As much as we enjoy being together as a family, we also want to be mindful of staying healthy. We want to do everything we can to stay safe from the flu, novel Coronavirus, and other viruses. The CDC provides us with some tips on how to prevent sickness.
1. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Reassure people that you don't mean to offend them when you opt not to shake hands or hug.
2. But if you do start feeling sick, stay home! Think about those around you. If you are experiencing any symptoms, don’t try to “push through.” Stay home!
3. Wash your hands. Often.
Use soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
4. Also, avoid touching your face.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth until you've been able to wash your hands.
5. Cover your cough or sneeze
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve, not your hands.
6. Lastly, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning product.
Let’s work together to make sure we all stay healthy this season!
