Honestly, when I first got interested in learning some cool Death Metal riffs, I started with Spirit Crusher by Death. Some pretty easy and cool riffs in that song
Mr Smith, best om the youtube. I watched your previous tutorials, and with very simple means they opened up a whole new metal universe for a beginner. Thanks!
Hello, I am a beginner and I am a little confused. In the first riff he is pressing the second string but picking the first string, how do you know what strings to pick?
Thanks Simon! As a new guitar player I've had endless fun learning and mastering these riffs, i watch this video STILL, never gets old, you're the man! 🤘
I’ve been a huge fan of death metal and always wanted to learn guitar since 2008 and I always put it off and did other things but I finally got one and the time has come to sit here start from level one and earn my skill
Thanks for this video! I'm still new to guitar so I have to learn all the basic chords and techniques still and it gets quite boring so having something awesome that's easy enough for me to play is really motivating and helps break up the tedium of learning the basics.
Bolt Thrower really are perfect to learn this style , not over complicated but brutal with most of the fundamentals of the genre. Plus they have many great foot tapping, head nodding riffs to learn. 🤘
Everytime I think I could do a new Lesson on RU-vid, I search and end up on your channel 😅👍 And that for many years now. So, thanks alot for the absoluetly great content 🙏👍🎉🎉😎
Wow your first lesson and going to go straight into death metal. ok. Mind you I've been playing for to years and I only learnt to chug two months ago. I wanted to play rock and that's what I do but then I got into metal as well.
Still my all time favorite death song. The riff is brutal yet catchy, and the "why don't you" section just makes you want to punch something, or put the pedal to the floor while driving.
@@craigpaulson3503 So simple too. It just goes to show that a good guitar tone and rhythm that you can headbang/tap your foot to is the key to an awesome riff.
Nice video for beginners... I can play all the riffs but I really enjoyed your teaching method... You should do more teaching videos of song and theory as well, keep rocking... Greetings from Italy (sorry for bad English)
So glad I've come across you're channel!! So keen to practise this, jjst subbed! Be sick if you could make a deathcore/metalcore for beginners you haven't already (havent searched ya channel yet haha)
Man this awesome. Wish I decided to learn these riffs earlier when I first watch the video months ago but not sure what happened. Better late than ever tho
If such lessons had existed in the 90s it would have been so much easier to figure out how some riffs are being played. All you got were Songbooks and the heaviest stuff you could get as Tabulature was Slayer. For everything else you have to sit down listen and try.
I used to have one but sold it. Kept the EHX Pitchfork though, but wanted all of these to be in standard tuning so beginners didn't have to keep adjusting their tuning 🤘
Hey thanks man, great video, glad I found you and subbed! I'm new to playing death metal and I know these originals are tuned down from standard but are they played the exact same way on the fret board as you are playing? TY
Thanks this rocks I just got a guitar for Christmas and don't know how to play anything- but so adore black metal and think its really such beautiful music to learn. LOve this series can you also do a hair metal list with songs like Talk Dirty to me by POSION and maybe something from RATT. Lol at least My dogs and bird seem to like it!
Holy shit how weird. I saw the title and then for some reason Reality When you Die popped into my head, was just about to write you a request for it, and then well I be fuckered, there it was!
Could you do more stuff about Sepultura? Recently finished listening to their discography and I'm amazed by their albums: schizophrenia, arise, chaos a.d. and roots
