Once again my problems are a multi-bardwell marathon screening. After a bowl of popcorn and 3 videos I have a night of debugging ahead of me. Thank you JB. Patreon’d yesterday but far too late for the value you give to the universe
Other OPTION❗❗❗❗ GO Into your radio setting and find tbs agent light. Conect your drone/plane Go to setting for your rx that's connect and change 8 Chanel to 12 channel.
it's so hard to find simple answers to simple problems as a noob on edgetx... i just want a 100 to -100 switch. but can only seem to set up momentary switch on button. it's so frustrating. you almost told me how to do it. almost.
What are you trying to do? Turn a momentary switch into a toggle? This isn't really a setup tutorial but if you tell me what you're trying to do, I probably have a video that shows how to do it.
I have my mixer set up using the switch setting you describe as being wrong here but it’s a variant of your all modes on one channel method. The way I am doing it though doesn’t try to cram everything into one channel but groups modes together that don’t need to be activated at the same time with no more than one mode that does. This minimizes the number of ranges needed in BetaFlight. There is a limit to how many you can have in BetaFlight. Think it’s about 22 to 25.
I daisy chained the inputs and mixes first time I did it because I thought you had to describe everything at each stage. When you first encounter the tiers of control menus it does seem awfully confusing with excessive redundancy, I guess there is a good reason for it outside of drones, maybe?
It's for setting up advanced features on craft without a computer controller. Crow on a glider is a good example. Crow is used for slowing down and requires the coordinated use of aileron, elevator, and flaps. You could make independent inputs for each control surface with certain restrictions specifically for crow(like adding a little bit of reflex in the wing via raising the ailerons, and adding a bit of down elevator to counteract the flaps), and then mix those together in the mixer so you can assign it to a switch or slider that will control all the inputs at once. All this could be done just with the mixer, but using inputs adds the ability to fine tune the behavior of each of the controls independently.
And I noticed that you were talking about; ".....because that's an input icon....." or some such similar, where do you find a listing for what the different icons mean?
@@JoshuaBardwell ummm, well how do you know then? Talked to the dev/manufacturer? I can only intuit the ones that i know are -whichever type of selection thing the icon is next too-. So, outside of some kind of source to learn it from, presumably; you couldn't either. Thanks for the "Welcome". Been here since you were tiny. 😉
I was trying to figure out why one of my 3-position switches only acted like a 2-position switch. It turned out that under the Hardware screen the 3 pos switch I was trying to get working was set as a 2 pos switch. Another one of the 2 pos switches was set as a 3 pos switch but that didn't impact its functionality. After swapping those settings it is working as it should. I'm thinking that since I upgraded this Taranis X-lite Pro to Edge Tx these settings were set wrong by default. Side note, this radio has been great and by putting an ELRS module in it I think I can get a lot more mileage out of it.
Great resource, sir! It took me many hours to discover just a couple of these items. The 'no inputs for auxiliary channels' bit can save pilots a lot of, um, consternation. Thanks!
Thank you for: ELRS only outputs 2 positions. The issue now is that my minipix fc with its pre-installed firmware doesn't have the parameter to change the channel for flight modes which is set to channel 5.
In your failsafe tab check the value of your buzzer switch. Usually, you'll want failsafe to activate the buzzer, but if you power up with no radio, it's going to drive you batshit. I'm not sure if that's your problem but...maybe it will help.
Additional info I finally found out when seeing your phone. ELRS supports only 12 channels. I was the whole time wondering why tf my S1/S2/LS/RS didn‘t worked because iNav showed my 17 channels, all switches where configurated right (followed 13, 14, …) and nothing happened. Tried now to set like S2 to ch12 and it worked like a charm. Hopefully some future fellow stumble on this comment when bewing in the same situation.
I was setting up flight modes on two switches a while back. It was not working and I was getting very odd outputs on the debug keys screen. (Basically, I was seeing switch changes when moving a different physical switch.) I emailed Radiomaster for advice. They suggested removing the main ribbon cable in the Tx, cleaning the contacts (I wiped them with alcohol) and reinstalling it. That fixed it, and it's been fine for over a year. FYI for anyone troubleshooting.
I had similar issues a year or two back when I bought a Jumper TX. Four of the switches didn't work and I flashed, changed and checked the software and settings before hitting the forums. I was so worried it was the board. Read the forums and they suggested opening and flipping the cables. This worked. At some point they should have used a thicker wire as the wire ribbon is so thin that the latch crimps the cable so thin not all paths make contact.
Thank you for the information, spent 2 hours last night trying to figure out why my 3 position switch on my new boxer only acted as a 2 position, drove me crazy that the higher values were not registering. I ended up resetting the switch mix with the reset feature and started reprogramming the mixer. Some how I must have assigned a value to that switch drop down and limited the range. Your video now confirms that the radio did not have a bug, it was all me being to lazy to read the full documentation. Thank you again for putting my mind at ease and explaining the actual issue.
Can you help me out Joshua? I have a radioking opentx transmitter that i use for my velecodrone sim. One day the select mode screen pops up and i no longer is connected with my sim. What do i do when selecting 'USB Joystick (HID)?
