The same thing was happening to me and I adjusted…started throwing the high ball and my completion % went up significantly…not sure if the mechanics in Madden had me throwing a certain way in CFB25 but I’m very happy with the end result!
Probably his sliders at 100 I would guess, 90% of the catches in this video my receivers NEVER would have caught in my dynasty and I have WR catching at 75 lol
For stopping the run, if you have adjust your coverage to underneath, will that have all your DBs not backpedal first? I notice when you make that adjustment, it changes the deep LB/CB purple zones to switch to hard flats.
Tampa 2? No Cover 2 sucks against the run because it hard sells on the pass If your opponent knows you're in Cover 2, prepare for them to audible and run on you Red Zone defense when playing in Play Now is a gamble If your D Line doesn't block shed, the QB easily scrambles for a touchdown if nobody is open How you play defense in this game is you figure out your opponents tendencies and adjust coverages to force them to snap out of their habits Civil likes Tampa 2 in the red zone as he's used to people trying to throw over the middle, but if someone always throws fades to the sidelines, then maybe you pick a different base coverage
FACTS it's still on the frostbite engine as with Madden they're both kiddy like and if they made a realistic sim then ppl like us wouldn't complain but the goofies and Madden apologist would cry😢😂😂
IMO, it’s still night and day better than Madden. It’s currently the best football simulation game on the market. Yea, there is some unrealistic bs that happens from time to time but all in all, the gameplay is very enjoyable.
The new update for this game has made me seriously not like it anymore. I used to love playing a few games of Road to the CFB Playoff every night but now I’m thinking of never touching the game again. My receivers can’t catch balls thrown to them when they’re wide open. I can’t strong pitch the option anymore without the ball glitching. My plays that used to work don’t work anymore. I can’t stop the run even though I know it’s coming and know how to stop the run.
They nerfed my entire offense. You can't pitch right anymore. You can't stop the run, so much so they can come out in goalie and you run commit and they break through. My guys are literally wide open, I throw it and the dB sneezes by them and they drop it. My opponents are awarded every 50/50 ball. Most of them run 3 plays all game and think it's a "scheme." Seriously had the absolute worst time in champs this weekend I don't even wanna play this anymore. And they'll inevitably take a month for any new update to address these issues. For context I went 16-3 last week in champs and was dominating so it's not like EVERYONE just figured this shit out this week.
Not to mention you get lacy, and they can press him into the dirt and he can't run by 86-87 speed corners. Oh that's right I can spend 3 ap for my 90 speed wr so he can MAYBE get open on a streak vs some bum dB....jesus
I've been having a lot of success with 3-3 Nickel Over Cover Brackets where the high safeties double WR1 and WR2. Leaves a lot of room for audible and adjustments (e.g. Safety and Corner blitz, put a DL in QB SPY, Drop a DL in mid zone coverage, you name it). I usually shade underneath as the WRs are doubled, and, if you have a team that's good in man and/or play a team with slower WR, the initial CB will disrupt those quick passes and the Safety is waiting. Ensure the RB and TE are covered decently enough in their matchups, of course, but the field is practically in disarray once they get to the end zone. Plus, the shade under helps prevent the QB from escaping if somehow you mess up. Know the depth chart, know the matchups, and it works 9/10 for me. Has me at the best RZ % on Defense in my dynasty
Also, this is very similar to Cover 2 that OP said, but I wanted to comment this as 1) specifies Nickel for extra corner, and 2) prevents some people from audibling one safety and forgetting the other one/not having enough time

I wondered why my QB seemed to sometimes throw a low ball, even when I had plenty of time to load up on the X button for a deep pass. It's been frustrating the he!! out of me. The last time I played was on the old NCAA 2006 or something and don't remember a high-ball passing function.
Love videos like these. The red zone and run defense tips are good. I accomplish the same idea out of the cover 4. It adds a bit more to your tips IMO while covering much more against the pass, especially deep. But we accomplish basically the same idea in the same scenarios.
Can you explain how to pull-up the play zone and assignments menu when on the field and go in-depth on what adjustment to make depending on the scenario ? Thanks
@@IkeTN let’s say I’m calling a cover 3cloud or something my cb who should be on the z receiver will line up on the x receiver then try to run across the field to get to his zone leaving my cover blown
You’ve got to do it on the non in-game menu. While in the game that is considered an in-game sub and won’t be carried from game to game. If out of a game go to your depth chart and change it there for it to carry over.

Since the last few updates defense has been Soo much better than what it was in the beginning and the defense plays way better than Madden right now 🤷🏾♂️
