There is so much potential in most of those co-working spaces but people not interacting is just sad with there being so much potential to make new friends and discover new ideas.
Hey Chris, thank you for the info. Could you please clarify. I am looking at moving to Cambodia in around 5 year min, to set up business. I would prefer Thailand but the foreigner rules business are very sticked and leave the foreigner open to financial jeopardy. I am surprised that digital nomad cafes or open work/share spaces are so transparent. As my understanding is, if you don't have a work/ business permit (can't get without 51% Thai partner) you are breaking Thai laws. I have been informed that even sending work related email is illegal if you are on a holiday visa, even voluntary work is illegal on a holiday visa. Am I being misguided by youtube rogues? Would appreciate your input
Hi Michael. It's a bit of a grey area but generally speaking. If you work online and don't do business directly with Thailand you'll be fine. Obviously, if you hire a Thai person, do business in Thailand or become hired yourself you need the appropriate work permits or VISAs. Most of us however, work for companies and get paid into bank accounts completely separate from the countries we choose to work in.
man, thanks so much for this vid. you just saved me hours, maybe days, of research. do any of these places rent you a second monitor? I'm going to need one. I'll buy one if it's not possible, but I'd hate to have to carry it around with me each day to and from the work-space
