6 UNNECESSARY Makeup Trends! You DON'T Have To Do This!

All the time I was just watching her eyes 🤣 those eyeshadows are eýe catching

For everyone saying "she once used these herself", she did also mention that she hasn't been using them and hence finds them unnecessary. Also about certain products she mentioned that some people may find necessary indeed, she does mention why she does mention them in the list and the skin types for which they might be necessary. People seem to be in a hurry to comment somehow, so much so that they dont even follow what she is saying.

Face primers are important for someone like me who have large open pores..if I put foundation without primer then I get breakouts.

Wayne Goss has a great video on colour correcting and how unnecessary it is.

I never use highlighter! Because i have oily skin and i don't set my entire face with powder..just the 'T' zone..I only highlight the inner corner of my eye...yes Jovi it's unnecessary because one will look like a walking oil can in real life.. in photos highlights are good!!! You are so correct.. Everything you mentioned on this video is so damn true, especially the primer part. Primer is nothing but silicone, and there is nothing hydrating about silicone.. it’s just another marketing gimmick to make sales and that’s it. Silicone does make skin smooth for a while when you apply it, but honestly guys it’s just suffocating your pores and this leads to breakout. Also as Jovita mentioned, it can further enlarge your pores as silicone being hydrophobic is difficult to wash out completely and remain inside pores for long time. Also baking, and putting layers of corrector, concealer and foundation on daily basis is doing more harm than good. Just be yourself, don’t fall for trends, light foundation or concealer (if you want ) and sunscreen is all you need..🙂 Thanks Jovita for this brilliant video.

One makeup trend was so viral I almost have seen it everywhere that one person is applying a sheet mask then two or three kind of serum then so many products before applying a foundation made me so anxious and I tried once use a face pack just before my base also I used moisturizer and serum and guess what at the end of the day my skin look like an oil mine 😫 so I do what I do every time and honestly this kind of trends are so extra 😑 LOVED THIS VIDEO ... Learnt a lot of things from this ♥️

You spoke my mind :: 💐 I own one primer... And used 3 times in a year... 🙈🙈 💐 Don't highlight brows 💐 Own not a single eye shadow primer . Things I do even if said unnecessary: 💐 I love highlighter because I end up feeling dry all the time... 💐 I have deeeep dark circles... I use orange/peach colour corrector... Where I can just go with just foundation and not even concealer. *But* you said it!!! Not everyone needs everything 💯

I agree and have practically experienced the highlighter being un necessary. No matter how subtly I apply it, it ends up exaggerating my pores and looks artificial in pictures. My super oily skin gives that sheen in pictures anyway🤷‍♀️

Amazing video. All credit for these honest thoughts. I actually stopped doing all these steps long before as none worked for me and my skin thanked me for that. Instead of wasting my money on every new highlighter and primer now i spend it on skincare and that really has worked and nothing else. Thanks for telling that i am not losing on anything by giving up these steps. My goto makeup for everyday is a concealer, occasional color corrector when i have panda eyes, benetint and a lipstick. Lipstick is one makeup product which I don’t think one can have enough. 👍👍

OMG thank you so so much Jovi! I have just moved to wearing contacts instead of specs and I so badly need my undereye concealer. Having watched all the youtube tutorials, I always bake and ended up looking so caked up and dry and cracked i cant even explain! I didn't know what was wrong and i thought i didn't have the right loose powder. Today just after the video I tried very little dusting of loose powder and it looks like my natural skin and so beautiful 😭😭😭😭 thank you!!! ❤️

Firstly, I have a huge respect and appreciation for your work. Your content and its quality, efforts and honesty is commendable 🤗❤️. Now, I too bought a highlighter and a primer because everyone was talking about it on RU-vid and I thought they are wow products and I should definitely own them. I use my eyeshadow pallette for my highlighter and brow filler..i did not buy them seperately..nd i got this idea from one of your stories where you were saying of not buying every product and be creative and getting the job done by what you have.You really helped me saving a lot of money. And this video so damn helpfull specially the primer one. I have one but hardly use it..best is to moisturise and prep your skin really good to get that beautiful finish.

I'd the same felling of highlighters because my skin is so oily it naturally become highlighted... in one of your videos you said about two different colours of lips and how to apply lipstick on that it just help me a lot after ages of wearing lipstick....

I totally agree about ‘baking’! It seriously made my skin look dry but as I was starting out with makeup, I thought it was such a necessary thing but now , I am like ‘nope, next’ ALSO, Your eyeshadow seriously suits you so well!! It’s really pretty!!

Finally someone made this video!! I don't use a highlighter on a regular basis, and sometimes when I do for trivial outings, I get so oily!! Actually stopped highlighting after that. Same with baking - I do but just for special occasion. And I couldn't agree more with the colour correcting bit, woman! Me n my sister - partner in crime - tried colour correcting once a couple of years back after watching RU-vid videos, and it was a nightmare. Thankfully we were just trying it out and weren't doing for some event!! Didn't touch that orange corrector ever - sheer wastage of money! Another trend that I absolutely detest is applying serum using the dropper right on the face!!
