You are very welcome. I enjoy your videos very much. The BMW. I think that this is the first BMW in a long time that actually gets me excited. Not very excited, but there's a certain something about it that gets my attention, where other recent BMW's have been a bit of a yawn; same as, same as. Having said that, BMW surely need something to zing up their corporate face now. They are more common than the Ford Focus and Mondeo on our roads and ten years or more's worth of the same face coming towards us every fourth or fifth car, or so it seems, doesn't raise an eyebrow no matter what the model.
Much better than a 5 Touring (which looks like a hearse with the blacked out rear windows). Great for holidays and long wheelbase gives better rear leg room than the 5 saloon. Panoramic sunroof gives the cabin an airy feeling. Not for company car drivers as it’s too expensive for the company accountants to sign off, and no longer supplied in the UK.
Beautifully executed car - with one exception. The hatch opens so high, it would hit the garage door opener rail (or opened garage door above) in most garages. Yes, via an iDrive setting, the opening can be limited, but at a lower setting access is awkward. And if one is out in the world and changes the iDrive setting for a full opening and forgets to change the setting back, wouldn't there be a risk of damage to the lift gate next time in the garage?
Nice review, always a pleasure. If you could add more views without wide angle and together with other cars I would be easier to get a feeling for the size and design? And I think you should swing the foot under the trunk, not kick. that's how it works on the Panamera at least ;)
The problem being I guess that you need a light and compact tripod for international travel, but that these are more prone to falling over unless weighed down when in use. Which tripod have you bought to answer this compromise? Something carbon fibre with a wide stance? Do you hang some weight, like a lens bag, underneath for stability? There was nothing weighing it down the other day when it fell, that's for sure. LOL.
I'm getting rid of my Benro Aero (legs can slide in, when there is too much weight on it). I bought Manfrotto Befree Live. This one has a fluid head, but for photography you can get a cheaper version with regular ball head. It's a bit heavier, than Benro, but also seems sturdier. Apparently there is also a carbon version, which should be lighter, but more expensive.
Learn how to use a wide angle lens! The distortion you'd created turned this beautiful machine into a pregnant hippo. Same could be said for how it affected your looks. Nice review otherwise with high production values.
I broke my main camera on this trip, so it was GoPro or nothing. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OCDfEQtzTm0.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pi5zFI8oaZY.html
A bit better than the old 5series GT but still much uglier than the normal saloon or estate. I don't see the point of this car. Audi on the other hand nailed the A7. That one really does look like a sportier version of the A6. This 6 series GT just looks like a mutated 5 series
You don't see the point of this car yet Audi on the other hand nailed it with the A7? So you get the point of premium hatchbacks just not from the BMW? Makes total sense.
