Multiplayer..... nothing kills my enthusiasm for a game that hearing that word! As a decades old fan of the 'Pirates' franchise, and someone who player TW Empire for the (bad) naval combat alone, it pains me greatly that Ahoy is MP 😔
We really hope you'll still find a home in Ahoy! Ahoy is a much slower paced game than most you might have experienced, and we believe the solo experience will be a lot of fun, even if you're still in the shared multiplayer space :)
Napoleonic-era Silent Hunter III would be amazing. Multiplayer dooms any realistic age-of-sail wargame because it prevents simple time compression, and time compression is the only reasonable way to deal with the nature of realistic age-of-sail warfare while continuing to interact with a living world. Ahoy will almost certainly find its realism aims crushed by the competing demands of a persistent online world.
Hello LTGaming! Thanks so much for covering Ahoy. We're really excited to see what everyone thinks of the game as it continues to develop. Fair winds and following seas!
I've noticed in previous videos you are using screenshots from Warno in your thumbnails even though you never talk about it in your top wargames videos. Comes out 23rd May, give it some love!
Hey! We feel that Ahoy will provide solo players a really fun experience, even if it is multiplayer :) Equally, we are seeing a lot of people who have this feeling, and so I'm sure, if our funding allows, some sort of solo-focused experience would be of interest at a later date.
@@AhoyGame Start Early access when there is enough to play so we can help fund further please. A storyline single player offline is exactly what we want as well as the option to go multiplayer. Looking forward to this!!!
After looking at the Ahoy Steam forum and seeing the dev's response to people being put off by PvP games and wanting this to include PvE only area or servers, I will NOT be buying this game. The concerns about this becoming another MMO PvP toxic player cesspool like Sea of Thieves is legit. The dev's responses of (paraphrasing here) "then don't buy it", ""then leave", "good for you for not buying it", is not how you talk to your customer base. The dev comes across rather rude and dismissive. This is a niche genre with a smallest fan base. Telling potential customers to go pound sand because they are critical game mechanics is not how you endear players to your games.
@@singledad1313 I agree. On the bright side it causes others to make the game we want. The debate on single player games not being popular is over, we all know the titles so this could even turn into a cancerous micro transaction game.
It's not "multiplayer" that kills a game for me.. it's the "competitive pvp". When I hear that, I know the game is gonna be a pure crap cash grab, and nothing more. Co-op multiplayer games, that aren't "Super duper competitive 5v5 pvp!" are pretty few and far between.
Pvp is so much better than co-op. I play a lot of pvp games but co-op has never really iterested me much. I've wondered why a small percentage of people actually seem interested in co-op, and I'm guessing they're mostly just lonely people looking for a friend.
Sea Legends is definitely the one I am keeping an eye on. I always wanted a single player game with the excellent ship handling and combat from Naval Action, and this might actually be that. Multiplayer is not for me, and it never was.
Naval Action - such a great game - had to give it up though as it was taking too much of my time. But even so - there were (probably still are) some totally classic actions fought and I don't think it will ever be bettered.
You forgot to mention Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age. Speaking of it, gamestar made a video of the game, showing amazing new gameplay footage. It's in German, but turning the captions on English will translate it.
Not a fan of multiplayer unfortunately and won’t purchase them. I had high hopes for Sea of Thieves, for example, but the exclusively multiplayer nature is a no-go for me.
Too much talk and slow visual pans that describe absolutely nothing of the actual game play. Three minutes into your video and I've had enough. Life is too precious to waste time like this. Thumbs down.on this vid. Adios.
