With the hotdog you could have built a old style hotdogger. It worked by placing the hotdogs on metal probs strips on e on each side of the hotdogger than plug it in. The electricity cooked them

And about the cracked egg shells to clean a bottle? I went out and brought some small pebbles inside and put in colander to clean them then I put them in a bottle with a funnel and water and dawn soap and shake it up really well..You don't need a lot of water..then pour the pebbles into the colander and keep in a small bowl on window sill to use again...then of course rinse out the bottle.
