To answer your question, I think Arabic has strong impact on the person who is saying it, but its important to say it in the native language so the person understands what they are saying.

Very touchy and deeply meaningful'. Thank you for your efforts. I think it's good to say it first in your mother thung then in Arabic. But shouldn't be too long, it shoukd be dimplr, just; "I bear witness that no deity but Allah and I bear witness that Mohamed is Allah's messenger" . That's the translation of the shahda in Arabic.

Its most important to acknowledge the shahada and believe in it more then pronoucing it but when pronoucing it sincerely to revert to Islam, if the revert is able to pronouce it in Arabic that would be fine and again in his mother tongue or english, in the end if the revert could not pronouce it in Arabic its totally fine but as I said earlier as long you know what you want and its sincere from the heart you are a Muslim In Sha'a Allah wu Allah A'alam
