“He trusted me and told me the family secret” proceeds to tell the internet about his friend’s family crimes. Bruh. Would not want that guy as a friend.
@@emilythiessenyeah that's what everyone is thinking about, mot the fact that the pos admits to being on friendly terms with a woman who killed people. Get your priorities straight.

My heart is with the 30+ people their parents KOed and the many more exploited/ likely ended that they weren't even caught for, certainly not with the person making excuses for them to farm some pity.
@@avamasquerade “They were good people, their hearts were in the right place” u can’t talk about your parents working for human traffickers and say something like that lol and how they were just trying to help people get into the country so they can have a better life. Like u really think that’s what they were bringing these people into the country for.
Lots of people’s families were involved in illegal alcohol during prohibition. My own grandfather, when he was a teen, smuggled alcohol in a hearse. He was doing just that in Chicago on the very same day the St. Valentine’s Day massacre happened in that city. There was no need for the buddy’s mother to act so weird about his friend hearing what his family used to do.
I always wonder why most mother in law hate their children's spouse? I mean, it kinda weird that they willing to do anything just because thy don't like them.
I thought I'd stop by for a bit and ended up staying for the whole party. I love your voice, excellent story te.ling talent. I'm subscribed and will be back! Thank you. 😊
You said “5 years later “ which would’ve made you a freshman in college…. Why was your “aunt “ still treating you like a kid or why were you still living with the woman?
Great stories!! In story 3, the kid trusts his friend with a family secret and throws it in his face by asking his mom then goes and tells the internet. 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah because that's the relevant thing here/s I hope 3rd story narrator rots in **** for admitting he's on speaking terms with a woman who's a f**** murderer and gangster
The Vietnamese stories are the most hurtful. My brother was brain damaged at 14 years when he got hit by a tuck riding his 10 speed. He also was called to fight in Vietnamese having been number one in the lottery. My parents spent a YEAR fighting the pentagon to keep my brother out. They said if he didn’t have a metal plate then he was good to go. Welcome to America!
My.parentd bought and flipped a prohibition house lol it had a chute to pass alcohol up out of and the same room had shelves full of green bullets and bottles when we cleared it.
Brooooooo… the ending… were you trying to get the ladies frisky?! lol I betcha did! Made me look at my phone like ummmm 😐 babe I can explain… I’m listening to Let’s Read.
Hey joel. Today is my 18th birthday. I just want to thank you for soothing me for the last four years. You may not know it, but you've helped me go through tough times. Back then I would be worrying about missed assignments. Now I would be worrying about college and stuff lol. Thank you Joel, and God bless you and the buttersock cult❤
Family secrets & psycho families are my absolute favorite compilations!! Keep em coming Sir. Love your voice, you truly keep me interested/engaged in all the stories & somehow soothes my ADHD. Thank you❤
This may sound shitty, but even dying in a car accident was better than going to Vietnam, even for the guilty feeling brother and friends. Here’s why, I understand that younger people may not know anywho went to Vietnam, but I do . Two Uncles and my dad barely missed being drafted, many of my father’s friends went and died. Vietnam was horrible, so many war crimes. Guerrilla warfare is horrendous, imagine having to crawl into a tunnel alone barely able to move with enemy hiding in there? It was not a just war and most Americans were against it, and when to draft soldiers you get men that A. Never wanted to be a soldier ever. 2.Pacifists that really don’t want to hurt others, and won’t even to save themselves. 3. Mentally unstable people. 4. Psychopaths/ sociopaths. It was literal HELL. With retrospect, had I not have been able to get out of the country, I’d have ended myself rather than go fight in that terrible war. I’d go to war if I believed in the cause ( like WW2 or Ukraine, American civil war as well on the union side course) but I’d rather die than be forced to kill other people for a cause I don’t believe in or find morally wrong.
That last story, reminds me of grade 6, a girl wanted to get out of social studies. So she thought tried to get sick enough to get out of it. She ate a peanut butter cup knowing she was allergic. Girl never went to social studies again, she died in the office. Felt terrible for her friend, that sold it to her.
My mom ruined my marriage. My ex is black and my mom is racist. They never got along and as years went by, my ex refused to attend family functions. I also stopped visiting my mom when my brother and SIL had their first child, all white baby. My mom never shared on social media any pictures of my son or ever played or even offered to see her grandson. My ex started to take her anger out on me for my mom's preferential treatment. Everything broke down and my ex left me. It's been 6yrs and I haven't been able to see my son. I was happy......
@@MGS.037 a few yrs ago I tried to kill myself and lost everything. I've been trying to keep a job and roof over my head. My ex blocked me on everything so idk where they are and she wouldn't let me see our son. Plus I would have to hire a lawyer and I don't have the $$$ for that right now. Might still off myself if things don't get better fr
@@shanebly4295 wether someone is a mom or dad, they dont have the right just to skip town with the kid. You have to have a court order then that this is the reason you cant have the child plus if you know were they are then you can report child kidnapping no? Is this in america? What state are you at? Im in Uk and me and my ex have shared custody. But i do know fathers who didn’t or couldn’t fight for custody of kids.
@@MGS.037 I live in the US, state of Georgia. Well my son is the only child I've had and I didn't learn til years afterward that both parents sign the birth certificate. I never even seen the certificate. She faked that the father is unknown so she could collect benefits on our son. I have no rights to our son in the court of law. I would have to hire a lawyer, get my son legitimized then try to fight for shared custody. I live in poverty, a defeated man with lil hope for the future. I just hope that I can overcome this
These are some of my favorite stories. Your narration is spot on (I love that you maintain even and smooth volume, tone, characters voices, transitions, etc). I fall asleep to some kind of audio every night and this channel is absolutely one of my favorites. Thank you for your work!
I have a family secret or something because is this old picture that we have in my house and is a man every time we ask about him or who he was or who is nobody wants to talk about it or they tell us to mind our business
Thanks for being here Joel. You've helped me focus on work, get good sleep, cope with missing my dad (rip 7/31/23), and now survive the emotional crash of getting away from an abusive ex (🎉 11/18/23). Your voice has been so soothing to me for years now. Keep up the good work.

Hey big hello here from New Zealand! Love your stories I am hooked and listen every night at least an hour or 2! Hey I have a suggestion… I’ve noticed you don’t have a Lot of stories on snake bites/ spider bites etc… those type of stories scare the crap outta me! I would loooove some stories on that type of content, an I’m sure a lot of others would. Much love Joel ❤ you are the man and I praise you for the many 100’s of hours you’ve put in to the channel. Polish Catholic grandmas are famously anti-choice, so you just know that lady was out of her mind! Also, bigos is great. It contains cabbage, pieces any tasty meat you happen to have, dried plum, spices, you can add some wine and whatever you like/have on hand. Yum!
The third story is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. Not saying stuff like that didn’t happen but…prohibition was 100 years ago. By the time this dude is telling it, it was well into legend territory. Sorry but I just don’t believe it. Especially after all the “unquestioning trus”t thing. Like…
I've worked hospice and a doctor called time of death. This time when the patient was moved to a gurney she woke up when she was moved. It was the jolt needed to restart the heart. She lasted another week and was angry because she had a DNR. It was pure accident.
The Polish grandmother story… 😳 my mom’s parents were from Krakow and Babci was horrible to my Italian dad. She was miserable when they got married. They lived on the East coast of the US and my parents moved all the way to CA to get away from her. She was only close to my cousins.. my mom’s brother married a Polish girl, so my brother and I were beneath her for being “half breed WOPS” (her words) Thank god I had amazing Italian grandparents who adored my mom.
That's horrible what happened to the little boy who had been molested by the priest. They put a lot of gay men at the time when that uncle was molested. He should have been able to be exorcised for the evil that was perpetrated upon him. Prayers for this poor traumatized soul.
