In 2011, I was hired for my first “real job” as a worship leader. It was a part-time position at a mid-sized church with two services. When I arrived the first day of work, the lead pastor told me they used Planning Center Services to plan their worship gatherings. I had never used Planning Center before. I had no clue how much I was mission out on this powerful tool.
Within a few days of using the software, I discovered how much easier my life as a worship leader would become. For the past seven years in worship ministry, it has been just as important of a tool to me for staying organized as other apps like Gmail, Dropbox, and iCal.
I cannot image worship ministry without it.
I want to pause and let you know that Planning Center is not sponsoring this post and I am not an affiliate partner. In my opinion, they are currently the best option for church management software, and their domination of this space all began with their Planning Center Services app.
If you are not using Planning Center to keep your worship ministry organized, you are missing out big time.

What makes our church using planning center (Services) is the scheduling feature and being able to put everybody in the same page with service plans. It saves a lot of time. Back then, we had to texting and calling our volunteer with a spreadsheet in our hands just to inform their schedule and asking their availability.

The only barrier to entry for my church is that Planning Center doesn't seem to be interested in supporting other languages. My Spanish speaking church is now growing to the point where this app would be highly beneficial.

This software is legit a lifesaver! Their customer service is the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! I contacted them a confusing email about something and first email back, they fixed it PERFECTLY!!!

Is a setting that I can turn on so that I will be notified if changes have been made to a schedule that I'm on? For example sometimes a songs key changes and I'd like to be notified when that happens. Thx!

How can I go about uploading files that I already have saved, that are not technically from a website, they’re arranged chords for our church into Planning center? Does every file have to be from CCLI? Our church works with its own set of chord arrangements but, it’s not to eliminate that we haven’t worked chords from online sites too. Answers will be appreciated 👍

This is a nice video but HOW do we do these things? I want to be able to down load my arrangements of songs and to edit existing songs but do not know how.

The only reason why I was potentially interested in planning center is because I was looking for something that had a legal database of MP3's for all worship songs in their original key that could be transposed with a click of a button so I could practice with my team and play along to the songs in whatever key we were doing them in that Sunday....does anyone offer that kind of service?

There's an app called Moses which do what you want. It separates the song by instrument/voice until five tracks, you can change the key, tempo and it maps the chords of the song.

What makes PC better than other options, like Worship Tools? I've used both, and it seems like PC is so much more complicated and unintuitive. In Worship Tools, everything I need and use the most is right out in the open, and I don't have to connect it with a 3rd party service like Pro Presenter because they have an integrated Presenter already.

Jake, correct me if I am wrong. Did you say that I can download a song and upload it to Planning Center then transpose it? My understanding is that Planning Center only transpose chords, are you talking about transposing an MP3 file?
