Great flick- great to look at, sense of humor, total Hollywood but awesome. Tom Cruise may well be crazy as hell, but I have a hunch it's a necessary survival requirement ( for the fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of humans on this planet who are Huge Hollywood Stars ) to be unapologetically batshit crazy. Anyway, he's a real pro & he's great in this. That big smile at the end !

For me the most mind-blowing time travel movie is a movie called Time Trap. By the end of the movie my jaw was already on the floor, and it is one of my favorite time travel movies today. Anybody that is interested in watching it, it is on Netflix.

A real "blow your mind" time travel film is the spanish film named "Durante a tormenta" in NETFLIX... There are no questions, no holes and no points left behind in this film... everything makes sense and the events in the past and in the future are perfectly linked to each other... Wow !!!

Loved "Frequency" what makes a movie with a crazy storyline work is adding elements that a person can relate to if they were in that situation, if even its impossible or even with some unsettling moments it still balances it with humanity, and that movie succeeded.

I think Primer stands out from all of these in my mind because it feels.. real. Both the mechanics, the tricks, the reactions, and the fact that there is just a rising tension in that something just feels.. *wrong*. And that what happens that fucks things up is not some crazy sci-fi thing but just.. basic human psychology and interaction.

I've seen all but the first film - Time Lapse, which I'm going to watch now. Time travel is one of my favourite subjects in Sci-Fi (I think it's Sci-Fi). I loved the rest of the films on the list & would strongly recommend them along with Triangle, Looper, Timecrimes, Project Almanac, Interstellar, The Jacket, The Butterfly Effect, Donnie Darko & Coherence (although the last is about parallel universes, rather than time travel).

I've got about 35 minutes left of Time Lapse. Wow. It's a fucking nail-biter, high tension, thriller. Technically not a time travel film, they just seen into the future, but wow. I wasn't prepared... I was expecting a head-fuck, mind-trip, time travel film & a psychological thriller. Instead I'm on the edge of my seat. It's so dark.. #Gulp

@@FlatOnHisFace but they are. Taylor and crew exploit a time warp in space and he finds Earth in the future run by apes. Brent follows Taylor and the time loop and blows up the planet. Before he does Cornelius, Zira, and Milo find one of the spaceships and go back in time to Earth shortly after Taylor and Brent disappear. They have baby Cesaer who grows up to lead the apes into a rebellion and eventual take over of the planet that Taylor will once again encounter when his ship lands. The survivors of the ape rebellion are driven underground and are the people Brent will discover when HE lands. And before the planet is blown up again, C, Z,& M will travel back in time again. This will start the loop over again. There are quite a few time travel references in the movies including the Heinlein Principal which talks about endless loops.

@@frankjanosko9083 Okay. I may stand corrected. I just thought that the time travel elements were vehicles to tell a story that really wasn't about time travel. Kinda like how no-one is claiming that Terminator is a time travel movie. I'd never argue that time travel isn't in the movie or even necessary for the story to exist, but it is just background for a story about a killer robot from beyond our current tech.

really ... you think covid is bad... the affected people nr is 5 mil and so far world wide death toll is arround 350k, and it affected what.. 0,0007% of the global population and only 0,00005 deaths. I mean come on.. more people die every day of the normal flu and this isn't a crisis. In 1900, 1/3 of the world population was infected and 50 milion people died... war brings more deaths than any pandemic and nobody is doing anything about it, nobody is crying for them..

Source Code was not actually a "Time Travel" movie. It was, I think (believe), about visiting alternate time lines. Jake G's character ( Capt. Steves) jumped into another person's last 8 minutes of a teacher's (one of the train passangers) life to discover the bomber's identity.
