This is so true. Many of times DIY people (like me at times) fail because they want something that will last a millennia and over engineer it to the point its never finished or lose patient and bodge it in the end defeating the object. This is a reality check for many and Im sure this building will be standing way beyond my days. No nonsense indeed! its fabulous!
Absolutely beautiful mate. Others have commented on your no nonsense style, which is one of the reasons I am subscribed. You don't need to sell yourself.... your work ethic, attention to detail and the finished product sell themselves. Keep the vids coming 👍👌
I Thought for a minute that TV was at a bit of a piss but better judgement that a savy chap like you would not do this made me think twice... Its the slant of the roof lol. That looks lovely. Well done that man!
@@thegardenroomguru I know mate. Ideally a kind of fake level ceiling would ideal but I suppose one must keep in with permitted developments and what not and make the most of it. Very nice Job :)
Did you know you can 'edit out' your bloopers :) Great video ... love the content, and love the 'honesty' of not being too 'polished'. You build great garden rooms, not fancy videos without substance :)
They do look good but would require planning permission in England in most cases due to height. William's builds are designed to come within the 2.5m limit to save having to apply for planning.
Is this client expecting a zombie apocalypse? Thought you were going to open a hatch to an underground bunker. Jokes aside, amazing work can't fault a single thing.
Really lovely! Giving me some ideas for my own build. Did this one require planning as it looks higher than 2.1m inside when you’re standing up? Also, where is the metal cladding on the back from - that’s a neat idea! Many thanks.
What's the smallest gap I need to allow to the back wall for cladding? My back wall and left wall are solid block 2m high and I would like to build as close as possible to them to maximize garden space. Also is the water just draining in the ground at the back of the building? Great work, love the videos 👍🏼
Do you think this would fit a 7ft pub pool table in and leave space for other things like a bar and seating? Looking at buying your build pack for a 5x3.
Lovely job compared to most of the rubbish I see on job sites these days...only small criticism I’d say was it was a shame the letterbox window wasn’t a tad lower as to loose the slope angle on the roof a bit more to the eye and not keeping the pins from the paslode gun in a level line on the feature wall but like I say great job and that’s me being really fussy 👍🏻 overall spot on
The cedar feature wall looks brilliant in there, how did you go about making that Liam, is the cedar just spaced and nailed straight to the plasterboard?
Love the light switch, do you mind me asking does that require its own hub or is it independent and works with the normal lighting, lovely build by the way
Just asked John, he knows stuff, I just build it! He said the light switch talks to the router in the garden room that talks to the app on the phone🤷🏻♂️ if it plugs in, It doesn’t work for me 🤣
Love to know what that cost? Minus the tech etc. I'd want exactly the same. However, just the other way round (doors going the other way and single window on the other side). If anyone has any idea what this cost, be great to find out. Got to be £20k surely??
With the spec of insulation on these (100mm in floor and 25mm on walls) I think there might be 100mm in roof too, there shouldn’t be much of a cold bridge to cause condensation
If the building is 30sqm or over 2.5m tall it connected to the house would need permission. If it's less than this it could be permitted development. If it's 15sqm and under it won't even need building regulations unless it's closer than 1m to the boundary in which case It needs to be non-combustible materials. The last thing is the the footprint of your house. For permitted development you Can only build on up to 50% of the total land including extensions and out buildings. Each area might have slightly different room.
