Great tips as always! I used to do design that way too (text content first then images and design) to guide the process. One thing I'm struggling with a LOT in sqsp is understanding the ZILLION spacing options! I have difficulty aligning things exactly the way I want to and then end up going through changing the grid spacing, changing the block alignment (top, middle, bottom). I don't get why it should be so hard. Maybe I'm missing something.
No, you are not missing anything, it has become more complex. They do offer alignment guides which helps. But this is also why I generally still stick to simpler, cleaner designs.
