was much less relaxed and much more high strung and the 3.27s are 3 tenths faster than the 4.10s were
@@Joshuapsalm l chose a higher stall converter on this car instead of 3.73s or 3.91s or 4.10s and l think it's the best of both worlds and with the stock 3.27s it is very streetable I'm not saying there are no full interior 5th gen Camaros NA that aren't faster with 3.91 gears but l don't know many even with 3.91s that are running faster than 7.22 at 96mph in the eighth mile with a full interior AC naturally aspirated
