Some modifications: Can a technologist interpret X-rays of various types? The answer is yes, but the system in America is unfair, unlike other countries where they have postgraduate studies and darker days to choose their specialty and write reports.
Atari, that isn’t a black and white question. Why? Because x-rays penetrate on an atomic level. Therefore, they can penetrate virtually anything. However, we can minimize risk by looking to substances that have a high atomic number such as lead, steel, and granite to “resist” against pass-through radiation. Keep in mind that x-rays are used to evaluate all kinds of things, from humans to airplane parts to fossils and yes, rock formations. So understanding the characteristics of x-rays and their target substance would be my vantage point. Hope that helps.
