I'm so glad to discover your channel🐟 as a woman who is 31 and gets bored of my mundane and alone life your actions somehow gave me hope, even the possibility of hoping..
It looks like you made a wise move. I lived in Tokyo for six years, and I felt bad for the people who worked so many hours with the hope of having some free years in retirement. I think I would have enjoyed my experience in Japan more if I lived in the countryside.
I cried when I watch your video, I'm here after your quit 9to5 job, I totally agree with you, I'm 34(why covid made 4 years flies so fast) and I can't even remember the last time I live so freely n pure happiness and smile on face, when I saw ur smile it remind me that time. I'm at the place where I'm struggling to quit my job but yet only thing holding me back is the rent n bills and my cats med bill, my beloved cat is going through chemo treatment right now and I need this stable income. But yes, feel miserable and everything you said was exactly how I feeling. U r right, everyone is replaceable too, not only I can supervise my team and clients. Thank you for sharing your video, I know I'm not alone in this. 😢 I hope one day I'm able to do this soon, I have plan and I'm doing it, once I got that I'm able to quit my job and live like this ❤
I just found your RU-vid and I feel the same as you. So many Japanese friends suffer in their workplace: long hours and stress. Many Japanese have told me that life ends when u join a company because Japanese surrender their lives to the corporate world. I respect your courage to follow your dreams, you smile and even your eyes look happy. I am in Asia too but originally I am from the opposite side of the world. I go to Vietnam often and if u want to try to live in a cheap place maybe you can try Vietnam, Cambodia or Thailand. If you budget well you can live well for 1.5 to 2k USD. Vietnam is interesting and if you don’t like big cities u can live in a small town up the coast and life is really cheap. Go and follow your dreams!!!! I will watch all your videos. I understand how you feel about life and the corporate world.
I can relate to you in so many ways! I quit my job, moved out of the city, and haven't returned since I resigned, now I'm just living in a province but with less traffic, less expenses, less stress and fewer people. And I don't regret that I'm not earning now as much as I used to. At least, now I have more time for myself. 🙂
this is interesting, the perception. I lived in Tokyo twice. First time as a student and I didn’t like it, it was this feeling like in “lost in translation” then second time after I just got married and it was a completely different experience, for me Tokyo was peaceful, calm, no rush and positively “boring”, as compared to Hong Kong where I’d lived before.
Really enjoyed your Vlog. I quit my job last summer with similar situation ~ started to rethink what is life means to me and what I really like to do~ and your vedio gave me a lot of motivation and encouragement ❤ thanks
@@mylifeasmako Hey, I feel you have loads of scope to have a crazy amount of subscribers. If you can take us into the magical world of Japan. Because of Anime every time I look at the pictures of Japan it just makes me so happy. The soothing calm in the air, the cleanliness, the colors they appear to be from a different world.
Great video! My goal is to move to Tokyo from LA, but now I'm thinking I should live in the country side haha. Also, what camera are you filming with? It looks good
I wish I could find an answer to my situation like you have. I feel so unhappy and unsatisfied with my life its direction. But seeing these changes you did and from the other video I saw about you quitting your job gives me some insight for my own path. So thank you for sharing and I hope you find success in your new endeavors! Cheers 🍻🍻
Hello from CA & arigato gozaimazu 4 wonderful video! Once lived in Tokyo(Ryogoku) in an apt the size of small bathroom, teaching English & going out nonstop to all your great cafes & restaurants because i didn't know anyone, couldn't take being alone every night and loved the freedom & safety(unlike the US at night) but it got 2 me after a year & moved to Indonesia 4 a more laid-back lifestyle before moving bk 2 the US. Love your cooking videos, keep making them! Take care.
"It was like living in a camper van minus the nature part" that resonated with me so much! I also feel very cooped up in a small apartment in a city-suburb, and am keeping my sights set on a home out in nature soon 💚 I'm really glad you found a soft space to land 💚
so nice video beautiful good content good of you nice thinking.do you live there alone hope you do not mind me asking you do not need to answer if you do not want
I feel the same as you do. I quit my job too and seeking for a place to live such a life myself. Went to check out tokyo few months ago and frankly i hated it. Wasnt sure japan was the place for me. But where you are staying looks beautiful and maybe i shouldve checked more suburban areas! But my japanese wasnt good enough to travel outside of tokyo alone cuz im also a girl 😢. Do you mind telling me the area u moved to?
Thank you for your comment! :) if you don’t speak Japanese, you might want to look into Yokosuka, Shonan, and Yokohama area as there are many foreigners living and many people understand English!
@@mylifeasmako i actually do speak alittle. currently studying for N1. but its definitely not enough to live comfortably. thank you for your suggestion! im also looking for a warm place all year round near the sea, but not too far from big cities. I also found it as a vegan extremely difficult to find good quality produce in Tokyo. I was so surprised. I was wondering whether warmer places towards the south might have better. anyways i will check out those places, thanks mako!
thank you, I have a video focusing on my finance here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G_NNygPJJ2k.htmlsi=Ct2xLeD_0UQBZ17t :) I pay less than $500 per month including utilities (my bf has a work room so he pays more,) which helps a lot!
@@mylifeasmako got it! Thank you for sharing that! Yeah, the idea of living off my saving without clear source of income is probably my biggest fear…..
