Hope you find this information helpful. I get very excited when bubs are 6 months because they can really use their hands to play and entertain themselves. Don't forget to get your free 0 - 12 months old developmental milestone chart here: brightestbeginning.com/12monthmilestones
you probably dont care but does anyone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Adrian Chandler I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Thank you so much, I’m 2nd mom, first time mom boy😅 my daughter was so easy and she basically was always very independent and resilient, my boy is a little more dependent of us to teach(duh😅) is almost 6 months and the only thing is he’s not sitting on his own yet, and won’t flip from his back to belly but flips from belly to back but we are working on it. Thank you! I was sure if he was on track on development
Emma my baby is 6 half months but not crawling yet... when does that happen and how to help her do it? She doesn’t roll to both sides either, only occasionally from belly to back... she sits with assistance but remains seated for maybe 20 seconds. Thanks!!! Love your channel
Hi @Pri USA it sounds like your little one is doing exactly what is expected at 6 months of age. Crawling can occur anywhere from 6 - 9 months. I am releasing a video tomorrow on how to help teach crawling. I also have a video on sitting which you might find helpful. I would focus on rolling and supported sitting at this stage.
Does 6 months mean by the time the baby turns 6 months or during the month when they are 6 months old? I'm worried my baby isn't doing all of these yet 😅
"now start to put toys into their mouth" now?! NOW?!?! my baby would eat EVERYTHING for 2 months hahahaha love ya Emma, thank you for giving us all these help for free
Emma, thank you for all your hard work. I found your videos when my son was about 3 months and I've been watching since, it helps to have a general timeline of where he should be and the tips n tricks are extremely helpful for a FTM like me. Thank you!
As a 1st time mom, I learned a lot from your channel. It bugs me that I found your page just this day. I could've used a lot of your tips and tricks while my baby is growing up. She'll be 6 months next week but she already reached all the 6-month milestones except the "sitting unsupported" one. I hope she'll be able to do it soon.
I just found your channel and it’s just what I needed. I babysit my baby grandsons and really needed to get up to par with what to do and not do with them.. Your content is wonderful !
My baby girl just turn 6 months yesterday but i think to what u said is accurate to my first 2 daughters... Now i have my 3rd but i think she's so advance because he reach this milestone in just 5 months😇...
My baby is 6 months in 8 days. She doesn’t sit independently on the floor but sitting well in the feeding chair. She can’t roll from tummy to back yet. Obviously not crawling. I think it is very varies based on each baby 👶My baby was born 2.5 weeks early. So every milestone is just a little bit later than in guide.
It’s so cool that you mentioned the raking motion. My girl turned 6mo a few days ago and she’s started this raking thing. She drags her nails across things quickly and grasps even when there's nothing there to hold. She seems interested in doing this with textured surfaces. It’s amazing watching her hit milestones like clockwork. I read that blowing raspberries early is a predictor for better and earlier language development, so I started blowing them at her at 5 months. She was immediately delighted by the noise, and started doing it within a week. Now she can’t stop! I’m just hearing the beginning of babbling sounds which is so exciting! She can’t sit up on her own, probably due to low weight and large head, which has always been an issue due to horrible spitting up which is just starting to abate, but I’m not worried about that. She’s so strong and smart, I feel so blessed every day. Every new little thing she does makes me so happy and proud. Thanks for the video!!
My son likes to grab at textured surfaces and scratch them as well! (Although your wonderful baby is much older now lol!) It really is great to see them hit their milestones! Such an amazing thing 🥰
My baby also has a low weight compared to head size 😂, he is starting to sit but will tumble when moving to get a toy, which resulted in a lot of crying from hitting his head a couple times(I don’t let it happen often but sometimes I can’t avoid it). I try to keep him now in a mobile bassinet (Moses thingy) on the ground so he can hold to the sides to stable himself. I do that when I’m cooking, so he can see me but be sitting safely.
My baby will be 6 month full in 2 days, has rolled tummy to back from 4 month but doesn't do back to tummy, she just hate tummy so bad doesn't want to stay there at all, also doesn't go backwards yet, grab her thumbs and feet but doesn't get to mouth yet

My daughter is 5,5 months, sleeps through the night and is only awake 1,5 hours before becoming super tired and needing another nap. Is that normal? I struggle with the idea of keeping her awake longer to stretch her awake time but I also think: if she's tired she's tired. But if she should be awake longer I want to work on it. What is your opinion on this?
Hi Shezadi, yep not being able to sit by themselves at 6 months of age is very normal. It's a skill bubs can learn anywhere between 6-9 months. Hope that helps!
What could it mean if baby can’t really bring his toes to his mouth? He tries but it seems too tight. He mostly just holds his toes with his fingertips.
My baby is almost 6 months old, she does everything you described but doesn’t roll from back to tummy and will pivot in one direction only, so you have any advice?
My six months old baby doesn't sleep during the day ... He is always active n doesn't get tired. He starts sleeping from 7pm and wakes up by 1am for a feed then wakes up by 5am for a feed and he won't go back to sleep still the next 7pm😢
Emma your videos are so informative and helpful..thank you!! My daughter is 6.5 months old she is obese her endocrinologist said all reports are normal..she seems to be less curious towards things unlike sounds. Even if we talk with her lovingly she just stairs and doesn't engage.. even if she does its very rare.. she smiles occasionally..but she likes music and sound. And i tried everything to try solids she just starts crying right away.. she don't like anything except breast milk..she just won't swallow at all ..eye contact is fine.. response to name is very less.. is there anything to worry.. please suggest.. thanks a lot
Hi I have a question on airplane arms. My baby is 5.5 months and can fairly manage her neck, she however does not sit independently and also does hold her arms out like an airplane when held. Is that normal?
Hello, thank you for your video! Do you have tips for a 6month old who doesn't reach for toys? He loves putting his fingers in his mouth or holding his own hands but we can't get him interested to grab a toy😔
My baby does most of this but she cannot roll any way ! She is been turning sideways since three months old but she NEVER completes the roll She does plenty of tummy time since birth I don’t know how to help her she is clearly not progressing with her rolling over
Hi, Since My Baby Was Two Months I Would Imitate The Roll. So, I Would Suggest Showing And Explaining To Your Baby How They Can Roll Over. I Would Literally Help Her By Explaining All The Parts Of Her Body And How They Would Help Her. As I’m Doing This, I’m Helping Her Roll. Give Your Baby Encouragement. Happy Parenting Sweethearts!
My little one cant sit up unaided, maybe for 20 seconds or so. He's 1 week off 6 months? I've read online that they need to sit unaided in order to transition to a seated up position in his pram? Not sure what to do
My bub just turned 6m. -She’s babbling a lot ‘dadada’ is her favorite -she’s creeping and lunging forward -she rolls everywhere -kicks off when held -sits pretty much unaided -responds to her name -has very good reflexes and hand eye coordination. What she hasn’t been able to do these passed 2months is sleep! She’s been waking every 1-2hrs and can only be settled by the breast. She used to sleep right through.
Hi Emma, thanks for your channel… your videos are very informative and helpful for new parent like me…:) My daughter will be 6 months on this 25th… though she sits with little support and she does caterpillar crawling as well but I m concerned as she doesn’t turn to her sides this often. She had made a few turns when she was 4 months of age and stopped after that… now whenever she is on her tummy time she just do caterpillar crawling instead… is it a matter of concern???
Hi Emma, my son is turning 6 months old in a few days and is not completing a roll or grabbing his feet. He also does not bounce but can sit decently and bear weight on his legs. Is this a cause for concern?
Hi @Caitlin Lauredent it is great your little one is able to sit and bear weight on his legs. Rolling from your back to front can happen anywhere from 4 - 7 months so he still has another month to learn this skill. When he is lying on his back you can start to place his hands on his feet - usually they start by placing hands on their knees and as they get stronger tummy muscles they can start to touch their toes. I wouldn't be concerned if he is achieving all the other milestones expected at 6 months. But if you are concerned always check in with your local doctor or paediatrician who can see your little one in person and do a quick developmental check.
Love the way you elaborate and cover every aspects.. keep it up... I mostly follow your channel for any doubts and information and you clear it point to point.. keep it up.. and all the best 👍
Hi Emma. My 6 month wakes up 3 to 4 times in the night. He starts sleeping at around 7 to 8 pm and wakes up at 6. But he needs to be fed 3 to 4 times every night. Is this fine .
My baby will turn six month in a few days but still folding her hand more than when she open it and yet to sit by her self and yet to roll but fo other things. Should i geel concern?
My 7th month old has the same sleeping schedule as of 6 months. At total he is getting 9hrs of sleep. With the information from this video I feel likr something is wrong.... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My son just turned 5months on the 6th and he's been doing all of this since 4 1/2 months & hes been sleeping 9-10hr everynight since 2 months...is that normal?
My baby just turned 6 m yesterday, but he still can't sit without support, maybe it's nirmal, because nit all baby's are same All the rest what it's shows here, he alredy do since he was 5 m , just about sitting I'm worry
My 5 month is doing most these things, except she turns from her back to her tummy all the time but can't roll the other way around! I can't get her to do it, although I'm following what you taught in your rolling video.
Hey my almost 5 month old is the same!! And I don’t think she CANT, she’s done it a few times on accident and gets upset. I think my baby doesn’t like it- maybe yours is the same? Lol
My 5 1/2 month son is also only roiling from back to tummy and do not roll from tummy to back. Not sure if that is something to be concern. Any thoughts?
5 month 5days baby her left hand is straight while on rest but she can grab & reach the things from that hand she hold the even leg but she clenched fist at rest is it normal madam
My baby is turning 6 months on the 8th and still isn’t sitting on his own or crawling what can I do to help him out when he’s on his tummy he does go in like circles moving around and turns from tummy to back and back to tummy
I do love you and channel as a mother! I'm watching your channel from Asian countries and your advice have been so useful for me! Now I very need your help, my 6 month baby has a bigger head and he has difficulty to hold it, plus when he rolls up, he becomes tired quickly to hold neck. Is it enough 8 drops(8000) vitamin d3, I'm really worried about his health 😢
Hi! So glad you love the channel and it has helped on your parenting journey. Unfortunately this is a little outside of my scope. The best person to ask would be your little one’s doctor. Hopefully they can help!
My 6 mo old still leans forward when seating and ends up rolling to his side. And still not saying ma or da. Should I be concerned? Any tips? Thank you!
Emma thanks for all your tips. To be a first-time parent, and don't have anybody to ask simply questions except the pediatrician it's amazing. We have a 6-month babe and he still hates tummy time; he rolls from his back to his tummy but not from his tummy to front. How may we help him?
Hello Emma. Thank you for all your help and support. I've been following you for some time and needed to know if there's a video of yours about the 6 months regression behaviour during day and night. After 6 months and some days my baby girl has totally changed her behaviours day and night. She's sleeping restlessly during the night making a lot of complaint cooings ( she's teething too ) and she's slamming both of her feet violently in her crib. during the day I feel her to be more "aggressive". She sometimes slaps my arm when I'm interacting with her. She doesn't like to be on her tummy and still isn't able to roll. Any advice on that? Thank you in advance.
@@aditimehta101 hi dear. It's normal and it will pass. We're at 14nmonths now and I WISH she were as calm as 6 months. Unfortunately teething came later, although the discomforts started way earlier. Now she can almost walk. There's still regression in the sleep schedule. I hope I did give you some info. Lemme know if there's anything else I can help you with. P. S. No doctor whatsoever here. Just a mom
My baby is 5months old when ever his dad or grand ma put on their lenses he always reach out to it and grap it out. He actually dose all the things you just mentioned
Hi Emma, thank you for your videos, I have a question regarding these milestones. Are they also for prematurely born babies or shoud we expect to see them around the corrected age?
@@EmmaHubbard thanks for reply. She can roll on sides and sometimes on her tummy too but she hates tummy time as well as rolling over to tummy. Seems she knows how to roll but she doesn’t do it very often like once in a blue moon.
@@actionaction88 she started to crawl on all four around 9 months and learnt how to stand up by 10/11 months. Now she can sit, crawl, pull herself to stand and cruise with furniture or support. I am waiting for her to take her first steps :)
Hello Emma, i love your channel. My baby girl started babling at 4 and a half and then at 5 and a half she stopped. She even said ba ba ba some time. Now that she is almost 6 months she stopped babbling, she screams more, she seems to understand when i talked to her, she has a good eye contant and she always respond to her name. She know her name from the time she was 4 months. Now should i worry about this?
@@Mylife-sr3qm at six she has completly stabled the neck and she even sits for a few minutes without pillows around her, but still she doesnt sitt without support for a long period
@@sidagjini2875 Thanks for your reply.my baby is 5 months 4 days and his head is partially stabled also when dr pulled him to sit his head laged do i need to worry? What do i need to make him do for this? I didn't give him tummy time much but now I am trying to make him do it as much as i can. Will it be helpful?
Listen to your babies and not the pediatrician. If they cry at night and get calm after being fed that means they still need those night feedings. The milk at night is more calorically dense, has more DHA in it and it is beneficial to baby brain development.
Your videos are great, but you have very long intro (54 seconds), I would advise you to cut it to 5 seconds. Again: you videos are great and informative.
