When you freeze breastmilk, make sure you write down also the time you pumped it. The reason for that is; In the evening your milk has more melatonin so the baby sleeps and daytime milk has more cortisol to stay up. When u pump and freeze u dont know which one you are giving the baby afterward, if you give daytime milk at night baby is going to be up and vice versa👍🏼 Make sure u write down the time🙏🏼
My daughter had twins & mostly breastfed (supplemented with formula a little - extra vitamins as they were preemies). She is a rock start to me & the girls are happy & healthy kindergarteners.
The ones who breast feed. Anyone can get pregnant have a baby and feed it formula. I don’t know why she is using a bottle at all… I have four and none of them ever drank from a bottle or had a dummy. They went straight from breast to solids
I breastfed all three of my daughters but I’m not gonna lie-that was 28 years ago and breastfeeding was just starting to come back “en vogue”. There weren’t near the resources available that there are today and I struggled hard. But I wouldn’t give up because deep down I knew it would help my babies in the short and long run. I suffered through mastitis with my first which was so hard and caused one breast to lose production significantly. I had to rent a powerful breast pump from the hospital because the manual pumps were just so exhausting. It was a part of my life I look back on and I can say I’m proud I did it and I have three beautiful healthy 20 something’s now to show for it. If you’re struggling with breastfeeding and you decide to give up don’t feel ashamed or like you are less than but do give it your all and not quit prematurely as it’s one of the most rewarding things in this life for a mother. ❤
I've done this 6 times. Well, technically 5 times. I gave birth the first time at age 17 and gave my tiny newborn up for adoption, placing her in the home of a loving adoptive couple who'd been trying unsuccessfully to concieve for nearly 10 years. That was a different type of postpartum experience altogether. I remember my mother ripping a white sheet into a long, wide strip and helping me wrap it tightly around my chest as a binding to help dry up my milk supply. She pinned it in place with two large safety pins while tears ran down both of our faces. I remember my body feeling like a hollow, empty bag of skin and the heartache that penetrated my whole soul. Postpartum is hard even under the best of circumstances, postparum mom's in every situation need all the love, help and support they can get.
Hopefully you'll be able to stay home 24/7 with your baby, so you won't need to pump milk on a "regular basis". That said... pumping encourages MORE milk production so it's best to avoid, if possible - unless you're going out for dinner & hiring a sitter, or having to work or go to school, etc.,... I nursed 2 daughters back in the early 80's and was successful with both. It's not only natural, it's a BONDING EXPERIENCE with your child that will last for life, so enjoy! (1) I'm not gonna lie - my tiny boobs turned into "hard grapefruits" when they became engorged as the milk first came in, and not only was this NOT comfortable (at all!), the milk would literally squirt out by itself, about 2" from my body. It was like, "Quick, grab a clean washcloth!!" 😅 But this all went away, after a short time! Guess the body just needs to adjust to the whole "supply & demand" thing.... 😊
Omg . My baby is 4 months old now and this makes me cry. It’s such a twilight zone of being sleep deprived, stressed but so grateful and filled with love …. Just makes me so emotional and brings me back. ❤
@@tracy3418 She’s almost 5 months old and still gets up two times for a feed! The first month is the hardest so it’ll only get better ❤️ xx still get tired with waking up at 7am ish but 🤣
Question to the Mommy's having tough sleeping schedule, how are you putting them to bed? Are they being kept awake as much as possible during day? I totally feel the no sleep pain. My daughter had colic. Talk about HELL ON EARTH! but my son, he was a breeze. I started adding the SMALLEST amount of baby cereal to his bottles at bed time, (he was 4 months) made sure I gave him a night time bath with warm water and lavender (I Believe it was lavender) it helps relax them, followed by a nice warm, -not to thick- bottle, I'd wrap him NICE AND TIGHT in his snuggle blanket and he slept 6 full hours the first night, and 7+ the second night on. I was up before him, thinking something was wrong because he was still asleep LoL. The little things do add up to make a difference!
@@ZipurLip my son is still a newborn. Pediatrician says we have to wake him up to feed at least every 4 hours. He does better on some days than others. Some days he is wide awake and ready to party until midnight. He's still a noisy sleeper too so it's challenging.
Omg really? i absolutely loved it maybe because my baby rarely cried and night feedings were easy cause I’d just put her on the boob idk but i miss it lol
Great job 👏 👍 👌 I had sooo much milk I was asked to donate to the NICU. Considering that it helped pay the bill for the hospital, it was a win win. NICU babies really thrive on breast milk. Wish more moms knew that they could donate it to the preemies ❤
My daughter had a a preemie so her milk didn't come in properly what she had she gave him but she accepted donated milk best thing ever my grandson is perfect doesn't look preemie just a normal little chunky baby thanks to women like you who donated and helped him survive ❤❤❤
I tried to donate milk (I wasn’t even eating dairy!), but because I was taking a prescribed medication that is okay to have when breastfeeding (Nifedipine) I was told I couldn’t donate. You basically can’t be taking any prescriptions if you want to donate to hospitals where I live.
Remembering those days with my two newborns, the most intense exhausting incredible moments of my life. Bonding with the two people I'd take a bullet for without batting an eye. Now grown men, but those feelings never change. Best gift ever.
Omg 6 days in and you’ve got that much milk coming in? You’re very blessed! Fingers crossed I’ve got that kind of milk supply too once I have my babies!
What a dream. I had twins in the winter followed by a terrible bout of the baby blues. All joy and relaxation drained out of me in an instant. Sending your mommy vibes out to those who need them ❤️ Congrats
Having twins completely changes the mothering experience. The mother-baby dyad doesn’t exist in the same way because there’s hardly any time to focus on one child. I hope you’ve gotten the support you need! Mothers of twins clubs can truly be a lifesaver!
@@saltcitysunshineI have twins too. I'm only a few weeks in and I can't fill up 1 bottle... Let alone 4/5.babies are on me to feed when ever an opportunity is present. Had planned on not introducing formula so soon... But it's existence is a life saver 😢. I don't know where I'd be if combination feeding was not possible
@@nycolekgwadi5533find a moms of twins club if you can. And say out loud, “I’m doing the best I can in this moment, and that’s all anyone can expect of me.” And know that the bad and stressful memories fade and the good ones stay. 💗💗
@@nycolekgwadi5533congratulations times two !! It must be soo challenging. Good job momma just doing the next good thing . Hope you have some help and get that rest every chance you get , two months is around the corner and it’s like a flip switches for most to feeling like yourself ! ❤️😊🙏
@@nycolekgwadi5533don't be hard on yourself. Way back in the day they'd have to decide which baby was stronger and more likely to survive, you get to feed and sustain your two babys with the help of combo feeding. That's amazing!
Just wait until he’s double that at 8! lol Now I miss the 4 year old energizer bunny days🥲. He’s still got the energy, that remains the same, just way bigger and less cuddly…I can still get a cuddle just not like when he was 4! Enjoy every moment 💙
What a wonderful example. I wish they had had these bags for my Mom back in the day. They were three of us!😬So glad you can manage like this. It seems like some work to possibly pump, label, and store, but you’re doing something for that child that no other nourishment can do.😊
I’m so curious as to why I see so many breastfeeding mums pump as well? For me as a mum who had to bottle feed one baby the absolute relief of dispensing with all that palaver for the simplicity and ease of breastfeeding alone was such a relief!
I feel the same way. I feel it must be so others can feed the baby too, like when the mom or both parents need to go somewhere or so the dad can feed the baby during the middle of the night so the mom could sleep.
Sometimes you have more milk than baby needs right then. So you're swollen and need to release the milk , but baby's full and doesn't want to nurse. So you pump instead and save the beast milk for sometime when maybe your in the shower , or maybe Dad could feed the baby. Also when the baby's a lil older Mom and Dad could go out for a date night or something and the babysitter can feed the baby with the saved beast milk. Also you can donate beast milk to premature babies in the hospitals and there's a market for it online as well for Moms who want their babies to get the benefits of beast feeding , but they can't because they don't produce milk or maybe just not enough milk. So yea
My breast always gave a lot of milk even when I'm not feeding or if I'm feeding onside the amout that just drips on its own could feel 2 to 4 ozs plus after breastfeeding on demand 4 times I rather others be able to help me cause breastfeeding has driven me crazy while running a home.
I truly appreciate this video. I just went on Amazon and purchase everything that you had on this video for my postpartum. I even love the babies little pillow. Thank you.
@@zani448they are breast pads/ nursing pads, they keep you from staining and wetting all your clothes since your boobs will leak breast milk every couple hours
@@zani448they expire milk, you can also get them in reusable. You can get them for example from "lansinoh" or "medela", like the freezer bags for milk.
@@zani448which ones? The ones she put in the bra are nursing pads, the wet ones she took out and said “life saver”, are witch hazel pads that you put on top of your pad in your underwear for healing.
WHOA! You are producing like a Factory! Awesome job, Mommy! What a gorgeous blessing, your little AngelFace is!!!! Gosh, how I miss those days ! 🥹😢😭😭😭Savor every second of it, because it will change, week by week! At 2 weeks, I called my Nurse crying, that my little AngelFace had already changed a lot. 🥹😭😁
Поздравляю 🎉 у нас дочь (25 лет) и два сына (23года и 16 лет)! Как же быстро они выросли!!! Счастья вашей семье и здоровья девочкам! Пусть растут в любви и заботе!!!🎉
My nursing friends told me to use nursing pads or my husband's hankies for unexpected let downs. I was young and didn't understand but I soon figured out I could hold my arms against my breasts and press. If I did this before baby started crying I could stop the huge leak down the front of my clothes.
100% worthwhile. We are built for it and it is best for our babies for us to bond and cuddle and nurse them with liquid gold. Breastmilk is so magical.
Your home is so simplistic, cozy, and welcoming. I’m not a mom yet but these videos are helpful. God bless you and your beautiful family. May his blessings and peace pour out on you in this season❤
Some people do not use the freezer on their refrigerator. We for instance have a chest freezer and a free standing freezer that we use. It is easier for organization of your freezer also.
You are doing fabulously! I breast-fed three kids who all gained weight in the hospital! Your breasts are better behaved with the second and subsequent births. Pressing firmly the over the center of your non-feeding breast helps hold the milk back until the letdown passes. Nursing in a side lying position is one of my other favorite tips! it was especially helpful since I had to have three C-sections. I would nurse the baby on the breast closest to the mattress then lean forward to feed from the second breast. I usually changed the baby in the middle of feeding to help it stay awake. Babies have total suction from mouth to bum so when they’re feeding they often blow out their diaper. You can easily burp baby by just sitting it up against one hand while patting its back. 💞
My eldest son is 35 years old, and breast pumps were manual, and the breast pads were the ones you slip into the bra---they would move up over the bra and you had to keep adjusting them. 😂
I remember those days,I loved breast feeding too,it’s so much better than formula, plus it’s a one on one for mommy and baby! It’s nice that you freeze it for whatever you have to leave baby! Congratulations on your new little bundle of joy ❤❤❤
If you're experiencing that much leakage we all know babies grow out of newborn diapers extremely fast and usually alway have extras left over try using those in place of the breast pads. They also help to keep the moisture away from the nipples so you don't get so sore and helps keep the bacteria from the dampness away. I was told once that I was weird because I always wiped mine before and after feedings. But it was just my preference.
Muy orgullosa de ver que eres tan joven y que hayas tomados es desicion de alimentar a tu bebé con leche materna la mejora desicion . Que Dios te bendiga a ti y tu familia🙏💐
I realized pumping definitely gives you an oversupply I pumped and breastfed for first 3 months and had way too much milk haha then when I just breastfed after that just right 👍 👌

I to breastfeed my two babies. My first was 9 # 12 oz. I had so much milk in just 12 hours of emergency c section. After 37 hours of labor. All i had was a La Leche book and a manual pump which did not help. I had to hand express and couldn't get much. Not enough to freeze . Would leak through 2 pads and down my cloths. I always said i could feed the county. My second born in 82 nursed 3 1/2 and she did not want to stop then. She now has 3 children and had a difficult time breastfeeding. She even rented a hospital grade pump that didn't help. She loved to breastfeed. I would supplement the baby like the pedestrian recommended so she wouldn't get confused. ❤
