I had my Boston for 14 years she was the smartest most loving dog ever. I want another one but putting her down was the hardest thing I had to do in my life. I don't know if I can ever do that again I don't cry much, but that day I did. I wish our dogs could live as long as we do. If there is a dog heaven my dog is surely there. Perhaps someday I can get enough courage to get another boston but for now I have her memories with me always.
Would really like to order some things from your gift shop but it’s really really expensive & can’t justify paying £13+ for a mug or £20+ for a t shirt.
Its so funny, I originally wanted a bigger dog but went with a boston do to a smaller house. I don't think ill ever go back now. Bostons are so cute and sweet.
My Boston Rocky passed away in November at 15 years old. He lost both of his eyes to glaucoma (about 1.5 years apart) and was completely blind at 10 years old yet he would still sit and stare directly at me like he was willing me to do whatever it was he wanted. He was amazing at navigating all over the house. We miss him very much.
So sorry for your loss. I know how devastating it is and the empty feeling. I lost my Boston a month ago today due to a ruptured gallbladder💔😢 I miss my bOy sOoOoOoOo.. much!
I’ve had 4 Boston’s in my life. Got the first one at age 4 and I’m now 44. I always have to have at least 1 at a time in my life. They’ve all lived until 14 or 15 years old. My current Boston is a blue Boston named Bloo and she’s 5. She has my whole ❤️
Mine junps in my lap. He doesnt lick me but just looks at me till i kiss him on the cheek about a dozen times. The look on his face is utter contentment. I love that
I have my 7th Boston in my lifetime. I have had 2 together several times. I grew up with one. A day never goes by that the two did not make us laugh. They are so smart. No problem training them. Had one years ago that I got all 3 obedience degrees with. I am 76, so now we just play & share our love. “Once you go Boston, you don’t go back”.
We've had our six-month-old Boston Terrier for about nine days now, so we're seeing all these signs as she's getting used to us. She's really such a joy to have.
I finally, after two years of being Bostonless, we got a brown male Boston. I forgot how energetic a Boston puppy was, after not having a puppy for over 10 years. Henry loves going in his crate for naps, at nighttime, and during the day while we work. I know he loves us, showing all six signs you mentioned. He brings us toys, but doesn’t like giving them up very easily. He has brought so much entertainment and love to us during these difficult times. We cherish every day with him and know he loves us as much as we love him. Best dogs ever❤️
They also show they love you by taking your shoes/socks just to lay with them 🥰 My Boston takes my slippers anytime I take them off and brings them to her bed to lay with them. It’s her favorite little “game” for attention
We bought our Boston thru kijiji. Not an official breeder, just a family with friends to make a litter. I will post a picture, new to us is pad training. Currently weather here in Canada hovers around freezing so too cold and too much snow for outdoor potty training. I will need help with transitioning to outdoors!
Bosco is a year and a half old now. That part about putting the paws on the shoulders caught my ear. Bosco just recently started putting his paw gently on my thigh while we're sitting on the sofa. I thought it was a one off, but he's been doing it at least once a day. It's so precious. And so loving. I mean. I hug him all the time. I think it's his version of hugging me back.
I love my Boston Charlotte. She is with me 99% of time. I am 89 now and I have her trained as a service dog. She was very easy to train. She watches over me like a big puppy
I always had big dogs, most notably czechoslovakian wolfdogs. After 4 years of my wolfdog passing I felt ready to take on another dog and I chose a Boston terrier (lilac) and I must say I am absolutely in love :) With wolfdogs you need a strict hierarchy and always to be the "top dog" (not force, but gentle and kind yet a leader at all times). While this is true with every dog, with a non-wolf hybrid it`s so much more easy + my BT is the silliest goofball ever :)
I’d say all of the above, especially as mentioned bringing their toys to you. And I’d add picking your chair/bed, even when there’s plenty others on offer (some even more comfortable) to sit/sleep in, when you’re not using it. They’re comforted by the scent of you surrounding them.
I lost my Boston, Mickey June 5 2021. He had Cushing disease. He had a stroke and two days later I found him covered in blood. Best companion I’ve ever had and I will miss him forever. They are truly americas gentlemen.
Toothless hates being left at home. He comes with us in the car most of the time, but when i have to buy food, he has to stay home and when i go tot the boss' house. When I get home, he jumps so high that i can actually catch him. His bum wiggles and he shakes from the excitement, i have to calm him before i can walk further to put stuff away. Right now its cold, so i turned the heater on and put his pillow there. Hes a happy pup right now. After putting his pillow, he looked at me with his little face as if to say thanks mom. I reckon I'm gonna get into bed just now and turn heater off, so he can cuddle under the covers. Winter is here in SA!
My little girl waits for me whenever we go - won't go down the stairs or outside without me. She always looks to see where I am. Of course, I do the same!
Today Sunday 05/16/2021 we have had our 8 week (now 9) old Boston Terrier puppy "Gizmo" one week today. He loves to set in my crossed feet when I come home from work and eating supper. He will get between my ankles and sleep until I am done eating. Very affectionate and loves to stare at my wife when she is in the kitchen. Love our Boston!
All of the above every day. Our little guy is obsessed with me! Unbelievable unconditional love ❤️ they are a special, unique breed that will leave a mark on you! You will never forget them.
***NEW SUBSCRIBER*** I inherited my rare (Brown and White Boston Terrier) while he was running for his life and almost was hit crossing the streets. His previous owner must've abused him😭 because he was soooo boney, one of his back paws were missing 2 toes, and his already short tail was cut even shorter😡 There's a very special place for BAD fur owners!!! Needless to say, I nursed MY now fur Son back to health and 6yrs later, Champ and I are inseparable 🐾🥰🐕 the loyalty of a stray animal is like none other 🙏🏼💕 Thank you for your channel and content to help US Boston Terrier parents🐾✌🏼
I've only had my first Boston for a few days. I never walk barefoot, even in the house. When he wants to go out, he brings my shoes and tries to put it on my feet 😎 I could not figure out what it meant at first 😂😂😂 Now he is so pleased, he brings them without chewing and he is rewarded.. so easy to train
Mine does all of that but the way I know my Buffy is happy big time is she will go into a snort mess. She is the most snortiest little boston ever and I absolutely love her so much! My little piggy!
I had the pleasure of being "grandma" to my son's Staffie, Athena. She saved me from 2 attempts to end it all.. (PTSD) Sadly, she got sick very fast and within days, kidney failure ended our special bond in October 22. Unexpectedly, Roman the Boston, came into my life a few days ago. He was 2 in July 22. I have always loved the breed, though never thought I would be blessed with my very own. I received him already potty trained, which is a great blessing. I live in a house with a big garden and one golden retriever mix (housemate's). Neither have been sterilised nor socialised with other pets, though they play well together. Roman gets very excited when our 2 budgies get roudy, and even lunged at the cage, but he loves watching them. I have never seen such a lovable doggy.. that kiss where he literally just pushes his mouth against my neck, cheek or mouth, stare for a bit, let out a sigh, then collapses for a belly rub.. it is so adorable ❤️❤️❤️
I would come back home at 3.30pm through a surveillance cam by 2:30pm SHARP my boy would circle to make a nest behind the front door on the carpet and wait for me to get back. As soon as he hears me coming up the stairs he would wake up and greets me at the door. So precious! One time I thought someone was using a jackhammer and I thought to myself "who on earth is drilling?" well as I got my head level with the floor of my apartment I realized my boy was actually fast asleep snoring on the carpet behind the door. I am not kidding you the floor vibrated so so badly! LOL.
I got a baby Boston last week and I pushed him by accident and yelled at him because he wasn’t listening to me. I feel terrible 😢 I hate to see him sad. I know this can be traumatic for dogs. I know he loves and I love him. I just want to love him and cuddle him. I hope I don’t lose his trust and I promised him I wouldn’t yell at him or push him anymore. He’s a sweet puppy. As I’m writing this I’m crying 😔.
Thank you for all this information. I just adopted my BT from the local SPCA. I have always had dogs but never a BT and needed some education. I love her so much and she is a lover.
My sister and brother-in-law have a Boston who will take my hand in his little paws and he will ever so gently sort of chew on my fingers. His jaws are very strong but when he does this, there's no pressure or aggression, he just sort of likes to gum my fingers every now and again. Often times he's doing this on his back and I rub his belly with my free hand. He seems pretty happy with the arrangement and I'm always glad to spoil him with attention when visiting.
I have a boston terrier that is 3 years old he had a car accident and broke his leg his name is christmas and i was crying the hole time when he was at the vet then i asked my dad about christmas and he said that he made it!! i was so happy! now he's only using his 3 legs but i love him anyway❤
My only brother is a Boston Terrier. his name is Angus and we got him on June 2 2022 on a Wednesday (yes I remember the exact date), he his 10 months now and his first birthday will be on the 7 of April a day before my Grandpas 71st birthday! And I think he is the only Boston Terrier that has the loudest snoring in the world, because I can hear him snore in the lounge while I'm on my computer even with full volume. And I think he does love me, because he always licks me and makes eye contact and always wants to play and sleep by me, I love him and my Pug Fudge to bits.
I have owned Boston Terriers all my life and I'm 60 young. There's nothing greater than a Boston Terriers love. Tank use to push his face up against my check to love on me. I am blessed with a 12 pound red and white Boston now who is very calm and loving. She goes everywhere with me. Loving Boston Terriers in Idaho
My Boston begs a treat, has me follow him to my bed-his bed lol has me love him up,tuck him in and then he makes theses adorable grunting and grayling sounds while finely chopping his treat...That's my 8 yr old baby boy...........He has many lovable yet tricky ways..........
We have a Frenchton (Boston and Frenchie is mix) but he feels and looks so much like a Boston Terrier! He’s soooo loving and affectionate!! He loves to snuggle and show his love by licking your whole face! 🥰😍
Well Ruby is basically so happy when I come home, that she starts to tap with her paws and she is not able to calm down for 2 min or so, she is not able to sit down because she is soo excided😂❤️🤗. I love her sooo much!!!
Boston love = getting up from their covered in blankets nap, when they really don’t want to, in order to be standing at the window waiting for you to come home from school. My mom said she heard all kinds of groaning and moaning coming from under the covers of the bed and realized it was like 5 minutes until we were due home. Our Boston always knew what time which of us would be coming home.
Omg you nailed it. My Boston does all of the above to show signs that he loves me. Krackers will lick my toes, follows me everywhere, even when I go to the bathroom he will fall asleep at my feet when I’m going #1 or #2 or even when shaving. He snuggled when I’m sleeping. When I come home he’s always there to greet me at the door. Sometimes I try to sneak in the house quietly and no matter how quiet I am he runs to me and jumps on me. Krackers hates when I put my socks and shoes on because he knows I’m going out so he does everything he can to stop, like jumps on my lap, yanks my socks when putting them on. It seriously takes me 10 mins to put shoes on. Then he gives me the guilt trip by going to the back of his kennel so I can’t see him and ignores me when I say bye (brakes my heart). His special way to show his love is jumping on my lap and lick the back of my ears. Not just one but both. This is just a handful of kooky things Krackers does. This video nailed it. Thank you!
Does anybody else's Boston terrier love to lay on their face all the time this dog he's too much I love him so much it's not even realistic I don't know I just don't know what I would do without him he's my heart he's my heart and soul at this point in my life! 💜
I love this! My Boston is a mix. He’s much taller, longer and curly long tail! But he’s def attached to me. When I shower he’s laying at the door or knocking on the door to come in. He likes to sit with us at the table when we eat. I have to correct him often. When we are driving, he thinks the chair is meant for the both of us! Although he has the whole back seat to himself. He’s very protective of me and gets jealous when I cuddle with my daughter lol
Speaking of eye contact, our BT knows EXACTLY when it’s time to feed her. Twice a day she’ll sit by my feet and gaze up at me until I look back at her. (I know why she’s looking at me but I playfully ignore her)....Suddenly I look down at her and say those magic words “Do you want something to eat?” She then goes NUTS running around the house with excitement - then heads straight to her food dish. ❤️❤️❤️
That sounds like my Gracie. She would stand in front of the t.v. and give you a stare. Then you would first ask if she wanted out, if she didn't move you would ask if she wanted some "foodie" and she danced and yipped Smart babies.
@@BostonTerrierSociety this is the site that made me decide to get this breed. thanks for all these information. Bella is wonderful and I hope my Boss T (short for boston terrier, lol) will be the same as well. Keep on sharing. Sending love from Philippines! :)
My older boston loves to hop on my lap while I am working, and she puts her front legs on my shoulders and basically is hugging me. Tail twitching non stop. I get to rub her back and legs and belly, always love it!
I used to have mild sleep apnea and without ever having been trained to do so, my little girl would slap my face with her paw to wake me anytime I stopped breathing! Unfortunately, after 14.2 years making the world a happier place, she passed on last week...
5:23 My Boston likes to stand on me. Not sure if that’s because he loves me, or wants to dominate me. He’s a rescue. I got him when he was 22 months old. He was bought from a breeder and returned to the breeder and I got him from the Boston Terrier Rescue and fostered to adopt him. He’s a love bug.
My brand new BT puppy ( 2.5 months) likes to sleep on my neck, she lays across my throat and sleeps right on it or right against my face, facing me. Ciri is a loving breed.
Our Boston Terrier, Oscar, climbs up and puts his paws on my shoulder and nibbles on my ear. He never bites, he just gently nibbles. As soon as he sees me in the morning, I get an ear nibble.
One thing my late Boston used to do is when I was sitting on the couch, she would jump up and stand on my lap sideways. She would just hold still and look straight ahead. It was her signal to say, "You may give me affection now". She also had this thing about sitting on my lap in the car sideways. She would look straight up at the ceiling of the car and hold her head up that way. I would then kiss the side of her face. It was so strange, but she was just very independent, and you had to wait till she wanted affection. I miss her terribly, she was such a character....
Either my Boston wants my food in my room or she just likes to lay by my door because I am like one of her main caregivers so it’s kind of sweet whenever I Open my door to walk downstairs to get water she’s just laying there
Our Boston Terrier is 8 and now has been diagnosed w/ osteoarthritis of her back legs and Molly has back spurs. She doesn't want to do anything anymore, she's having trouble walking, she tips over so easily. She's on Caprofen PRN but it makes her more wobbly. Do u know of anything we could do for her. The Vet just said to keep her comfortable. Thank u in advance.
I have a 1 1/2 year Boston she does all the things you said except for the reason you gave for # 1. When my Diamond stares at me it means Dad I need to outside go potty.
I have a job that requires me to get up at 0240... that's 2:40 a.m. for you civies... After I finish my early morning bathroom routine, Casey is outside the door waiting for me and the first thing she does is a very low body stretch in front of me with her butt in the air and wags her tail. Then I lower myself on my knees and she climbs up and actually give me a hug with her fore legs around my neck. Then she follows me down stairs and keeps me company before I leave for my job of opening up one of the gyms on the Naval Station. When I come home no matter if it is in my truck or my motorcycle... she knows how both sound... I can hear her whining and yapping and as soon as I open the door, she is doing what actually resembles the Snoopy dance.
I don't know if everyone will agree with me but there is a huge difference between a female Bostie and a male Boastie. The male is my first born who came to us 14 1/2 years ago and yes he's still alive. We had the girl who just turned two this February. Now my girl is a complete Daddy's girl and she has me wrap around her paws. There is nothing she would do to show her affection to me and even tricks. Everything you mentioned in your videos she does and more. My wife gets really jealous because she doesn't show the same affection to her as she does with me. When she's in the middle of one of her intimate moment with me and my wife decides to interrupt or join in with the cuddling, she'd just stares at her. Not growling or uttering something to her, she just glares, she waits until my wife response or react. Then she goes back to the cuddling with me leaving my wife flabbergasted. Now you know why my wife is jealous. lol.
