If someone confused like me about page size at 9:34 then here is the explanation --> "Size of a Location and Size of a Page are two different things. We have a separate address for each Location and can have a base address for a Page. A Page is made up of Locations." I realised this after watching the video twice and spending some time :) Also at 9:04, it is "64" and not "32". Thanks, sir for such a great explanation and god bless you. Also, a humble request to complete this series by covering other important topics like multithreading, kernel, etc. After studying from Knowledge Gate I started enjoying these subjects. My college teachers made these subjects quite boring while teaching in the class and forced me to consider these subjects waste. But a good teacher like you can make anything interesting. Thanks again :)

Here i want to say something , if the page size is 1kb then the secondary memory size equal to 2^24×1kb and the main memory size is 2^16×1kb because the page size is ramain same in the secondary memory as well as in the main memory also.

yes it should be 64 but its a small un intentional mistake, other than that the knowledge shared is excellent, the energy level is also good.

Thank you very match, but i have question what was the main memory was it hard disk(but you say it is smaller than secondary memory) or cache or RAM, and what was secondary memory? I did not see previous videos(before 22)

Hello sir, I only have one question. Why is that value ( here 10 bit in your example) which is used to address a each location in page table becoming the value of instruction offset?? i.e. Offset = 10 bits???

d is instruction offset i.e. the instruction no. in a frame If 1 page's size = 2KB Then there will be 2^11 instructions ( if memory is Byte addressable ( mostly, by default ) ) And 2^11 instructions need 11 bits to represent them hence d = 11

5:50 after dividing bhi I don't think we can go directly to a sector. Aise toh then directly goto that memory block.

Sir but in one of previous videos you told that no of frames = no of pages .. But here in this example it is not so The statement said was while teaching page table that the no of indices a page table contains= no of pages in secondary memory and page table contains frame base address so no of pages should be equal to no of frames Please clarify this doubt... Request sir

no of pages in logical adress is no of pages in a single process or whole of secondary process??

No. of pages in a process because if it total processes in secondary memory then there should be another field in logical address which is process no.. Like this Process no | page no | process offset.

7:58 - 8:37 We have 24 bits, so the combinations is 2^24 bits which is 16 Mega Bits not Mega Bytes ! So actually we have 2 MBytes !

Sir could you please help me out solve the following question...This is gate 2013 question.. A computer uses 46-bit virtual address, 32-bit physical address, and a three-level paged page table organization. The page table base register stores the base address of the first-level table (T1), which occupies exactly one page. Each entry of T1 stores the base address of a page of the second-level table (T2). Each entry of T2 stores the base address of a page of the third-level table (T3). Each entry of T3 stores a page table entry (PTE). The PTE is 32 bits in size. The processor used in the computer has a 1 MB 16 way set associative virtually indexed physically tagged cache. The cache block size is 64 bytes. What is the size of a page in KB in this computer? A) 2B) 4C) 8D) 16

While computing size of SM, why do we multiply 2^24 with size of each location instead of page size? Please solve this doubt. Please

beacuse inside 24 bits both bits for total page(14) and bits of pages size(10 as given 1 KB and it is byte adressable) we can get size of SM through (2^14 * page size ) = 2^14*1KB = 16MB

yes, because size of page = size of frame and main memory is divided into equal no. of frames.

size of memory = total no of blocks in MM or 2^n * size of 1block, size of location is actually not correct way to say but its the (size) no of bits required to represent MM address that is "n" page size is the fixed partition in which the Memory (primary and secondary) have been divided , page size = block size = frame size

In question number 2: 2k is equal to 2 raise to power 10 not 11.

Agar koi ads pe click krta hai ya fir skippable ads ko atleast 30 seconds dekhta hai to youtube creator ko paise deti hai. RU-vid khud advertisers se paise leti hai for a certain amount of ads clicked/viewed(Ex 1000$ for 10000 views). So har 10 ad click ke youtube ko 1$ milta hai jisme se wo 45% rakhte hai and 55% channel creator ko milte hai.
