that’s true heat is normal but too much is really bad. yes your tattoo will be warm for a while afterwards but if it lasts longer than a day or it’s not warm but HOT it’s not healing right
I had a tattoo ooze and scab over once. It was so painful and I had to get it touched up about 4 more times because the ink/color wasn’t “sticking”! So bizarre. Other tattoos from this tattooer weren’t problematic.
Got my first tattoo 8 days ago of a chrysanthemum flower in black and blue. My skin didn‘t take kindly to the blue color. It hurt until day 7, the skin was tight, warm and pretty sensitive. They said it was normal, because of the colors (took 4 hours) and you know everyone heals differently. The redness went away after day three. Light brown scab formed only on the blue colors + light yellow discharge (three small spots), but it didn’t smell foul at all.Took Ibu everyday, cooled it, washed 3 times a day, let it dry for 20min before putting on a thin layer of cream, laid my arm always on paper towel and now thank god it doesn‘t hurt like a bitch anymore. But it‘s day nine and the flaking process is very slow. Don‘t know how I fucked the healing up, I followed my artists advice and they are the best studio around…
Well, the first time I got my tattoo on a largely exposed area, it hurts like crap but it healed up well but they're some botched parts just near the lines, the tattoo's still great lookin' though! (Also great video again Mike!)
Gotta say that using that saniderm plastic folder is far better when it comes to healing the first days. I just got done my 2nd tattoo, the artist didn't use it and hurts like hell🤣
I got my first tattoo 3 weeks ago and it’s a wolf on my upper right arm. I didn’t have any complications or anything like that and it’s starting to look really good. (Sorry for my bad English xD)
I have like a rash around my tattoo - got large one - on my thigh 😅 took 9 hours. And the peeling has begun after day 2 and it’s still pretty warm and swollen- I have appointment with doctor tomorrow although tatto artist said not to worry, but just in case, better safe than sorry 🎉
Just got my forearm done and its warm ish, pretty sure it's the antibodies and white blood cells, its only been a day so lol pretty cool to think about what's going on underneath the ink though
I got Calcifer from Howls moving castle, its been one week sofar and i treated the tattoo like i treated my Grandmas wounds 🤣 My artist put on a Suprasorb Plaster ('second skin') and told me to let it be there for maximum 5 days, and if i feel its getting too wet/dry, itchy or something i should immediately get rid of the plaster, which i did on the day after 😸 it was really wet (not infected tho) and i felt like it would be better to clean it a bit with clear water (i didn't even used any soap) and the cream i got from my artist. But for me it was kinda bugging to let a 'wound' just be completely uncovered so i put on another Suprasorb Plaster and repeated that progress until day 5, so i always cleaned it, put on some of the cream and covered it with a new plaster. On day 3 it already started to peel a bit and now its on the progress to completely peel. I have to say, i have really problematic skin, thats why i used the second skin method 😸
hey man, good video, but I disagree with a few of these. I think everyone heals differently, while these are good general rules of thumb for someone who is new to getting tattooed things like skin redness, heat coming off your tattoo, bumps around the tattoo, scabbing (to an extent) can be apart of the normal healing process for some. I have sat through around 100 hours of getting tattooed now and been through the healing process 10-15 times, and 75% of the time I have encountered one or multiple of these. All of my pieces except for 1 have healed great! I think you have to know your own body and use reason, because I have very sensitive skin, so some of these things just happen to me after every session. I stay in very frequent contact with my artist and send him pictures throughout my healing most of the time to make sure nothing looks really off and only 1 time has he recommended I go to the doctor... but like I said overall good rules of thumbs for someone who is still learning about their body during the healing process
I agree! With my tattoos redness and swelling stays around for about 4-5 days for me also I'm prone to little bumps (ingrown hairs?) on /around my tattoos but they disappear in time- I have 4 tattoos, also a couple of my tattoos had scabs, only in places the tattoo artist went a little too hard or over a spot one too many times for my skins liking 😅
I've had about 35 hours of tattoo, all of them have healed well and I've done them all the same. This time everything is healing well except from the blue ink, I am on day 4, the rest has a light flaking which is beginning to come off and starting to itch, the redness and swelling has gone down. The blue ink however is still red, some of it has heavil scabbed and and its patchy and painful when i move (its in the crevis of my inner forearm). I am a little dissapointed, I dont know what i've done wrong but its causing me a bit of grief.
I got my 7th tattoo two weeks ago and for the first week I got a bit worried as it was not healing like the other. Strangely all the normal steps that happen with getting a tattoo were happening at the same time or out of the normal time frame. I had scabbing and peeling by the second day but the redness, heat and pain went on for about a week. Then the second week I had the itching but the peeling has stopped. Despite this it has healed really nicely but still carrying on with the aftercare. 🙂
i had a band done on my forearm with saniderm and applied and cleaned it properly and i can say getting ALOT of dense and i mean reall dense work all in one session i can attest it will be red for a few days after. but goes away after about day 3ish. i have sensitive skin tho so it was understandable. smaller tattoos on me personally dont get hot at all tho.
I got ocean wave triangle on my forearm. As u said scabbing & peeling is abt the same. But since its has already been 13 days . My tattoo healed. Godnnes no redness not too much ichy, no swealling and its gg in the skin so i guess is just a peeling not scabbing. 😊
I’m 14 and want to get just a little symbol of something that saved my life and got me through depression and a whole bunch of other mental issues. I wanna get it when I’m 16 but I’m gonna wait till I stop growing just to make sure nothing bad happens and to make sure that I won’t regret it if I still want it. Is this a good idea?
I use second skin and even to the fourth day it smelt funky. And was SO itchy. I couldn't even sleep. Itchy and burning and smelling like scum. I was supposed to take off the bandage on the sixth day but I took it off on the fourth day. Thank god it was OK. Healed really well now
I just got a lion tattoo 7 days ago , and in some area it looks very cloudy, and there is a sort of bump on one of the areas. I have been washing it 3 times a day I applied aquaphor the first few day and then switched to a non fragrance lotion. and i feel like it is going to turn out bad in the cloudy areas
I had a huge sleeve done, and after my 3rd snd 4th sessions on the elbow my whole lower arm and elbow were swollen for about 5 days, but went down after that, so 3 days isnt always a good rule of thumb
I've had my Avenged Sevenfold Deathbat tattoo on my chest since August 19th. Redness was pretty much gone by day 2. 99% of the scalping has now gone but since Saturday an itchy red rash has suddenly appeared on the top bit of his head just at the bottom of my neck. Feels dry, isn't raised at all gets a bit itchy not majorly a slight burning sensation like a sunburn but minor also there's no swelling either and no puss. I'm thinking its either because I sweat to shit in that area after getting back in the gym on Monday and going a few times, the tattoo balm (although my Mickey Mouse hasn't had any problems and I've been using the same balm on him). Im also thinking it could be due to wearing my Disneu Spirit Jersey as the neck of the top sat exactly where ended up getting a rash. Do you reckon mine is an infection or allergy? Had both my tats done with the same artist within 4 days of each other. Neither are itchy anymore just the red rash where my neck ends. Hmmmm Great vid BTW! 👍
Great question! I actually made a video about this. Check it out and it should answer your question. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_vgFOskZI-0.html
Hello thanks for the video. After 2 weeks of using lotion on my new tattoo, I stopped applying it and after 2 days i got itchy bumps all over my tattoo.. hydrocortisone didnt work, but when i started re applying lotion "bepanthen", it seems like it starts to get better. Really would appreciate your help
Got a Trinity tattoo on my inner forearm. I was surprised it didn't hurt all that much. Got it 6 day's ago and it just started peeling yesterday. Is it normal for it to itch for like, 6 to 7 minutes and then stop, and for it to happen only once???
I think ive been putting way too much aquaphor. But once i put it on my tattoo, i grab a paper towel and gently pat it so that its not caked up much. I think i have one pimple but thats it
This is not my first rodeo but we’re the blue color I can see my white skin. So the artist wants me too wait 2 weeks before getting it retouched. Is this normal???
I just got 2 new tattoos this past Thursday, one of them the skin feels so tight, every time I wash it and pat it dry it’s like the peeling and once it comes off there’s fluid underneath it. It’s been swelling also since I’ve had it and really sore and when patting it dry it feels hot. And it’s extremely sore and burns.
I woke up next morning with a rash and I’ve had 5 tattoos prior that’s never happened before so now I’m jus stressing and it stings when I put the cream on and I see some oozing on the red ink area but it’s too early to tell and I can’t tell what colour the oozing is hopefully the rash goes away! I love tattoos bu the aftercare always stresses me out😭
@StormRaider_93 I figured it out because my tattoo had the same rash as my hands. I also know that I'm allergic to some soaps so it wasn't hard to figure that bit out. I started using castile soap for my tattoos. It works well. I'm not a tattoo artist so idk if they'd actually recommend that or not, but all my tattoos since have healed very well with no infections.
I got a tattoo on my ankle on a Wednesday and it swoll up and now today is Tuesday and swelling went down a little and the plasma still runs so not sure if the tattoo is infected I see little redness around it but not sure if it’s infected can you help
is that heat thing right dude cuz my tattoos always do that and i strictly have home tattoos but they always heal just fine and stop after there close to being healed
I have 4 big tattoos, it oozed for 3-4days but healed perfectly normal thankfully. Question for you, i got a half sleeve last year, it was healing perfectly normal but my arm from the tattoo to my wrist was swollen for a week but went away and healed perfectly. Why do you think that happened? All my other tattoos were fine but my arm blew up. I asked my artist and he never seen that happened before. Just asking for curiosity since it was odd.
@@EvolveINK that could be true, just weird because its black and grey. Got a big rib piece done recently and it was fine. Guess every location is different
Its been almost 12 weeks since I had my half sleeve done and its still feels dry and tight it also looks very cracked and has some areas that are light pink/red color in the cracks.
My tattoo doesn’t have any of these and it’s peeled. It’s onto week 4 and it looks shiny. Not flush and into my skin yet.can still feel it with my finger. Don’t know what it is. Any advice?
I got a tattoo about a week ago and I ended up with a rash around it about 2 days after and it’s starts to go away and then comes back. It’s also a little warm
Got My forearm sleeve coming up it’s Anubis holding the pyramids while they turn to sand going threw his fingers and a sarcophagus on the otter part of my forearm
I got a little outline of a moth on the back of my upper ankle about 3 days ago and it’s still red. It doesn’t hurt, doesn’t itch, and isn’t hot to the touch. Just red. Should I be worried?
@@EvolveINK thank you! the day after i got it i went walking around town for 3 hours and was sweating really bad, and i think that irritated it too! it’s starting to turn pink now, as if it is going away :)
The worst stage of tattoo healing is the itch and the ugly tattoo (when it start peeling and eveything looks faded and messy) i got my EVA 01 tattoo 5 days ago and the itch is real.
So it’s day 7 of my half sleeve on my arm , my artist touched up my 6 month old tattoo on my inner forearm , it is still red / little bumps no oozing or pus doesn’t hurt. However the new piece he added on the other side of my arm is healing correctly he said bc of the elements outside say 2/3 I did go outside with it not covered should I be worried if day 5/6/7 it’s been red with small bumps? Should I use less lotion?
I litterly just got my tattoo today it was the tree of life done like 6 hours ago and i just wanted to get sum info cuz my guy didnt give me a second skin he just told me to put a cream on it every two hours and wash it and put some paper on it
Got my tattoo 5 days ago, suuuuper happy, just a small word on my tricep. Is it weird that I sometimes feel it? Like I feel it sometimes 😂 I feel it's there
Do you have any tips regarding tattoo bubbling? Got my first tattoo and I think I've used too much lotion or didn't let it dry properly before applying so my tattoo has lots of little scabs and I can't find much info on it..
@@brendaaguayo7249I am in the same situation rn. I think im just gonna stop applying lotion. Its day 14, everything was okay until yesterday. Im a little confused, I also have other tattoos but this is the first time happening to me.
@@EvolveINK thank you! I really like your video library. I'm a 54 year old Goddess who finally said let's stop dreaming and make a tattoo a reality! Your videos help!
I got my first tattoo just a week ago! it’s pretty big almost covering the whole upper arm. Two days ago it started peeling and being so crusty and dry. What can I do to relieve the extremely uncomfortable feeling of wanting to itch it??? It’s so annoying, especially at night! I actually had to tie my other hand up so I don’t scratch it at night😣 can I put ice on it for example?
im on day 10-11 and its a name writing, it has like black bumps type shit, is that just part of the peeling process ? cuz theres no swelling, its not red anywhere, theres no discharge anywhere, no pimples, it jus looks greyish wit black scabs type shit
You could be applying too much product onto the tattoo, I recommend checking this video out here. I talk a little about it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_tl6ar_E6uE.html
I have a tat on my chest of a pewce sign and its super raised and stings even after 3 months. I think my artist went really deep. I can live with the raisedness but the stinging is annoying. I was told it can take 4-6 months to heal. But does that mean I should feel pain for that long?
This is not my first tattoo, it’s my 7th, but perhaps I did something wrong with this one because the place was very clean and watched the guy set up. Anyway, the only possible sign of infection that I have is that it’s still red along some of the lines (letters) of the tattoo. Tomorrow will be a week since I got the tattoo. Help?
Did the redness around the limes go away? Was it an infection? I’m having redness on the outside of the lines on my 6th day. Was fine up until now .., should I be concerned??
It's been a month (33 days) since I got a tattoo (Trash polka) on my arm (sides from shoulder till elbow) and I still keep getting pimples on it also, the lower (shaded) part looks a bit faded already. What should I do?
You can be getting a allergic reaction to the ink. This can happen for month, sometimes even years. Most of the time it will just leave to itchy skin or simples like that. You can always ask your doctor
I had a small tattoo done by an apprentice to the outside of my ankle. It was red around the outside and tight with a scab for about 2 weeks!! 😳 and then it started to go away. The scabbing stopped but Ive still been concerned about it even though the redness and scabbing and pealing has gone away. I can still feel some soreness in the muscle where the apprentice went kinda hard. Should i still get it checked out even though it looks good to go?
