What do you use to add motion blur to your footage? The transform effect? I really like this idea, although my camera only shoots 4K30. That said, in most cases I don’t need to slow my footage down, but it does help from time to time.

Learn the fundamentals of editing video after that. Repeat 2 or 3 more times. Then show your new video portfolio to potential clients and continue to grow your earning potential, clientele & video skills from there!

Great video - about some great video work! Just one question, at 7.50, there's some very bright strobe lighting, but whenever I have filmed strobe lighting in a venue or for a music video, I always get 'torn' or half frames due to the sensor not being fast enough - but you don't seem to have had this problem - is there a way you've got around this issue? Thanks

I use a directional sennheiser mic to get great live audio from the crowd, but i think using a portable audio recorder like the zoom h6 plugged directly into the soundboard or speaker will get you the best audio of the band's music. As far as low light situations in the concert, using an aperture of 2.8 for telephoto lenses what do you suggest the iso be? How high do you think before it gets too grainy? Assuming you're at 24fps and 1/50 shutter speed.

Well the name was wrong but the explanation was correct. What you meant to say was “Shutter Angle” which should be set at 180 degrees. The 180-degree rule states that two characters (or more) in a scene should always have the same left/right relationship with each other. But good video!

@TARIQABDELPHOTO 6 месяцев назад
Thank you! It’s truly all a balancing act between shutter speed, aperture & ISO. If my shutter speed is higher, and my aperture is wide open, I’ll raise my ISO a couple stops to compensate for the faster (darker) shutter speed.

I have a question about slow-motion. I normally record at 24fps with shutter speed set to 1/50 to maintain the famous "cinematic look" but if I wanted to record a few clips to recreate the slow-motion effect later, with my current equipment I could go up to 60fps, no more. Logically I then have to slow down each recorded clips at 60fps by 30%/40% in post production, but in order to maintain the "cinematic look" I should export the entire video at 24fps. So, the question is: will this procedure ruin the slow-motion effect for those clips originally recorded at 60fps?
@TARIQABDELPHOTO
@TARIQABDELPHOTO 3 месяца назад
If I understand your question correctly - if you place a 60fps video on a 24fps timeline, it will still playback in 24fps and you will still have the option to slow it down to the maximum 40%. The variable being will it still have that weird soap opera look on a 24fps timeline? Let’s both experiment on that one lol But anyways, just make sure your shutter speed is set to around 1/120 or 1/125 when you record the 60fps footage. That said, if the soap opera look disappears on a 24fps timeline, then what else is stopping you from filming in 60fps the entire time then? Having all the footage in 60fps does give more freedom while editing for slo-mo, etc, however depending on the storage and gear you might run into overheating or run out of storage. Plus my camera doesn’t shoot 4K 60, only 1080p 60. Hope this helps! I just kept typing 😂

How do you deal with LED walls and getting “black bars”
@TARIQABDELPHOTO
@TARIQABDELPHOTO 8 месяцев назад
Yes, I’ve had this issue before. The appearance of those"black bars" on LED walls is often related to shutter speed & frame rate. To minimize or eliminate the bars, try adjusting your shutter speed to a multiple of the LED refresh rate. Obviously you can’t just know the refresh rate at the top of your head so I would recommend moving up in FPS up until they disappear. Start with 24FPS (and adjust your shutter speed accordingly, in this case 1/50th of a second.) If they continue to appear, move up to 30fps / 1/60th of a second. If they STILL appear, move up to 60FPS / 1/120th of a second. At this point you lose 4k quality most likely, but at least the black bar issue is hopefully resolved. 120 fps / 1/240th of a second is usually the last chance to hopefully have them removed. I’ve heard of cases recently actually where none of the FPS options removed the black bars (So perhaps a bit of luck is involved too. 🤞🏽) The reason for the FPS / shutter speed combo is due to the 180 degree shutter rule described in the video :) I hope this helps! And sorry for the delay on responding!

Any tips for distorted audio? I have a rose video mic go 2 and I set my recording volume on the absolute lowest possible, and sometimes I still get super distorted bass in my video clips
@TARIQABDELPHOTO
@TARIQABDELPHOTO 3 месяца назад
One of my best tips that I’ve done before is actually purchasing the song that you recorded from iTunes and overlaying it over your video with the distorted audio. (Hopefully you can actually make out and/or locate the song, if it’s EDM this could be difficult 😂) My most recent Seven Lions reel on my IG was saved by doing this. Outside of this, other audio effects in Premiere Pro or simply lowering the volume can help, but it will only lessen the impact of the distortion and not remove it completely.

I rented a 50mm lens for a concert shoot. Should I have gotten a different lens instead? I’m noticing as I’m trying out the equipment that this lens doesn’t really have a zoom in option
@TARIQABDELPHOTO
@TARIQABDELPHOTO Год назад
While a 50mm lens is a great lens for most types of photography, you will definitely want a lens that has zooming capabilities, like a 24-70 2.8 or a 16-35 2.8. If your lens doesn’t have a zoom option, you will simply have to move around more to get the composition you’re looking for. Hope this helps! @@mayalevyprojects Yes this also applies to shooting video! Although it's sometimes rare/unlikely that you'll "zoom in" in the middle of recording a video, but I would say the pros outweighs the cons, and a zoom lens is better than a prime lens in almost all cases when it comes to concert photo/video.

Hey! So technically, the A7R III's 3-inch screen is better than the A7 III's because it has a higher resolution (In case you were going to print your concert photos, for example), but in reality it doesn't make much of a difference. A73 Resolution: 24.2MP A7R3 Resolution: 42.4MP The A7R III's screen is also a tiny fraction sharper and of course that counts but in most real-world shooting situations it's likely to make no difference at all! any tips for concert vids with iphone 14 pro settings?
@TARIQABDELPHOTO
@TARIQABDELPHOTO Год назад
Yeah! For the best concert videos on your iPhone 14 Pro (assuming you’re just shooting raw clips for an artist), shoot in 4K at 30fps. For anything slow motion shoot at 1080p 120fps. Shoot vertically and hold your phone very still when moving for less shaky footage, manual focus for clear shots, don’t digitally zoom in or out, and external audio for better sound. I know there are some mics that can attach to iPhones, but they might not be necessary, it all depends on if this is client work or not. If it’s just to post on socials the mic is not necessary. Turn off HDR mode & high efficiency on your camera. Use “most compatible” instead. I hope this helps!
