Stick this in a random spot on a server and hook it up to a command block that destroys the entire world. Can you find it and break it before doomsday?

You're probably *aware* of this but I'll mention anyways just in case: When you make an observer-observer clock it runs slower when placed by the player. If the observers get connected by a piston push they pulse at a higher frequency.

You should make an obsidian "Pandora's" box - it gives a signal to blow up the tnt only when the box is opened. So effectively it lasts as long as your curiosity will hold.. but you wouldn't know this until you look in the box. In theory it could last infinitely long...

Reminds me of the Etho Hopperclock chain that would last longer than the heat death of the universe. Aaand I just remembered my own mortality and became sad. :(

Seth sensei, for the "no excessive randomness" requirement you could just say the circuit (or at least the length of time to complete it) has to be deterministic Then you'd have fairly rigorous documentation and less subjectivity

I wonder how much longer the designs would be if they were allowed even one more vertical level. Say sethbling you ever tried your hand on Dwarf Fortress-puting? The water physics and minecarts and creatures can be used to create some pretty amazing stuff I've seen space invaders and someone was saying that it might be possible to get a full processor going with a limited ammount of opcodes

A 3x3 would actually be harder (and more useful) I think, but there's more space for creativity and strange designs with 5x5.

For the observer clock idea, just instead of turning the clock off and on, turn off and on whether the machine is reading the output. Then it shouldn’t break.

Next challenge: vertical 5 by 5 (x=1 y=5 z=5)

At 5:57 you should have replaced the sandstone with 2 droppers pointing into the hopper and the other dropper. It would still function the same because redstone can pass through it and it would put 1 item inside of the hopper/dropper every time the hopper clock switches :p Same goes for 12:23

I think when it comes to the oddity with the honorable mention, it probably has to do with whether the block was placed on or off of a redstone tick, as redstone updates 10 times a second while the rest of the game updates 20 times a second (unless lagging, but even so redstone ticks are 2 normal game ticks). The piston will pretty much always line it up with the redstone tick. Without doing something like a 0-tick pulse I can't think of any way to automatically line it up 100% with the off-ticks.

Using unbreaking III shouldn't influence the timer by more than 1%. Because it is used so much, stochastic theory tells us that the total time it takes is very consistent. In fact, most digital watches uses random processes (atom decay) to keep time with.

Can you make a vertical 5x5? If so you could do a sand block falling through cobwebs infront of an observer.

How are people so good at redstone? I am really bad at working with redstone and stuff.

Can the player be inside of the 5x5, like with a bed, then he respawns and dies of hunger, and that is one cycle, but we can add more than that.

Well now I want to know how many exact timers there are in a 5x5 flat space and how much coverage there is across the different distinct timer tick counts. Can you make a timer that counts for an exact number of ticks across 50% of the range of possible tick counts between 1 and the max? If I need a timer that goes off in exactly 117 ticks, can it be done? 118? etc?

I can make it so it never ignites, aka, infinite time. Do I win?

I don't understand how someone can make these times my best attempt was around 8 day timer but how can someone get more than a month

A lot of designs would break when the obsidian ceiling is added because of torch powering via corner blocks?

Massive brain, just put a minecart in a wooden pressure plate with a torch invertor leading to the tnt, and pray for a lightning bolt to fall on the minecart so it breaks and the tnt activates, ez win

I’d think weighted pressure plates would let you do up to base 15 counting, but there’s no way to remove the items and reset a digit. Mighty shame hoppers only work from underneath. Also a mighty shame you can’t detect the amount of items in a hopper.
