5x20 Emma & Hook #5 

This scene breaks my heart every time. Colin and Jen are so wonderful together.

Why do I torture myself by coming back to watch this scene again between the two of them. Though things worked out as far as them finally being together in the end, this scene is still just too much.Why ?

This is the moment we died. *sobs uncontrollably*

Colin and Jen have such great chemisty on screen! When Hook let go of Emma's hand, I broke down in tears. Every single captainswan scene gets me!!

No matter how many times I watch this scene I'm in tears EVERY SINGLE TIME 😭❤️

The part that gets me every time is when the elevator is rising and Hook is trying to grab her hand for as long as possible but gives up cause he can’t reach! That part is just soul crushing!

First I have to say Jennifer & Colin performance was beautifully done. 💖 This good bye was so heart breaking, for them looking forward to a beautiful future together & then having taken away from them. Then the both of them putting each other first to make sure they will be ok, Killian making sure Emma doesn't shutdown and Emma want Killian to move on so he won't be trapped in the UnderWorld. And those three kisses on the hand really broke me😭💔😭💔😭💔

Can I just mention something for a moment. I read that this scene was shot at 3 in the morning. It was so emotionally exhausting that the tears you see from Colin were actual tears because he saw how much Jen was crying. That is when he came up with the hand kissing scene. This are really feelings people. And every time I watch this scene, I think about this and it makes it that much more emotional for me. Bravo to Colin and Jen for this!

Such a beautiful scene and very heartbreaking. They finally know that the love they share is "true" only to be separated from each other yet again. These two broke my heart. Killian kissing Emma's hand had me in tears. Jennifer and Colin were magnificent

the way emma says “i love you too” breaks my heart everytime. JMO is such a good actor she genuinely sounds like she’s in pain.

i keep coming back to this scene because its so heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. the way killian looked when emma made him promise to move on. the way he pushed emma to the elevator without even saying i love you, probably cause hes afraid he might not be able to let go, and losing control when emma stops the bars. the way his breath just starts to become heavy when the elevator starts to go up. the way he just cries while looking up at the elevator, even when emma is no longer there, a small hope that he'll be able to see her again.

This was such a heartbreaking scene. I was so sad when Hook was stuck in the Underworld. I loved the part when Hook kissed Emma's hand, which I know now wasn't scripted.

I rember when I first watch this scence ages ago I seriously thought that was the last we were going to see of hook I didn't expect him to turn up in future episodes I was so happy when he reunited with emma

No I'm not crying... there is just something in my eyes... and someone is cutting onions...

While this is heartbreaking (and it IS, gosh, I cant get over how they keep reaching for each other), I genuinely believe it was necessary. Emma had an almost- no, basically an unhealthy attachment to Killian: she turned him into the Dark One so she wouldn't loose him, and even when she actively helped him die she still went after him. "That's not enough for me!", she cried, and while she absolutely CAN feel this way, she is perfectly in character not wanting to loose anyone else, she HAD to let Killian go! Even Liam, for all his flaws, reminded Emma of this, asked her if she would be able to let him go. It's what they - but Emma especially - needed to do so their relationship could be balanced and healthy again. Part of me wonders if this whole attachment thing was because of the way she saw him die in the Author's Alternate Realm and was traumatized by it, rejected even the idea of loosing him... which led her to act as she did in 5A. The point is, the entirety of season 5 has been about Emma loving Killian but being able to move on if need be, and same for him. Only when they both could do that could they be together again, knowing that they would remain strong whether together or apart. While both are a very important part of their happy endings, they aren't each other's ONLY happy endings. Killian's happy ending is to be a man of honor (and she inspired him yes, reminded him of who he wanted to be, and it was shown here as he helped her from beyond the grave and honoring her wishes for him to move on), and Emma's is finding her home, her family, not being a Lost Girl anymore, basically what she was at the end of 3B. Killian can be a part of it, yes, but her happy ending is to *belong* and have a family. And Emma basically sacrificed it all and isolated herself in 5A in her need to save Killian because she was so unhealthily attached to him. She simply had to learn to let go, harsh as it sounds. What better way to do that than to know she tried her best and it still wasn't enough? She had no choice but to let go, to move on, after failing to do that (dishonoring his memory even) twice this season. Most importantly, Emma had to learn to do exactly what Killian said: not close herself off just because she lost him. It's what she did after Neal and it cost her so much. She put her happy ending into a single person, into "Tallahassee", and it destroyed her (the flashback should have been about Emma looking for Neal there, instead of her parents, keeping the basic storyline. Like the EP Tallahassee, let it contrast her reactions to each of them here). She's doing the same mistake here, and Killian is reminding her to not go that path again. He loves her, he loved breaking down her walls, but he ISN'T her only happy ending and she can still enjoy it and be happy even if it is without him. ... It really doesn't make watching this scene any easier though. After everything they went through, having to leave each other behind... this scene hurts me like no other, not even the 5A finale. It's so beautifully done, props to Jen and Colin.

things i found beautiful in this scene: 1. Killian was going to wait for Emma. If she didn't make him promise that he would move on he would've waited for her so they could move on together. 2. Emma knows that Killian was going to wait for her, meaning that they would see each other again, but this time she wants him to be happy even if that means she won't see him again. 3. Killian Jones, the pirate who always TAKES what he wants, chose to let Emma go because he knows that she's got a family that she loves and that loves her. This is the scene where they truly let go of each other and I adore the fact that Zeus sends him back because it solidifies the fact that they really were meant to be.

well, despite how much I'm still mad at Emma and completely agree with Hook's words about the huge mess she made back in Camelot and especially her actions at the beginning of season in Storybrooke, still I couldn't help feeling sorry for her during this scene💔and I think I should blame Jennifer Morrison for it👏👏👏
