I haven’t got a fav, but I was surprised that doing ex 4 clearly showed that my right side was tighter than my left. Then in ex 5 my left hamstring went into spasm after 5 reps. I enjoyed them though and will continue. Thanks.
I feel my hips a lot these days, so I'm not sure about the "corkscrew" exercise. But the others should be doable and I really do need them! Thanks so much
Hello doctor, all your stretches helped me a lot with my back, I have stiffness on my low back but no pain.. for example if ill squat down I feel some muscle getting pulled while I squat.. Will the above stretches help me?? Or is there any other video of yours that you could recommend?? Thank you sir!
No. Not yet sorry. I'll try to do a video on that soon. In the meantime have a look at the exercises in my anterior pelvic tilt video because they will help.
@@BodyFixExercises for me the twist is the most important. Opens up those facet joints and gives instant relief. I almost perscripe this for all my patients
When you're in a lot of pain there's usually a lot of inflammation, and that's not a good time to do exercises. Usually rest, and an ice pack for 10 minutes a few times a day, is best to reduce the inflammation. You can do the exercises when it settles and feels stiff (as opposed to sharply painful)
Some people swear by them, but I'm not personally much of a fan. Usually, I'm trying to loosen specific areas of spinal joint restriction... and traction is inherently unspecific when it comes to opening or loosening joints. It can't localise treatment to one area.
I literally cannot thank you enough for this video. I do a lot of awkward, heavy lifting for work and this has been a lifesaver. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Ha! Sebas, my cat, was there, sleeping just out of view. He's always there. Just too comfy to grace us with his presence. I'll tell him his fans are asking for him. He'll love that. Always likes to be the centre of attention. 😻
I am curious on your opinion because the chiropractor I see says to never do any forward bends or twist stretches with back pain because that irritates the nerves. He even gives out a paper with exercises to avoid (ones you have shown here to be helpful). What is your take on irritating the nerves? I have noticed twisting exercises always cause numbness in my feet.
Interesting. Most chiropractors use rotation to release lumbar vertebrae. So I don't know why he would not recommend it. Numbness in feet is a pretty serious symptom though (and unusual with rotation) so I couldn't really comment on your specific case without examining your spine in detail. If anything causes numbness, definitely don't do it. Flexion, like the child's pose position should be fine. As long as it doesn't hurt. Flexion under weight (think dead lifts or barbell squats) is another story. I'd be more careful into extension, (cobra position) in case a back is inflamed. Always keep within a comfortable range of motion and don't do it if it hurts or causes numbness or pins and needles
Thank you for replying! I always like getting other doctors views on body pain since so many have different methods. I have arthritis in my thoracic and lumbar spine but the numbness and tingling below the calves to feet has stumped the doctors for years. I am always nervous about doing exercises that can worsen it and so far, cobra and cat/cow seem to be the safest for me but prolonged holds over 10 seconds cause a lot of numbness (like when you sit on your feet for too long).
