I am returned for the 4th time or something. Listen, I know its been like 8 months since a high effort video came out, and 6 since a video has been uploaded, then I go and release the lowest effort video possible. Thats on me, but the next one is gonna be amazing, and will be out soon (soon in terms of my upload consistency). Let me cook. Also sorry about the disappearing thing I kinda got burnt out of RW and the internet in general.
Sorry for ruining the mood of this comment section, but i really have to say this. I really resonate with that being burnt out on rain world. Before downpour this game felt like endless fun, and now i feel like all the fun is somehow gone. I think thats partly because the videos uploaded to youtube cant hype me up like the old ones did. Rain worlds playerbase now consists of pretty normal people who were drawn in by downpours mechanics, and a weirdo like me cant enjoy videos by them. I want silent videos with text like the ones made by you or turtle toad. They just have that magical feel to it, that you are playing a mesmerizing game and not a cool one. Before downpour searching for rain world videos was so much fun. The original rain world felt like a true friendship, and downpour feels like joining the cool kids to satisfy a survival urge to be in a large pack. I still rembember trying to beat hunter mode before downpour released. It was the end of december and i realised that downpour releases in 19 days and i have 19 cycles to beat hunter. And i did beat hunter with 5 cycles to spare and 4 days left till release. I drank the leftover holiday whiskey while swimming down. I was so happy. And im so glad i had that experience before downpour released, it was the last of the great memories i had with this game. The game died after that for me since the new slugcats were supposed to be canon, while not fitting into the world like the originals did. Thank you for uploading this video, it feels like old times. Probably the first video on youtube with that feel to it since downpour released. Sorry for the weird vibe of this comment.
I completely get that, I think i kind of ruined RW for myself by starting speedrunning and doing challenges very early. I very quickly learned every little thing about the game and it lost that feeling of discovery to it. The whole reason I started this channel was because at the time the biggest creators were Turtle Toad and Limecultivist and they hadn't uploaded for a while, I wanted more RW content so I made some which is probably why it feels similar to Turtle Toad's. I feel bad that I have some videos being released very soon that are completely different from the style I usually uploaded because i know ive built this channel and community on these silent videos, but my interests have changed and I no longer like making them very much (my ever increasing gap between uploads). I still like RW but not like I used to. I want to make a community post talking about the change in style of videos that will be uploaded but i feel like that would be bad for channel growth so this reply is kind of my compromise. Thank you for watching my old videos. I'm sure some other weirdo will come along eventually and make videos like those back then.
i disagree, i actually found it quite funny :) especially edited like that for reference i almost finished downpour, counts as 'played the game' i think
