My guess is Mercedes-Benz stadium continues to host both the Falcons and Atlanta United MLS team for a very long time. The main reason being that both teams are owned by the same owner. I think he likes the fact that the United play there. It would also probably cost him a good bit of money to build yet another stadium and he already spent so much on that one. Arthur Blank also has a tendency to spend his money on more Falcons stuff than anything. Obviously there is an NFL salary cap so he can only spend so much on the players so when he does spend money it's usually on facilities for Falcons players and then he likes to make them so nice that in theory his soccer players should be happy to use it. I can't imagine the United moving out of Mercedes Benz because they would basically have to ask the same guy who built it to build them another one since he owns both teams.
Lucas Oil Stadium is also the main facility for the marching arts. Both Drum Corps International and Bands of America host their championships at Lucas Oil Stadium. The stadium was actually built with marching band in mind with a massive retractable curtain to dampen reverb from the back sideline stands.
The only time I've been in Lucas Oil is for the Vex IQ and VRC state robotics championships. I've been there three times and they do a great job to set up a great event. They hold the World championships in Dallas at the convention center there and people are amazed at what Indiana does for their tournament. They are definitely getting their money's worth on the stadium.
@@PapaVanTwee5As somebody that lives in Indianapolis I totally agree. So much use has been into the stadium and I think it’ll be a place that gets into all time legendary status someday as one of the best stadiums ever. The fan support between football and basketball here definitely makes it worthwhile. I’ve never been inside it but it’s definitely something I’d want to experience even though I’m not a Colts fan.
@@lakerskid2013the one time I saw an NFL game there, it impressed me, inside the venue, how it feels intimate, even though it holds 70,000 people. And it's loud AF too.😂
@@baileyscott6366 As somebody that used to live in Princeton (in southwestern Indiana by Illinois and Kentucky if you don’t know where it’s at) I would always hear about marching band events happening there all the time when I was in high school and even after I graduated before I moved to Indy.
Lucas Oil Hosts the Drum Corps International Championships (DCI) usually sell out the one side of the field open for seating every year and is a great time
I know nobody cares but Lucas Oil is home to the DCI World Championships every year. I've never been but I bet that place sounds amazing when you get to see the bands perform live just because of how it's enclosed and everything. I would love it
Bro you need to go to Atlanta asap. The Benz is the best stadium and fan atmosphere in MLS. The curtain for level 3 isn’t a big deal. That’s just nitpicking. They won’t get their own stadium. Arthur blank purposely wanted a stadium for both soccer and football. The schedules don’t even conflict.
I know you don't like keybank center in Buffalo but it's a very useful stadium for Buffalo. It host an NHL team and a NLL(Lacrosse) team. It host the NHL combine every year. It has hosted the NHL draft, World Junior Hockey tournament and college basketball games with a rotating ncaa tournament stop. It also hosts concerts and festivals. It may not be sexy but having harborcenter attached to it with its hotel makes it very useful and attractive for sizable events.
You missed Lumen Field. Its the only stadium to host 4 pro teams, NFL -Seattle Seahawks, MLS - Seattle Sounders FC, NWSL - OL Reign, XFL - Seattle Sea Dragons. Plus concerts and expos at the stadium and the adjacent convention hall. It also will be hosting (WIAA) Washington State high school football championship games.
Lincoln Financial Field. Also had multiple days for Taylor Swift. Concerts in the summer. Eagles. Temple. Army Navy game happens there. Sometimes Soccer.
Every time Yankee Stadium is mentioned, I think about how it's the absolutely perfect dual-purpose design because it doesn't require moving any seats to switch configurations. When NFL/MLB shared stadiums, that should have been the design instead of cookie cutters.
I’d say much of the NFL and MLS stadiums are useless unless domed. I’d also say much of the NHL & NBA arenas are very useful. For an idea, the Carolina Hurricanes are the only professional team in Raleigh, but the venue has been used for MANY other events in the past year alone including esports competitions, wrestling matches, basketball games, concerts, graduation, Expos, and assemblies. Since July 1, 2022, they’ve hosted around 200 different events, with at least 150 of them using the main entertainment surface.
Lucas Oil Stadium is also used for extra space during big events at the nearby Indiana Convention Center. In particular Gen Con uses Lucas Oil Stadium for some events during the four day convention.
Yankee stadium hosting NYCFC is difficult sometimes because the yankees play at the same time as them sometimes. So they play quite a few games at Citi Field.
Madison Square Garden should be an honorable mention at least. It Hosted thousands of events and it probably has the best location of any venue ever, right in the middle of the city. It’s called the worlds most famous arena for a reason
MLS has expansion teams in USA & Canada like New Orleans, Birmingham, Las Vegas, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis & other soccer teams somewhere!⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽

A good one is the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix Arizona it has the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, Arizona Rattlers and other Events over the year.
It's a bit of a reach but you could argue Nissan Stadium in Nashville. That place hosts a lot of concerts for a football stadium. It's also the backdrop for the Nashville indycar race.
With Crypto it's not just teams playing one day after another. It's the Kings or Lakers playing at night, and the Clippers playing the earlier JV game.
I think not calling Mercedes Benz a retractable roof is kinda dumb, I mean, it still retracts, and the purpose was to look nice and allow some light, not make it look like it’s outdoors.
The superdome???. Saints, essence fest. Final four’s, 2 bowl games a year plus oftentimes a neutral site CFB game. The most super bowls. Hell even a Mardi Gras parade goes into it.
What sucks about Yankee Stadium is the dimensions of the outfield walls. They are marked the same as the original Yankee Stadium, but the walls have been proven via Google Maps to have been brought in. You would think that they would want more room for football, soccer, etc., but I guess there is just too much value in cheap home runs. I wish they would have used the 1970s dimensions for the new ballpark (if not earlier, deeper dimensions).
I'm surprised you didn't use US Bank Stadium in MN. University of MN uses it to play all their early spring baseball games because one wall moves out for right field..
