Good batch these SN58s, not to mention this one in particular! Does amaze me that despite these having been in Essex for about six years now, how many people have only just realised these have 6HP ZFs. Pretty sure there’s a few in the GAL commercial fleet that are 6 speed too from the same batch. Decent vid nonetheless!
Very very good batch, I was quite astonished when I heard it go into a 6th gear! Honestly don’t know how I hadn’t heard of these before myself as you said. I wouldn’t be surprised if a couple in that commercial fleet had 6 gears, The earlier ones from EN1 and upwards definitely had 5 though. Thanks a lot for the comment mate, I appreciate getting some recognition from other bigger channels, means a lot! 👍🏾
@@Frozzles Problem is before they became staples on the 100, the only good routes these did that didn’t have only 5 seconds of thrash was the 200 (before they brought that 5A/B bollocks in and made the route ridiculously overtimed) and the 94 prior to covid and it’s conversion to SD. Can stretch their legs slightly more on here than they can on other routes which is good. You can tell drivers also prefer these to the Hybrids - just look at my 33568 video for example. You’ve got good production value so you’ll overtake the likes of myself one of these days - without buying subs like certain others who I won’t name 🤣
Ugh I hate overtimed routes, they’re like my worst enemy 😂. What buses does 94 use now then? Yeah I’m gonna have a watch at your 33568 video. 👍🏾 That is true, I do try and keep consistent with the content while keeping the quality up.
these 6-speeders sound way more oomphy to the 5-speed examples to be fair! there's a whole batch of Arriva North West & Wales ones (4400-22) and they're not too bad, 4405 is a good one as well as 4403! but theyre not as good as some of these batch.
Oh wow, yeah I was certain there was at least a couple of other 6-Speed batches elsewhere in the UK! No surprise there, these Essex ones are amazing, especially with the right driver!
Thanks! Yep, overall, I think Stagecoach has owned one of the best tridents I’ve seen, sound wise and performance wise! Especially when they have had so many of them over the past 2 decades. There have been very good performing ZF tridents too owned by other companies, can’t forget those, e.g. the KGW Batch that Travel London/Abellio had!
Actually I think the best are National Express West Midlands since theirs tend to beefier, bassier, generally more hellfire and in better Nick than the Stagecoach lot Plus they’ve got a decent mix of both ZF and Voith
@@ChilternTransportProductions oh yeah, you aren’t wrong. They are quite nice! NXWM drivers are quite fast but that maybe cause the times I have gone to the west mids it was the holidays/ night time
I personally don’t mind the combination of the engine RPM in 6th gear combined with the axles, sort of reminds me of the 6-Speed LJ55 B7TL ALXs that Arriva had! But everyone had their preferences and I respect it. Especially with tridents like, it’s usually the main 5 gears that we are all so used to, so that sound combination in 6th gear is quite foreign so I understand
