Tbh I was kind of expecting a similar reasoning behind all this, because you'd have to pay those who designed and coded the minigames aswell as all the production needed for the song, streams assets and all that kind of stuff
Though a lot of us don't tend to want to think of it this way, there's a _lot_ of sunk cost just in the fact that such a huge portion of the talents are dedicating time to practicing and participating. Yes, some streams and the joy of the main event come from that, but that's a massive amount of time that could be spent on more profitable ventures. As much as we love the girls and laude the non-blackness of Cover, they are a corporation after all.
I'd also that there's a lot of infra costs that come with it such as probably paying for additional server resources and the ability to have a smooth experience across multiple countries with that many connections active all at once. In addition to this, probably additional man power to manage those necessary resources. Having such a consistent smooth experience in a scenario with more than a dozen players takes a lot of resources.
Also this is a good moment for the others to think something different to fill that space. It shouldn't be something over complicated but something everyone can put some grain for sand too to make a good group event. Like the Summer Festival Pekora did during June before Coco part way.
Honestly, I do wonder why the parent company isn't funding these huge events themselves. Then again, these kinds of huge events mostly go on a huge loss so I could understand why they don't.
Four amazing years, I'm definitely going to miss the Sports Fes., but we've made some incredible memories that will stick with us for ever. Mio, Miko, and Subaru definitely deserve the break, and the reduced hit to their wallets is a plus too lol. Here's to whatever project the plan next!
They deserve a break and they can make other project that is not restricted with school sport festival or minecraft. Something more simple like Pot Fairy, the consultation agency Chikugami, Tamagawa and Exaggerated Subaru, or other new ideas they have. Although it can't be denied the sport fes is one event where all branch can mingle with other talent they have less or none interaction with.
It's obvious that it cost a lot when you think about it logically. They have to provide a server (that can be used by 50+ people acrros the world without so much lag), program the servicer mechanics, bunch of staffs to make sure everything is working. Even the song and opening itself cost a lot. Also the time to plan all of this with all the members... That's why it makes me tears up from joy every year when they did. I was in the position for planning and scheduling in organizations during college days. So really salute to the girls pulling this off for years, with that amount of members and staffs.
Just fyi, a server hosted for a month that can handle >50 people is only about $5, $10 if you want to go overkill for safety (technically, it probably cost them nothing since they already have the mc server, making a new world doesn't cost anything). A coder+tester for this is maybe $150, $300 for overkill (typically a custom command block based minigame will be ~$25~30). Custom art, banners, probably another $200.
@@Micheldied That would be crazy. Lol. I've only seen admin help requested like 3x in several years of holo minecraft. I'm sure cover has technical staff that can also do mc admin commands if needed.
@@Idiomatick Don't forget the design fee for building in MC, I doubt the girls would have time to make up a building design. And like Mio said, there's arrangement for op song too.
@@Idiomatick Sorry forgot about this, not to mention that the three asked other talent too for helping with their project probably to save some cost, but they would also need to thanked them for the help with maybe dinner or some party after.
I do remember watching my first festival (which was the 2nd one) and thinking "wow the production value is really high. They even got an animated opening to introduce every member with an official theme song". Then over the years I guess I just got used to Hololive always having crazy projects and stopped thinking about it. But I'm happy we got these 4 years of sport festivals. They have always been one of the yearly hololive highlights for me, together wtth the Mario art tournament and of course the spring concert. Thanks for all the hard work Mio, Miko and Subaru 🙏
They are real motivated professional content creators putting in SO much effort and time to make their viewers happy~ I hope they take a well deserved break from going above and beyond, because it not only should allow them to come back refreshed and with new ideas, but it also opens up opportunities for the newer members to take a shot at hosting big events in the time those used to be~! :>
I remember back then in 2020 holomems had to build the courses themselves and the server was so laggy. Seeing how advanced everything in this year event made me teared up. They've come so far!
As someone who managed a few events during my organization days, I can definitely relate to Mio here. It was HARD. Managing a bunch of people, planning the venues and the schedule, and managing the budget, etc..
the first thing i thought of was that there was no lag in the server with that many people and even the en members did not have lag the events were fun they really did a good job
The pot fairies may be a silly project, but it's certainly a fun one lol. Anyway, it's good that they are taking a break from hosting all these big projects, not only do they get to step back and relax maybe they may even get to be more of an active participant rather than a behind the scenes one from now on.
It is understandable, burden of making this event is HUGE, even if they skipped the theme song and many other things which cost a lot of money. Fortunately tho, I think HoloID is still going to continue their Independence Day ID Minecraft Sports Festival (which takes place every August). So hopefully we will still have Holo Sports Festival like this, involving all branches, but in smaller scale. If you haven't yet, check out the VOD of Holo ID Sport Festival. They played Badminton, Soccer, Tug of War, etc which were super super fun, even Pekora and Marine participated in it.
Miko,Mio and Subaru has amazing chemistry, I'm looking forward to their next Pot Fairies stream, I still watch their last pot fairies stream from time to time.
We've come so far and HoloSports Fes has arguably peaked in terms of what it can offer. It's almost hard to believe this has just been a personal project all this time. But it most definitely is. IIRC Miko is the one that started it all and Mio came in to share the responsibility. This year, we even had Subaru on as the 3rd host. I've looked forward to this event ever since it first happened. It's such a cool way to bring Holomembers together and it's always a source of fun and unique interactions you'd probably never witness if it weren't for this recurring event. But after everything, there's just one thing left to say. Otsukaresama deshita to everyone involved. I'll be spending a lot of time jumping between different POVs of this year just as I did for the previous years.
I remember the huge impact the Sports Festival had when Mio and Miko returned from their hiatuses with it in 2020, so I'm sad to see it end for the foreseeable future. The fact that they kept it going for 4 years and made it better each time is extremely impressive. I would always look forward to it as the big Hololive collab event for the Fall season, but the difficulty to keep it going, especially with only 3 people organizing it, everyone's busy schedules, and the costs associated with it, is very understandable. I hope to see Mio, Miko, and Subaru do another project; they have a great bond and are always hilarious together!
That is also good in some part like NNN for Risu, leaving the space for other things it can be use too like a different idea from everyone else and they don't feel pressure to do the same again next year.
It's been really fun with a lot of great memories. The girls already work really hard all year, so I'm fine with them unburdening themselves from this fairly large event.
I wonder if they could find some sponsorships for this event... because it gains a lot of attention and tbh a lot of fans anticipates it every year... if they fund their own projects and money is involved, having a sponsor for their individual project, like this event, might help... but i wonder if that is possible...
Wouldn't it be something if there were, I don't know, a billion dollar corporation that could actually give their talents money to make special projects that drum up large amounts of support. Wouldn't that be convenient.... for everyone but the shareholders, I guess.
@@allenbocephus That would be a bit of burden of responsibility for the one initiating the project though, because it's a advertise stream, they would have to adjust some thing (like adding banner or maybe short sponsor) on their stream, also they have to make sure it's success because cover would get involved with it.
@@Arkesant Official event would mean that Cover would do the whole thing (making building etc) and they have to make money of it, like HoloFes. Also, most talent have tight schedule, and maybe not be able to participate in many official event.
If they get a sponsor, the project might continue, but,it's going to be hard to do. An event full of publicity and advertising would probably be criticized. The most desirable thing is for fans to pay for it. To encrease the number of viewers or to accept to watch for a fee. If we can't do it, can't blame them.
i am a little sad, i don't realy need the sport festival but it worked so well because it's mostly the only one big event where all the memebers can do a very big collab and do a friendly competition. what is good of it is seeing all the interaction that with the more busy schedule of the members is hard to see
It is what it is. If they think their time (and stress etc) is better spent elsewhere i can't blame them. They know what goes into it. We don't. If we're lucky they will find alternatives. Maybe not with all three branches, but more (albeit smaller) events would be okay. Stuff where they can just use the game and not need outside help. All that aside getting so many of them together has to be a logistical nightmare. Getting a few of them together can be very difficult at times let alone dozens. No way to know for sure, but you can tell these things stress and tire them out. The company is changing and so are they. Sad fact of all things.
The BIG 3 of hololive. Thank you for their hard work for all these years. Understandable and respect their decision for not continuing Holo sport festival. Beside fairy pot, I hope they can revive back haiku contest and play tag (killing each other) in minecraft mansion.
Well it is a given that any project will cost money... Thanks to Mio, Miko and Subaru for planning and hosting four years of several Sport tournaments !!! Maybe in the future there will be another team that will helm this project or co-op with these trio to restart back the Sport Tournament...
It was a MioMiko project that later Subaru joined in to create a trio. A lot of work goes into preparing every single event and design. They saved up some money by building the venues themselves, but its on a deadline since they need to complete the venues before giving it to the people who would do the coding next. They cant do large events in the main Holoserver anymore due to the amount of people and constructions done, so it has to be in a separate world/server. It was fun while it lasted. Hope someone would pick the banner up next year, maybe instead of a few people hosting it, a group/unit could host it like the ID and EN events, spreads out the cost but would be painful for those still struggling to survive.
Understandable for them to make the choice they did. we got 4 great festivals so best to lay it to rest with good memories instead of it becoming a problem for the girls in the future.
People might have different perspective *which one is the fun part* in the event of Sport Fes. But for me personally, I don't really care about the games (match) that much, what I really care was the interaction between members. To begin with, Im not a MC player. So, back when I start watching Hololive in early 2020, I barely watch anything that relate to MC aside from the clips. Also around that time, ARK was the game that Holo Play almost everyday. So I dont really attached to MC that much. Until the revival of MC, where everyone start to coming back. From Aqumarine GO + Akukin revival arc, PekoMoon + UsaKen revival arc, Miko demon lord arc, PekoMikoShuba War, etc. Thats make me rethink, *Wow, MC actually a fun stream to watch. Especially when this interaction happening.* So from there, I become MC enjoyers, every stream expect sudden interaction between members. When Sport Fes 1st announce in 2020, Im not really that interested. I mean, I dont even know what its gonna looks like. Until Miko start doing a big project like Elytra Hunting to building the area + game from scratch. What made me love MC stream in the first place, show up in every members MC stream. Many members start helping Miko, more interaction while goofing around happening, etc. Its so fricking fun. Until Sport Fes 2020 happens and show what this event about and Im really into it. This Event been perfected in next year of Sport Fes 2021, where they still do things like Sport Fes 2020 with additional using command block to make Miko and Mio works easier. Thats what a Blast event. One of my favorite event. And come Sport Fes 2022, this where thing start to crumble for me (or maybe for Miko and Mio too, my take on this because in Sport Fes 2021 after Miko, Miko envision and passion about something, where *she want to do an actual mix team between branch* to make interaction more fun. But the that not happening in Sport Fes 2022, instead its happening in Sport Fes 2023). Because what happen in sport fes 2022, its the exact repeat of what Happen to Rust in the same year. Why do I say like that? Well, this the summaries what happen to Rust, and you can compare to Sport Fes later. Rust S1, the start of the game, kinda start to build up what good or bad for the rules, but still ended up being a good game in the end. Rust S2, perfected everything from S1, which made the content so much fun, even more fun at the last war. And Rust S3 happening, for some reason Staff start taking what *FUN* about the game and add some useless rule that kill the joy of playing + watching the stream. I understand their intention, but thats not what Rust about. Its about how to get their stuff to end game, and at the end of the month, war. This, they start to make thing easier (that can be done in 1 day) and also start gatekeep what they can build or not. So its ended killing the content. Do you see the similarity with Sport Fes? Yes, Sport Fes 2022 also like that. They tried to make thing easier by killing what makes Sport Fes good in the first place. Rush everything, they even doing stupid thing like splitting the team so you can only watch part of which members play. Again, I understand their intention, its good, but thats not it. People said to me when I rant about this, "Its for the talent, because the timezone different, bla bla bla", yes I know. But did you forget how they play Sport Fes 2020 and 2021? They don't force the members to participate or stay. Sport Fes 2020/2021, if members can participate, they in. If they too tired oor they have business to attend, they can leave early. If they want to rejoin later, they can rejoin later. So its really like a festival you know, they can join whenever they can enjoy it. No one force it. But in the end, for this sport fes 2022, who get the hate? Its Miko and co. Sport Fes 2023 is the perfection between the concept of 2020/21 and 2023, but the cost of it was *MONEY* . If you follow the story about *ID CUP* from ID girls, you can get nice insight there. Where they explain how to do event like this if they want to use heavily mod server. Cover can't use mods freely. So cover have 2 ways to do their stuff. 1st *rent ready to use mods* , but this not permanent. They can only use this for limited amount of time. If they want to reused it, they need to make new contract for rent it again. 2nd *use in house modder* , this permanent, but cover really need to hire someone to work for them to make this mods. For *ID CUP* , they use the 1st option. Thats why when Kiara ask Moona/Kaela about "Can we preserve this server" and the answer is "NO". Its because of that. While Sport Fes 2023 using 2nd option. Cover also release a public statement about this, you can found it on their twitter. From my perspective, the 2nd option more expensive, because at this stage, cover still looking for staff who can make those in house mod. But if they manage to hire them, in the long run this can be more cheaper. But why Sport Fes 2023 more expensive? Well, you know what I mean. Not only they choose 2nd option, they also made a OG song out of it (which is cost lots of money) and voice pack for it (which is nice for the members if you guys buy it to support them). Now sport Fes 2023 happening, and the concept was back to 2020/2021, what about it? Which concept is the best? This or 2022? Of all those shiet happening, who get the hate? Welp, its Miko and co. You guys see the problem here? This maybe just my personal opinion, but its more like Miko co. got burnt out of it. This start as passion project that slowly start to change into corporate project.
Honestly I'm not surprised. With events like these, money would also definitely be an issue not even considering the work behind the scenes involved in coordinating everyone's schedules. They've done a lot of work for the last 4 years and I'm happy I got to experience watching such an event in the first place
No wonder since 2021 they were playing less minecraft solo because they were exhausted with managing the big project. I believe that's why before they're managing/producing big projects we get to see Mio, Subaru and Miko play a lot of solo Minecraft and the server was fully packed with lots of fun interactions. After merging of HoloEn and HoloJp server things were quite less interactive too than it was before. Even though we used to wish a lot that it would be so cool and amazing when we would be able to get the servers merged. I really missed those days when HoloEn joined, but also I am glad that we have come so far.
They need to descale much of it probably if there's any Holomem wants to take the baton from these 3 especially when the 3 that has many experience planning for big event felt the burden is getting too much.
For now, we have Holo ID & their Sports Festival I guess? I mean.. it also includes all branches' participations, with many interesting games. The difference so far is just the lesser number of people participating compared to JP's.
Well there the reason why Olympic game are hosted every 4 year, it take an lot of time to prépair and cost an insane ammount of money, so dont worry and take your time
Knowing how high the production values in that event I'm not surprise it's cost a lot of money I'm surprise they didn't launch physical merch (this year they launch voice pack) or try monetize it even more to recoup production cost. Knowing Holofans I know they gladly throwing money at them to support. I guess it's not about money, It's about mental cost, trying to juggle preparing event, streaming, and being idol. My respect to this trio Miko, Mio, and Subaru grow even bigger.
Sorry to hear there won't be another one. I really enjoyed it. I can understand choosing not to do it again though. Maybe the ID summer sports festival will act as a replacement for it going forward? That one was a lot of fun watching and while it was smaller in scale, they still had members from all branches participating.
It's not that there won't be another one. They just don't have a plan for another Sport festival, and if anyone want to step up for the task, they would give way. Maybe if they are willing to do it there will be another sport festival but for now there are no plan to continue.
I believe Mio about the money part, and now with latest MC usage guidelines It took a turn to worse, maybe it's for the better to avoid any further issues using MC.
Theese girls put a TON of effort and time, and dedication, into doing something fun for the group. If they want that to be the last one and take a break for a year, or if they decide not to do it again, or to do it periodically, that's perfectly fine. I imagine it was pretty damn expensive, paying for the music and the animations and the coders to do the minigames and everything... Yeah, I bet it wasn't cheap at all. I appreciate them, and all of their hard work and time, and efforts. People think being a streamer is easy, but it is absolutely not. People have no idea how hard they work.
Sports festival was a silly project (even Miko said it was decided on a whim), but somehow it grew to become the most anticipated and attended by (almost) all Holomems across the branches. The bar keeps getting higher, new Holomems keep debuting, but the struggle to keep up were probably diminished. Probably UsaKen Summer Fest or even HoloID Cup can take the torch even though it's not as huge as sport fest (in term of production and administration). I hope with the end of Sport Fest, more creative and more unique events are already cooked by other Holomems to bring more entertainment and more collaboration!
Yeah, I didn't expect a project like this to be cheap; just the MV is bound to cost a pretty penny, even if Mio came up with the song herself. I'm just glad we got to experience it for four years! For now, the Hololive Sports Festival will be shelved, but who knows? Maybe somebody else could take up the mantle down the line~
I saw a few comments discussing about money issues and I just want to say that that's not the main reason why they decided to stop hosting Sport Festival (for next year at least), Miosha talk about it to explain why they can't just ask someone else to host the event instead of them next year. The main reason is the amount of work and pressure they faced preparing the event on top of so many things they have to do for their own and official projects/events. Mikochi even mentioned that she and Miosha almost had a fight during the preparation of the 1st Sport Festival (more detail in the After Event Stream in Subaru's channel). One other reason I guess is the number of participants (this is purely my opinion, so please don't take it as fact) because everyone getting busier and busier each year so it's probably hard to fit the event within so many members' schedule, I think they got lucky this year that there're a lot of new member debuted this year so the event got as many participants as they got.
Unless Cover take over the project, only time will tell when the sport festival happen again. I guess it's the same with Okayu's Trial, Mio's 5-7-5 Poem Competition, and many more.. Cover now only focus on concerts and 3D development. And the burden to create massive collab stream must be on the hand of those who joins in later year, they can't leave it to their older gen to create or manage it. So far the yearly content of thisassive collab if I'm not wrong is: > Hololive JP New Year > Holo JP Summer Fest > Holo ID Independence Day > Holo EN Halloween > Holo JP Kindergarten
That makes more sense. Considering that all 3 of them might save money for Sololive, it is good to tone down personal project. After all, their kouhai can take over if needed.
Sports Fest represents one of the few opportunities for viewers to see the different members interact amongst themselves. I feel as though events like the Sports Fest breeds new friendships, knocks down perceived barriers, and harmonizes otherwise separate groups of both members and viewers to unite as one. I realize how selfish it is to impose such a burden on them for the sake of our entertainment. Their decision is understandable given the time, effort, and stress planning for these events take on the three of them, especially now with their increased responsibilities. However, it is bittersweet to know that those opportunities of bonding, camaraderie, and making lasting memories and friendships will not happen in the future. At least not in this form. Perhaps something else will take it's place. Perhaps someone else will take up the torch. This is not the end, but perhaps the opportunity for a new beginning.
>how selfish it is to impose such a burden on them for the sake of our entertainment. Theyre entertainers, it's what they're paid to do, and it's what we pay them (in supas/memberships/etc) to do
@@goleogthais Bruh, they are not contracted to hold events like this, as they said they pay for these out of their own pockets! It is selfish to ask them to take more time out of their schedule to do optional extra content that they not only pay for themselves but also need to spend ample time on to co-ordinate! Please, do not be that guy and think of them as if they are dancing monkeys on a stage
Maybe Cover themselves will help produce the event next year, who knows? If there's demand for it, Yagoo does seem like someone that will arrange for it to happen.
@@matasa7463They can't because Cover know that, once they help "a" (from fund or logistic) talent event, other talent also wants it, Cover will go bankrupt that way
I dont think is a bad thing. Maybe they can do something smaller, less time consuming and equally fun and above all, different. Let's support them as we usually do.
Such a shame. Sports Fes is one of a few rare events that we can see EN, ID and JP interract freely, even between people that never spoke to each other before.
I'm not disappointed or sad that the Sports Festival isn't continuing next year; I'm glad that we had it for so long to this point. Thanks to Mio, Miko and Subaru for doing this! Each one was very memorable and enjoyable.
i hope they make a big event with many games like 3 team(blue red green) like hololive minecraft sport fes but the games will be apex mario kart or other team games it will be a 3 to 5 day game fes
I mean.. doing normal events still possible. Like usaken summer fes in their main channel. All they do is just to pay for server and it's monthly or yearly.
I suppose that explains why all the newest members joined, since it was the last chance ever to participate (shame about Raden, though, but at least she got to get a bit of a taste with the training runs, I guess)
kinda understand it though. it stops being fun when the responsibility comes with the pressure of delivering a better event than the last. they can't really host it at the Holoservers because it'll just be a repeat of the Summer Festivals that they had and probably even worse. in cases like these is where Pekora shines, she'll probably cook up some kind of new event again as she usually does. on the other hand, Mio deserves all the praise. she's always within the collaboration scene for big events like this.
I didn't know Mikochi already announced that there might not be Hololive Sports Festival next year. It's sad, but understandable. It costs a lot, not just money but also time and efforts. But there's still HoloID Cup. I don't know about the funding, but it's possible that it got help from Cover since it's not solo project but rather a branch project to commemorate Indonesia Independence Day. And also all of ID members are in charge of the project, so the burden is carried by 9 people. If possible, MikoMioShuba could give pointers or maybe become something like advisor to HoloID Cup. So that HoloID Cup can continue the legacy of Hololive Minecraft Sports Festival if even a little bit.
Holoid cup this year only moona ollie and kaela that actively preparing the event and their events actually really good the only downside is probably the amount of participants
@@akunjooxno2592 The head 'mandor' was Moona of course, but the others were also helping. About the amount of participants, it could be because the notification for the event is too close to the D-day so the schedules are mostly booked already. And there's also the bigger event such as this Sports Festival. That's why next year, there might be more participant since the Sports Festival is no longer be held.
Theoretically, if there is enough demand for it Cover might go "Do the sports meet, we will pay for it". Still doesn't help them in the effort and planning front, but at least the financial burden will be shifted.
Aside from all the monetary costs and such, as time goes on Holo members only get busier and busier. At some point doing the sports festival just doesn't make sense.
Each of them actually rely a lot on each other, in a sense, each of them are leaders, even of the most underrated talent. They're all glues to one another. But yes, some shine more than the others in terms of organising and lifting up spirits and motivations. They might have more resources (such as time, money and energy), knowledge (important!) and experience (very important!) to be able to stand out and lead. Miko is someone that knows how to bounce off of a person to another so naturally, people follow her and can be under her guidance. her clumsiness is just an aspect that made her more adorable and relatable. who is never clumsy in their life, right? ❤
It makes sense, money is the main issue but also the scheduling of the members... Mio san letting the door open for anyone else to organize the event leaves a lot to expect who might try to host the festival next year (if you ask me, maybe the ID girls might take the chance, their sports event was good) Thank you Mio san, Subaru and Miko for carrying the sports events.
I'm sure managing the event is stressful. As for the money though, while it seems like only a few take the burden, if they set up something like a GoFundMe that targets to big events only, people would likely fund it just so it happens. I know it won't be easy just like that, but it's a way of lessening the burden.
I wish i was on Holostars! I'm from mexico and we know a LOT of people that know how to prepare minecraft servers and mods like this Man, even Samsung prepared an exclusive mod for a spain series so they can promote the new phone a few months ago It was an actual phone working on minecraft and some other unique mods created exclusively to use in their series I applied for what is now Holo Tempus but i didn't make it, sadly i've been sending my entries a few times already but no luck so far
If they do decide to do it again maybe see if cover will get some sponsors or allow for them to get sponsors for it to pay all the operating cost and heck even a profit to share among all participants
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad holo do have a decent rev share with their talents, but I really do think that when it comes to supporting talent projects, ESPECIALLY the ones that aim to incorporate every branch of the organisation of and when possible, they should have some form of relief payment to cover a portion of the costs. In cases like this, I do also think the talents running should also spread the costs across participants to some extent, but that Cover should also foot a good chunk of the bill (say, 30%) and chuck a couple managers in to keep the project steady. As it is, I've enjoyed watching the events when I can and the clips when I can't, so while it's sad that we're losing it for potentially a year or two, I'm thankful that they kept at it, and that it seems they don't intend to outright eternally discard the event
for this event if you make other members to pay to participate, then i think the event would be much less popular, if i am an en member i would just go sleep then stay up at 3 in the morning to participate a paid event, even when it's free, many members didn't participate, if you make any party other than the host pay, the event will not happen or look really different.
While they would probably never do it the monetary issue could be easily solved if they set up a donation fund for the festival costs. I'm sure whatever amount they need would be covered by the fans but realistically I guess this is something they'd probably never do.
Well, hopefully the Yearly Mario Kart Tournament remains as a way for all three branches to mingle. I'm going to miss the sports festival, but it's understandable.
This outcome has felt kind of inevitable eventually. Though, I'm not going to lie, considering how iconic the event has become, I'm disappointed that it didn't get picked up as an official Hololive project backed by the company, at least financially.
It feels like this is something that Cover should be paying for. It's the biggest collaboration of hololive talent every year. Well, I also think that it would be fine for other girls to take up the task of hosting so that it's not on the same people each year.
Anyone here watch the MCC? I wonder how much that costs, maps, physical prizes (coins)... and they try and do that multiple times a year. For the Hololive Sports Fest, other than the theme song, what else that actually cost money... I mean, I didn't even know they had a theme song. I caught the streams late. The cover art for their characters, skins maybe? Too bad this is the last.
The money mention is probably way of Mio to shut down the questions about the topic. They probably are tired of doing it and want to move to other projects.
renting the server and running the server. hiring moderators that know how to run the server and check for bugs. other wise as mention, the minigames need coding. also to make sure the server lag free, you need rent like server that can run smoothly for all regions. remember 3-4 years ago some people got lag due to regional differences? this time went smoother because of the server they rent. also, more holomems means need bigger server GB to run, also means need more money
with so many fans watching, big event like this, maybe need some sponsor/ads/PPL , to help about money problem...and the time of event maybe every 2 years...
Fans that's willing should offer to make the place, plan games and music if they want another Holo sports fest to happen. So the girls will only focus on hosting the event. If they can make free holo games out of passion, they can surely make a custom Minecraft world seed for the fest. Hope some generous fans would step up.
Wouldn't it be something if there were, I don't know, a billion dollar corporation that could actually give their talents money to make special projects that drum up large amounts of support. Wouldn't that be convenient.... for everyone but the shareholders, I guess.
Tbf, she didn't say money was the reason they stopped, but it is the reason it's not easily transferred to someone else unless they don't mind paying. But it's good of her to give this additional context, since many people in comments i saw were like 'just have someone else do it how hard can it be'.... As if the big coordination and planning isn't enough of a reason to let it rest after a while. Ah well, i will miss it since this event is like the central source of wonderful clips and new friendships since members are forced to interact. But maybe something else will pop up. Maybe it's also a hint from Mio and co to management: "you like this content we produced for 4 years? Then help pay for it plz".
