Loved your presentation - down to earth, matter of fact and very informative. Silly as it may seem, I hadn't thought about using a jack to connect the wifi box directly to my audio interface. I shall be keeping you channel in mind for other videos.
Heline, you mentioned plugging your EWI into a computer and using it as a MIDI controller but that you weren't going to cover that in this lesson. Did you ever put something together to cover that topic? Personally, I'm WIndows and Linux with no interest in Mac for this. Thank you.
Hello Trying to start AKAI EWI 5000 I connected via Usb to the computer Ewi Editor he sees the instrument, reacts, but when blowing there is no sound. What could be the problem?
Have you used headphones that need an amp on the EWI, but without the amp? I want to buy Sennheiser HD 600s, and I hear they almost require an amp. I'm wondering if the EWI supplies enough power to drive the headphones. I love your videos! I'm waiting on an EWI Solo. Thanks!
I have a problem with record music on EWI5000. When im turn on my AWI on Reaper for example, then EWI 5000 Editor.dll VST Plugin showing some strange windows with to Update your Service Pack 1 on your Windows(I have no windows XP so it's sounds like its not a point.) Why it's not working? Reaper see my EWI and is able to record someting, but without this plugin it's only piano sounds. You know how to fix it?
So, i am trying to figure out how to get sound to play on the pc itself (to for example record stuff with). As i understand it you need some kind of MIDI software and or soundbank thingy that works with wind instruments and its all very confusing what to go for. Any suggestions on what to download and use, especially free software alternatives?
Another great video! I mostly use headphones to play it or MIDI cable to plug it into Prophet REV2 synth and I am still figuring out the way to plug it directly into eurorack but for now I use USB for that as well. I never even unboxed wireless audio thing. I think I will buy EWI USB because it is smaller and lighter and I don't like builtin sounds all that much. Also Did you check AudioModeling sound plugins? There are so good sounding flutes, clarinets and saxophones but its bit expensive. I am probably going to get but still didn't decide which one to get first.
I haven't checked those out yet! I've been mostly using free VST instruments so far but for producing purposes I've been actually thinking about getting a VST subscription of EastWest Sound VSTs. I found some one quite ok sounding sax VST from DSK (I think it's this one www.dskmusic.com/dsk-saxophones/) that I've been using on my improvs.
I have just received EWI 5000, but I can't make any sound by using hade phone, display showing 1.7. Please help me to make at least sound with the hade phone. Thanks
