Awesome video. Im new to traveling out of the country as my son is older now I'd like to do more of this with him before he goes off to college in 2 years 😮. Where does the time go lol. I'd appreciate any information you can give maybe point me in the direction of the resources used to plan your trip and I will figure it out from there thanks again .. How many days did you spend in meguro before going to Kyoto? Did you use a travel guide at any time or if not how did you decide what activities to do throughout your vacation?
Hi just a question on bullet train did you buy jr pass for each family member? Or just paid the ticket going to kyoto and back? Were planning to go next yr and wants to know if jr pass is cheaper for kyoto and tokyo destination.
Hi farrah, Yes we did buy a JR pass for each family member. This worked out cheaper as it is the same price just from tokyo to kyoto anyway. We travelled a bit more from Kyoto with it too- to make the most of it. We also visited Hiroshima and Mayijima which we highly recommend. Both of these places were a real highlight of Japan for us. Have a great trip- you will love it!
Fun and informational video! Also going to kyoto with kids in 3 weeks that's why i found your video. May I ask if the long walks are doable with younger kids? I have a 6 year old and he's a bit heavy for a regular stroller.
Hi Rhona, Thanks for watching. We just found if we took our time and looked around and stopped as we went- the walks were quite ok. Hope you have a wonderful time! Kyoto is such a beautiful mix. Definitely do the free walking tour. It's very interesting!
Thank you for sharing this great video. Question please: can you tell us how many days you spent in Kyoto? We have 3 children and trying to figure out how many days to do Tokyo/ Kyoto/ Hiroshima and Nara. Thank you in advance for your input.
Hi sheila, thanks for your question. We stayed in Kyoto for a week - with a day trip to hiroshima, We also took a day at Miyajima Island. This was a beautiful place, - and next time I would try and book a night or 2 staying on the island. There was so much to explore there but we didn't have the time. Hope you guys have a great trip!
I am Japanese. Please do not put a stone on the torii. There is no such culture in Japan. The torii is scratched. And a stone falls and it is dangerous. The temple is also annoying. If someone you do not know is, please let me know.
Kyoto should be pronounced 'kyohto', not 'kiyoto'. Did you get polytheistic harmony that Shinto and many sects of Buddhism cohabit side by side? You may be able to feel Japanese culture if you visit Gosho where Emperors lived for a thousand years with little armed defense as just authority. I recommend you to see Katsura-Rikyuh which is the best Japanese garden but it needs reservation.
We are still working with our Aussie accents. Thank you. We really loved seeing how Shinto and Buddhism are combined together. It was lovely seeing religion not dividing people.
Awww, Cutest family ever !🤗✨✨ Thank you for sharing amazing videos. And I'm looking foward to watch your new vlogs.💃 Keep up the awesome work.👍👍 Take care, have a wonderful days🧚♂️ LOVE from Japan🇯🇵🌸
