Prime Boomer Esiason was an MVP level player, and widely regarded as the best QB in the league back in the day when he took them to the Superbowls. Burrow very well could reach that level too.
I don't know if I would go that far just yet, though he did take the Bengals to the SB like Anderson and Esiason, both of whom are in the Ring of Honor. And Anderson should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Also, don't forget about Greg Cook, who was probably more talented than all of them but had his career cut short by injury.

I think Hurts over Burrow is honestly fine because Hurts finished 2nd in MVP voting and this is based on year to year rankings so even though Hurts had one good year, he deserves to be higher ranked than Burrow for 2023. But the real crime is Hurts over Nick Bosa. I’d say Bosa was the most impactful player who wasn’t a QB last year and was the main reason the niners were relevant. Plus he won DPOY with insane stats and was one game away from a SB appearance.

@@justadude1065 Let’s look at the total numbers for the entire season because they both played almost the same amount of games. Hurts played 18 total games and Burrow played 19. Jalen accumulated 5,183 total scrimmage yards with 40 total TDs with 6 interceptions. Joe accumulated 5,523 total scrimmage yards with 45 total touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Apart from getting around 340 total yards and 5 more TDs with 1 more game played, Burrow and Hurts virtually did the same last season. The only difference is Burrow threw almost twice as many interceptions and was pretty inconsistent in the beginning of the season, I would know because I live in Ohio and watch every Bengals game and root for Joe. But Jalen just flat out played just as efficiently as Joe did in passing and rushing, without putting his team in severe disadvantages by throwing a lot of picks. Yeah the Bengals had to face tougher opponents, but at the end of the day when the Eagles had to play tough teams they beat them as well. There’s a million people including me that would say Burrow is the 2nd best QB in the league, but top 100 rankings are based off year to year and Jalen had a more consistent year.
Yes the refs went to the Bengals locker room and told them all right so this is the script you're going to throw two interceptions and your going to take a critical third-down sack and then one of your guys going to make the worst mistake at the worst time and hit the QB out of bounds that's the script follow it. I never bought into the whole NFL is rigged or NFL scripted think I don't understand why it's mentally hard for people to accept the fact that teams and players make mistakes. You people act like the Bengals were playing a perfect game for all three quarters and they were not. In my opinion, Burrow is way better than Hurts. But basing this off of last season alone in a vacuum, Hurts finished 2nd in MVP voting and took his team to the Super Bowl. Although Joe had to go through way tougher opponents than Jalen did, Hurts individual numbers are just as impressive and had one of the greatest Super Bowl performances for a losing QB.

6 is WAAAY too high. Burrow is a really good QB, but this screams QB bias. He's a top 5 QB in the league and you could debate that. Doesn't make him top 6 overall in the league regardless.
