You talk about the seasons in Florida and how there is weeks in Florida that have nothing but mold, red tide, humidity etc. But I was born and raised in Florida and I recently moved to Maine, because my husband was from Maine and we bought his family home. Now Maine is great so far as no poisonous snakes and alligators, insect, etc. But Maine dose have biting black house flyers, HUGH MISKITOS and spiders. I agree that bugs are big in Florida that is why I love Maine but the one thing is Living in the Weather in Maine. Winter last over 6 months so when you don’t know how to live in the winter or snow that’s more life threatening. Now that I moved here in Central Maine and it’s going to be my 3rd year it would be no big deal except my husband passed away in June so now I have to hopefully live here this winter or I and my grandsons 3 and 5 years old will freeze to death. So in Both locations People should really take into consideration if they are left alone.
Great channel!! I'm surprised you didn't mention this but to me right behind the weather is the absence of rolling hills, mountains and valleys is a huge reason why not to move to FL. The lack of any vertical topography when one is used to the beauty and the amount of activities and exploration that hills and mountains offer to escape and enjoy is to me is something I hate about FL. Been here for ten years and right now making decision to move out. I personally believe there are far more important reasons for not living here than the opposite. Any one thinking of moving here should rent a place for six to eight months to really appreciate what it all entails.
@@jh748 I agree with you and don’t like how flat FL is. Renting first is a good idea to see if you like it. Date and then marry or realize it’s not worth getting married and then date somewhere else
I'll take humidity over negative temperatures here in Chicago. Winters are brutal in Chicago for 9 months. I'm talking negative 0 degrees. Every state has its issues. Crime here in Chicago is worse than New York and Los Angeles Combined.
OUTSTANDING - thank you for this excellent, informative series. I worry of the increase in hate crimes and the rise of drug use in the state. Also, after a decade the minimum has risin from $7 to $11 an hour. For the record - pegged from the 1972 inflation index -the US minimum wage should be around $23 per hour. If these seems too much, then don't start the business or you can share the profits - teamwork(owners and workers).
THE POSITIVES OF LIVING IN FLORIDA, FAR OUTWEIGH THE NEGATIVES...WHEREVER YOU LIVE, YOU WILL FIND GOOD AND BAD. I LIVE IN CENTRAL WEST FLORIDA,IN BEAUTIFUL WEEKI WACHEE FLORIDA.I HAVE LIVED HERE FOR 15 YEARS,MANY OF THESE NEGATIVES,I HAVE NOT SEEN.I LIVE A FEW MILES FROM THE GULF,THE ALLIGATORS DO NOT BOTHER YOU,IF YOU DO NOT BOTHER THEM.I LIVE ON A LAKE,I HAVE SEEN VERY FEW MOSQUITOS,OUR BIGGEST CONCERN IS HURRICANE,BUT YOU KNOW ITS COMING ABOUT A WEEK OR MORE OUT,IF YOU LIVE IN TORNADO ALLEY,YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE IF ANY WARNING.THE SNOW BIRDS ARE ANNOYING,BUT THESE PEOPPLE ARE USUALLY GONE BY APRIL,THEY DO ADD ALOT OF MONEY TO THE ECONOMY,YOU JUST HAVE TO LIVE WITH THESE ANNOYING PEOPLE ONLY ABOUT 3 TO 4 MONTHS.GOOD OUTWEIGHS THE NEGATIVE IN FLORIDA,AND ALWAYS WILL...OUR TEMPERATURES EVEN IN THE COLDEST WINTERS RARLY GET BELOW 60.WHILE THE REST OF THE COUNTRY IS SHOVELING SNOW,IAM SITTING BY MY POOL OR LAKE,CHILLIN LIKE A VILLIAN FOR SURE.LOL
Born in Dunedin. I have watched a cult destroy downtown Clearwater. It is very sad. Can go across the bridge to the beach ⛱️. It's a totally different atmosphere. Three miles down edgewater drive and downtown Dunedin is partying with an old school vibe. So many positive things and people. You are not showing in any real way, what Florida is like.
Thank you for be very honest in your opinion about Florida. For me the worse state in the United States. Menu problems , very Spence, very bad salaries, crazy tragic, super Spence rents and food. In one word Florida have crazy and very dangerous traffic, propel drive like crazy’s. Is no nice live in Florida. Thank you very mucho for the video. Have a very nice day. Make a video in Spanish please many people need it.
Ty for information! But I m interested in purchasing a home or apartment in Miami, and I have a budget of $200k. Could you provide any recommendations?
It’s ok, let them move down to Florida. We know something they don’t. So Do when they buy up the real estate, we can move up north and buy up theirs. They dont know Florida is flooding more and more due to rising sea levels. Also the weather is changing drastically not for the better. Good luck.
@LIV South Florida Yikes! I am a (cough, cough, choke, choke) Senior lady looking to move into 62+ high end apt. I guess there is no way around it. Appreciate your time!
I don't think it would be nearly as expensive for you. Our home is 3000 SF and we have a pool and a pool heater. The average I see for condos is 100-200/month.
I personally like living in Florida. I'm just pointing out some negatives but there's many positives as well. To each their own, I hope everyone gets to live out their dreams.
You know the best way to prevent suffering from bad allergies during allergy season???? Wear a mask outdoors!!! But good luck with that in Florida. Me and my family went to Daytona Beach in 2022 for my daughters College Cheer National Championships (They took 2nd place BTW and this was her and many of her teammates first time in the competition) We're from Northern NJ about 10 minutes from NYC and the absolute venomous looks and attitude we were getting from from Floridians for us wearing our mask inside the venue because of a certain Governor and a certain political party politicizing mask wearing felt as bad as being black in the south in the 1960s when you were from Up North. So all to say, if you've got really bad allergies North, South, East or West just wear a mask when outdoors during allergy season and enjoy your life without inhalers, stuffy noses, and feeling miserable.
Very good point that you bring up. Masks aren’t encouraged in FL and a lot has to do with the heat and humidity.. also the governor. Congrats to your daughter and her team for taking 2nd place.
