My goal is to find a completely or close to stock 24v Cummins. An early 00’s would be good. Already done the 12v and would still be if it hadn’t burnt in a forest fire. But ya love the old school 24v also
I JUST bought 2001 ram 2500 my very first diesel! I fell in love with second gens especially the manuals🤘 mine has a built 5 speed it was originally an automatic. Love the video 👏
Man that sounds Soooooo Good!!!! I had an 06 2500 and had to l÷t itgo when I had to medically retire , and I miss my diesel truck every day!!!!😪 I love the sound of the 98 1/2 - 02 5.9 they sound even a little bit beefier than my 06 even though the 06 had quite a bit more power stock , they just didn't have quite the same sound when you're accelerating . My neighbor has a really clean 01 , and every time he starts it I just wanna cry 😢 but here in the near future I'm gonna find me another 2nd or3rd gen big bad dodge again , diesel of course !!!
12-10 I had an 06 2500 4x4 6 speed manual diesel , and in 6 years I put 163,000 miles on it and only thing I had to do was put a clutch in it , other than that I ran Power Services fuel additive , changed my oil every 7,000-7,500 miles and the day I had to let it go due having to medically retire , that was Hands Down the best vehicle I have ever owned!!!!! My neighbor has an 01 2nd gen and he loves the crap out of his truck as well , and he has not had any major issues either . Main thing when you go look at used diesels , Make Sure they aren't having blowby issue . Take the oil filler cap off and turn it upside down and set it right over the fill hole " with the engine running , if it doesn't move the cap or blowing off , it's not having a blow by issue . Second if it's an automatic make sure that ( 2nd and 3rd gen ) transmission has been rebuilt with receipts , and parts list provided for proof !! Don't take their word , they gotta have paper proof . They're Awesome trucks , and if you do your regular maintenance on a Cummins , you'll have a truck that can go a 750k- 1million miles .
