I did try to see if any of these books were published with St. Martin's. For those who don't know, there is a boycott happening with them and I wanted to try to let anyone know before possibly going and buying any of these. It didn't seem like any were, but PLEASE feel free to let me know if there are any mentioned in the video! More about the boycott: prismreports.org/2024/01/18/bipoc-book-creators-boycott-st-martins-press/#:~:text=The%20boycott%20started%20in%20October,a%20St.%20Martin%27s%20Press%20employee.
FYI-- Fairyloot is a UK company so they always work with the publishers who hold UK rights. SMP is a US publisher so they'll never show up on IC/FL books (even if it's an SMP title)@@hardbackhoarder
I tend to keep the box since it seems to protect the books from shelf wear. I have a few hard cover box sets that have nice artwork. I'm so glad that you've started posting again!
U rapid firing those wonderful looking fantasy books ive never heard of without a lil description was KILLING me😭 but i get it, lighting. Also, HOW HAVE U JUST BEEN DIAGNOSED ADHD???! When i heard that i started choking bc girl ive known since u started ur channel bc ur one of my faves lol and i have it too😅
The Salt Grows Heavy was weird, 2 stars. I gave Unfamiliar vol.1 just 1 star lol. I remember reading I Hate Fairyland! Can't remember if I needed to read vol.4 or 5. I remember reading Chuck Palahniuk, too! Must've been in high school and college. Fourth Wing, Threads That Bind, and Divine Rivals were not for me. Bone Smith was good. Sing Me to Sleep was great!A Curse for True Love was fun. And I loved The Princess and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich!
I always plan to keep the Box, but never do. I'm so happy to see that you still have the Minotaur. (I still cling to hope) You are still the Absolute Best "They just threw 2 men on the cover & called it a day." Best quote about the Worst cover.
I read a couple of those Korgi books, they were indeed adorable. And if you like family curse stories, I highly recommend Wake the Bones by Elizabeth Kilcoyne. it's spooky horror and southern summer hot so a good read for either summer or spooky season. I was kind of surprised at how much I loved The Princess and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Boxed sets - I shelf them in the box.
I've read the first 5 of amulet I think, and it's so good! and I feel like it's a great comic series for kids who want to read saga (but shouldn't haha).
2:40 Sometimes I keep the boxes from box sets. If I like the box design and its sturdy enough, I keep. If Its flimsy and ugly, or if I like the book covers and spines better, I don't keep
Do you think I can read ‘if we were villains’ if I haven’t read any shakespeare? I’m really interested in it but intimidated to pick it up because I don’t have background knowledge on Shakespeare stuff.
I think so! There are a lot of Shakespeare lines peppered in and they do act out the play, but the content is well explained enough and the focus is moreso on the group that it's still a good read!
