Was this helpful? Which is your favorite tip?😍

I love the quickness of the narrow version and I found that using two different colors of yarn makes the resulting I-cord pretty cool looking.

This is super helpful. I’m using the method with a needle. I’d like to see a video on how to correct the icord if you dropped a stitch a few rows below 😮😊

OMG, Nicki! I have not attempted an I-cord before but needed one for my project today. The last method of creating one was genius. I whipped up a 36” cord in no time. Thank you so much. ❤

Quick tip on the last skinny I-cord - work it using both ends of your yarn. Do the slip knot with both ends, then continue on. That way you don't have to guess how much yarn to pull off and can make the I-cord the length you need. Learned this the hard way and this was an easy fix.

I like the last one. The one where you work with the non working yarn. I just learned how to make the basic cord using only 2 loops.🤩

Oh my goodness, i know this is crochet, but I just used number six to join two panels of a knitted cable afghan and it looks amazing! I’m so pleased. I’ve been looking for a join that would match well with the cables and not be too time consuming, and this was perfect. I have an outside slip stitch and then a knit stitch. I slipped the slip stitches together with a crochet hook and then did the icord stitch all the way up the seam. The knit stitch sits at the base on either side of the icord causing it to look more raised and like a ridge. So quick and easy and pretty! I love it. Thanks so much!

Nicki thanks for all the tips I have found if I use a wooden needle the loops don’t slip so much for me. But I absolutely love the skinny one and of course the spiral one very nice too!

Thank you very much for these tips. Gonna try it today. I’ve had several attempts and didn’t succeed. I am positive with one of your tips I will succeed at last.

I've been using the last technique (tip 6) for years, and I love how fast it works up, but I have a really hard time figuring out how much tail to leave for specific lengths.

Thanks for the video. It was really informative. I will probably start with the last quick one. I crocheted a little poncho and I think it would look cute to weave the cord around the neck and tie a bow.

If you make your slip knot with one skein and then attach a second skein to the non working end, you can work from both as long as you want.

@karenmalmgren3238
@karenmalmgren3238 Год назад
To make the last cord you can take a yarn cake and pull for the inside and out side ends to make a cord as long as you want without running out of yarn. Also use two skeins of the same color or another if you want a variation of colors in the cord.

Bit like Dolly Peg knitting, but that used 4 pins on a peg. Used for straps, cords to pull-through on bags and hats etc, bag handles, belts.....
