Wow, you do amazing work and make it look so easy lol. My family calls me Martha Stewart of the crafts world lol. If it can be made by hand I will make it . Generally I can walk into a store Or flea market of sort and see something that I know I can make by hand when somebody paid a hefty amount of money divide it in the 1st place. I am a craft or at heart I think I came out of my mother's belly crafting and love teaching people how to make elegant beautiful things out of nature or things people would generally throw away. I have started a program that will Run this summer in my neighbor- hood for The Children from age 5 and up. We live right next to our swimming pool and there are so many children that have the money to go swimming but their parents aren't there so they will not allow them to swim without an adult. Kids were getting away with asking other parents to, so called sponsor them , While they are at the pool that day. It was all fine up until The adult would leave and the child would stay at the pool and wreak havoc on everybody there. We are supposed to have a pool attendant that stays at the pool the entire day while it is open from noon until 5:00 p.m. When the office closes. The lady gets paid to monitor the kids at the pool but all she does is unlocked the gate get all the kids in there and then leave until somebody calls and says there is a problem. Last year I caught Two13 year olds having sex in the toddler and young kids end of the pool. Not to mention all of the food and food packages that end up in the pool when there should be no eating inside of the pool area but they don't post any rules. I will not even take my grandchildren over there and I'm the one that keeps them during the summer. So what I have set up is a program that is 2 hours a week for 4 weeks. That's a total of 20 hours of child care which you know can be absolutely outrageous. So I am Single and have 3 grandchildren and my daughter that live in the same home. I have a large dining area as well as a Large craft Room As well.. On the outside I have a big 12 by 12 deck with a picnic table that has a kitchenette style table in bench that will accommodate up to 6 people. Each Day that I have the child will have to hours of working on their craft that they have chosen for that month. Parents are given a supply and list of all of the items that we will be using. It's usually cheaper for me to buy the supplies because I can get them in bulk. How many times will you buy a package of beads they are pink and you only need 6 of them. Every parent will have the opportunity to provide any one of those items or all of them if they can get them cheaper. each child In the program will help finding things in nature that will work in their project. It keeps the cost down on the supplies For larger families. If we have a project that uses sticks we will take one of those 4 weeks which would be the beginning and we would go for a walk and find as many things in nature such as sticks rocks wild plants that are dried by nature. Weeping Willow branches , tin cans, soap and laundry detergent bottles. The things the child can find and bring for HER/HIMSELF WILL REDUCE THEIR COST. Usually by the 2nd week we are putting the beginning pieces of our project together such as painting or sanding things down to be painted, older kids will have more chances to work on projects that require more skill and presision than those of the younger kids. They will be separated into days like on Monday would be an age group from 5 to 8 and, 9 to 12 karma 13 to 15. Usually about the cut off that kids get old enough and having a babysitter in. It will mostly be set up during the day time from noon until 5:00 p.m. come my the same hours as the pool. It gives those children that can't go swimming something to do other than ride a bicycle in circles around the pool trying to get somebody to let them in. My grandson will be helping me by selling Pre packaged candy, Soda pop , cookies , and Selling popsicles as well since we have a large deep freeze. I'm really excited about this summer getting to set everything up out on the Covered deck Allowing these kids creativity to come out and be able to share that with their families. I M also offer scholarships To families that have more than 2 children. They will only be responsible for the cost of the supplies instead of the baby sitting. So it is a total of 8 hours that's divided into 2 hour each week. And the supply list will depend on how much of the items we are able to get from nature or from their parents as in the Pop bottles, laundry detergent bottles, Picnic spoons and forks, things like that. How many places can you go that offer 2 hours each week for a total of 8 hours of babysitting and teaching your child a craft at the same time for $40 or less a month that's $5 each week for supplies and $5 each wait for the day care. Can you find A-day care that offers 2 hours a baby sitting for $5 and teaches your child a craft that is well worthy of hanging in your living Room or on a shelf in your bedroom or hanging from your kitchen wall. You never know what we will be doing next unless you're signed up.I can only hope and pray that this goes off well for parents that can't afford to have date night and babysitting. If it's anything like it was when I was raising my children, I could either afford to pay a baby sitter and do nothing or Want to do something but can't afford to pay the babysitter. And I had 4 children and became a single parent early on. 8 years of being married to , Way back in the Late eighties Early nineties. Being a single mother I learned really How to do things myself. I did not need a man to take care of me. It's been a wild and crazy bride that's why I call it going batty with Deb. I will also be doing RU-vid videos of crafts that I make and if the parents allow their child to be on video I will also put them and their crafts on video and RU-vid for the parents And especially for the kids. Everyone wants to be noticed even if it's just in a short video of them making a craft. I hope to gain support through RU-vid and will start posting very soon. I just got moved into my studio in November but due to errors that the landlord made in our lease, I was afraid to unpack not knowing if I would be staying or not. I finally gotten to a point that I'm getting things unpacked and cleaned And on the shelves where they go, Just waiting for little crafters to start working their craft. Thank you for your videos they have definitely inspired me to do more. 3 times a year I have a craft sale which is usually pretty big. I make things all your long just to sell and have a little bit of income, To keep doing what I love to do which is crafting. Thanks again take care and God-bless Deb
