I only like alternate sculpts when they replace a portion of the existing sculps, giving more immersion & variety. More sculpts is just extra bloat which I really don't want to paint, pay extra shipping for, or devote extra space to.
I always wish we had a standee only option. Taking in to account the reduction in price, shipping and how much that helps in taxes, adds up to a lot of money saved for the exact same game.
The only thing I can say about the alternate scopes is that *at least* they provide a different slice of that operators abilities and/or stats. I wish this was an option for each, though, as I'm not sold on how much they're testing balance with this many characters in play.
The obvious answer is, if they make it to retail, expect to pick everything up except the core extras for 50% off new after a year, expect people dropping their pledges on groups for 10% off base price and free shipping after a year. Do you need that now? Game looks solid if the idea of timed play and using a laser to los check with in game penalties if youre wrong after the check is your thing, I don’t like house ruling, and those are so very not my things.
I’m also sure if you just want the skin packs you’ll see codes on eBay if games aren’t your thing. But the code is a good reason to buy if you want both skins and the game.

I don't have one here, that would not price the same as the shipping cost USD$200. ( I am not from Brazil). And ever your country does not get you import tax inclusive of shipping...double good luck for you as well. USD199 for the game, and USD200 for shipping...LOLLLLL....real joke. Even CMON doesn't charge me that much for more boxes than this, and it is tax free for me. Anyway, enjoy paying for your game. Ain't worth it for me.
@@steveliu99 In Hong Kong tabletop game is not popular and it is already hard to find those popular one in retail, not to mention those KS one. My hope is after it go to retail in us or eu, I could bought it on Amazon with lower shipping cost. ( I did it once with Groomhaven and catch the free shipping promote so I don't have to pay extra) Meanwhile I may play it with friends on tts i guess?
I was surprised at the low cost for the base game! Figured it would be $100+. Shipping is up there (even here in the US, especially if all shipping will cost more). Hopefully they are factoring that in. Unless there are some really good daily unlocks, I'll probably be waiting for retail. Looks like an awesome game!
Woah. I never look at shipping when I back any games All-In, and I had completely forgot about this recent shipping fiasco, that is.. until this video. $60 USD to ship to Canada!? Ugh, now that's going to be a tough one to swallow, but I always go all-in because I believe that's the best way to hold value on most Kickstarter game. 😞
2 maps in the base game and selling new maps for 20 dollars a piece? lmao the video game industry really did seap into this one. Crappy microtransactions, light on content and selling expansions that could of easily been in the base game. like those expansion maps are literally in the base rainbow 6 game.
This....there was an earlier vid where i commented about the money grab greed in the video games industry creeping in to the board game hobby scene instead of being drive by passion....but it seems ppl are as oblivious as they were in the video game industry.....really have to be careful about backing games that are being supported by video game devs...

@@Karakura002kingthanks. It is mostly european miniature based game KS projects. Corvus belli is another that ships at exorbitant prices, using expensive logistics. No doubt the miniatures are manufactured in-house in Spain, and token/boards are in China, they ship them back to Spain, repack, and ships to limited hubs around the world, causing prices to be super-inflated. Mythic and Monolith. Steamforge games can be reasonable. anyway, if you want them...that's the hefty price to be paid sadly.
I really think they are missing a huge opportunity to make this a proper multiplayer game. It seems like 2v2 is an afterthought. This game deserves a stronger focus with more meat on the bones for bigger groups. Instead it’s squeezed into the end of the rulebook with a few paragraphs. The fact that it’s mostly a 1:1 puts this in competition with all other skirmish type of games (even the ones from Mythic). Making the game more versatile is worth considering. 4p should be a proper game mode and not a byproduct
You didn't give your usual IP analysis but it applies in spades here, they could have added a ten pack of guards with ViPs, Scientists , Safes and secrets to steal, terminals to hack, really expand the missions for the cost of the Day x packs and rule cards instead of operator profiles. Sicking to IP has narrowed it alot in scope. A little leeway and more gameplay would have attracted even more attention and backers , likely the digital gamers to, add SG around gameplay and could see this going over 2Million , beats Monster Hunyer and other recent KS Arena style battle games. (Note Special Ops modules are really cool)
It certainly looks cool but I just made my spreadsheet for my outstanding board game campaigns and with 24 open campaigns Im at an astoundingly high amount of carboard, plastic, and money spent. I really need to stop buying more. At least till something actually makes it on a shipping container.
I think they need to break this up somehow in stages or payments and they would attract more backers. $400 for a complete game is a lot to ask with only a few days to decide.
Complete game? You do not need the extra characters...if you want the game just get the base game...the extras are just that, extras. Don't give in to FOMO unless you have the means to support that :P
In the FAQ they state this version wont be available in Retail so the question is will the retail include more or less. Suspect if in pledge manager they sell alot of 3d decor it may well replace the cardboard. The only reason not to just pledge a $1 and not advance fund to the last minute is one alternate sculpt, which wil be available for $12 in PM. Everything else is tied to core or expansions, they have confirmed if you buy those the unlocks come with them. Gameplay e.g. maps would de enough but an alternate pose that adds zero gameplay and little aesthetically no way.
I don't think $81 is the MSRP. In the why back section it says that the Zero miniature costs $12 in the pledge manager so it would be $81 in the P.M. I could be wrong, but I'd guess the MSRP would be a little higher.

I see your video and a few other like it but I can't find a single person who actually owns it. It seems odd that the Mythic does not even have it on their website. I just happen to wonder if it isn't weird for Mythic to launch a new campaign as the pledge managers of HEL, and DARKEST DUNGEON, and SUPER FANT BRAWL 2 are still open. Am I the only backer to worry about this kind of stuff? I mean, how can I even seriously look into a new project if I don't beleive I can ever see it delivered at my door one day...? Welp... sucks was hoping this would be an easy decision. Comments in KS did say that the $81 isn't MSRP but just factoring in the free character. Also said that if it makes retail be closer to $100, which highly doubt.. Maybe could throw some at a late pledge of Primal instead
I was planning on going all in, but I’m considering dropping my pledge with the lackluster daily unlocks. The first 3 days of unlocks all seem like they could fall into 1 day. If some of them fall into the expansions, that’s literally zero value for the core back, which would have been a tempting approach too.
@@Emiltat I don't see any difference. My group don't like head to head gameplay. We love 3way 4way 5way gameplay. Chaos is what we want when it come to competitive game.
What is keeping me away so far is the very high price point for the entire game, I hate having only part of a game. I want the whole thing, It's just so expensive. And no word on solo play.

The skin I don’t think will have a lot of value… the game is quite old and don’t have the skin craziness like Fortnite. I back for now but let’s see this will be already my third back for July…
If you are lucky. Kickstarters can take up quite some time due to some uncertainties. For starters, how far into development is the game? Many games are worked out ideas, but still need a ton of work. Than there is volume. How many games need to be produced? Logistics, how are they going to ship out all the games? Those are things that need time, not mentioned yet the proof reading, proof printing etc. If something goes wrong, you will loose more time etc. Hardly know any kickstarter that delivered in time.
It's kickstarter, so june 2022 is unlikely to happen. It will probably be delayed for several months, especially with all the covid related production and shipping drama.
I'd be surprised if it delivered by Dec 2022. The fun thing about KS is following the development manufacture process and working closely with the creators. It's not a store to receive something quickly.
I was going to comment about the absurd price of the laser but then saw he talked about the Army Painter one and I'm sure there are even cheaper generic ones available. When you see the giant markup on that one item it makes me wonder how much of the rest of the game is also that huge of a markup.
I've played R6:siege since it came out and I know people will definitely pay extra for their "Main" character. Sadly this style of game wouldn't fit my groups dynamic.
Great video, I backed the top tier for this. I am a huge rainbow six siege fan so as soon as I saw the kickstarter I had to support it. I am curious to see if all of the expansions are coming out at the same time as the base game or if it's going to be at a later date as this is my first time supporting a board game on kickstarter.
That shipping cost for east Asia just feels bonkers for me. I was really looking forward to this game after watching "that BoardGameCo guy's" video but it's a hard pass at this point :(
Man I was hoping this would be an easy back. However there are no Kickstarter exclusives currently that even sway me at all to not wait for retail. I might change my mind on day 10, so I will just wait and see as things unfold. Also Alex have you thought about throwing out some videos where you just ramble on while painting a mini?
@@BoardGameCo as said by every gamer with minis that haven't been painted yet. Experience tells me if you don't start priming in the week a game arrives you probably never will. My list is huge and I have wet palettes, stockpile of paints , mini holders , grey range of quality brushes, dry brushes, terrain pva brushes ... and with a grown family likely have far more time than you. I painted my GF9 all in Aliens and primed my BattleTech Clan Invasion but Altar Quest and Ancient chronicles get played naked.

If they included the insane number of characters in the base game, it'd be the same price as the all-in plus a much much bigger core box. Sounds like a total "scam" to me T.T
I went core for now. There's a temptation to get year 1 and 2 because that was when I jumped off on the game and everyone I'm familiar with and loved comes up to that point. I'd also like a map pack but the shipping cost definitely stings so I'm going to have to have a serious discussion with myself as to whether I splurge or not ha
I think doing a short campaign without stretch goals really holds this KS back. Rainbow Six Siege is quite a big IP and with this game system it seems like they got a winner on their hand, but comparing this to other mythic projects it is just less of a a value unfortunally. Not really bad, but worse definetely. With the alt sculpts and 3D terrain counted as minis the core will be 1,91 $ per mini while the trooper will be 2,61 $ per mini. Not bad but compare this to Darkest Dungeon or Hel f. e. and it's definitely more. And the increased shipping, which is not their fault but still a factor, adds to that even further... And it's not like there aren't opportunities for cool unlocks.. the hidden operator markers f. e. would really benefit from being plastic since if they wear down over time you might be able to tell which is which which would hinder gameplay. And with just 11 unlocks they won't deluxify all components neither, leaving you with some plastic and some cardboard, which I generally don't love. I think it's a fine back, but not more than that. I'll probably go just with core, especially if they don't add a cheap all-in storage solution, since buying a game in 14 boxes (1 core, 5 years, 2 map packs, 6 alt sculpts) is just bs. This could've been a 2m+ campaign with amazing value, but yeah, fine is okay, too.
Let me see if I can manage to convey the right tone here. I probably won’t do well but I’ll try. I suspect most of your analysis here, while internally consistent, will prove to be way off the mark. That’s because, as far as I’m aware Mythic has yet to do any wide scale retail releases for their games. So yes, IF this is released and available at retail you make very good points. If not…well then the more apt comparison for someone looking to pick this up would be backing the game on KS or eventually buying it from someone else who backed. I’d be curious about your thoughts on the best option there. Obviously things may change and this may see widespread retail release. I’m doubtful of that, however, because Mythic has talked about MSRP and retail release for most, if not all, of their games from the last 3-4 years but, to my knowledge none have been sold anywhere aside from limited quantities on their web store (maybe it’s the exception of SFB?). Or maybe I’ve just entirely missed them? Regardless, thanks for the great work and content. Keep it up.

The extra you would pledge to cover the shipping will be transfer as credits in the pledge manager. Since the shipping shown is a estimate, you are better off paying the shipping when the pledge manager is opened.
I don't like them. But I loved gameplay from what I have seen in your recent videos. I might skip this one in favour of other current late pledge games and upcoming campaigns. If this was few months ago or later I would back it, maybe, but it's just too many good looking games coming out right now.
At least they included VAT🤣 it insane how much money goes into these boardgames. On the other end, if it's money well spend... So how many times would you expect the average player will play the base set without it getting stale. And second, which add ons (years) are much haves and which are meh
@@jdolla7733 Well, if you took out all of the "unnecessary" things, all games become a abstract game. After all, this is a game about shooting each other will gun, like in RPG it always show what weapons you are using, even if you can't change it. But this game the art are cut off and some even not holding a gun. I think showing the gun help you understand how each OPs attack perform at different range, i.e. pistols do less damage, shortgun have high close range damage, ARs have better dmg at long range.
R6 skins are not like CS:GO skins, if you get a skin in R6 you can not sell it, it's locked to that account. You could sell the account, but ya there is no steam market for R6.

Not my theme. Never liked these type of video games. Also pricey. And as always the ultimate deal is again the base game. All other add-ons are for the companies to make a profit.
